Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 originally on EE and I had it unlocked to 3. I am unable to do an update as via WiFi and I am presented with the following message, "The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorised way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your PC or visit a customer service centre".
I have been told that the unlocking of the phone has resulted in me not being able to use smart switch and that the phone is no longer connected to the Samsung servers.
The build number is LRX22G.G920FXXU1AOCY
I am using Android 5.0.2. at the moment.
If you're rooted you get that message.
Best thing to do is download your current rom again, flash it with odin and that'll restore everything to stock and allow the over the air update to be downloaded. (It doesn't wipe your phone)
Alternately download the latest rom for your model and flash that in odin and it'll update it.
Not that there is no (easy) way to root 5.1.1 without tripping knox.
How do I know if my phone is rooted or not?
Are there any obvious signs that will indicate whether or not the phone is rooted?
If the phone is rooted, where can I find the correct rom for my device and what are the steps to carry out this process?
I have a Tmobile Galaxy S6 that I rooted earlier today. I fiddled around trying to get odin to install the root, and I finally found my solution when I enabled OEM Unlock in settings. After I installed the root, I disabled OEM Unlock. I then rebooted my phone and now it gives me the "Custom binary blocked by FRP" message every time I try to turn it on. I have tried many different ways of factory resetting my phone. I have tried to install 3 different firmware files, one of them stock, using 5 different versions of odin and 2 different usb cables. No matter what I do I can't get past the FRP Lock. Is there anything I can do or should I take it to a repair shop?

Hi guys,
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930W8 via Ebay but unfortunately it is FRP locked. I know how to bypass the FRP but Android 6.0.1 needs to be installed and as it seems to me Android 7 is installed on it. I downloaded the original 6.0.1 firmware from Samfirmware for the SM-G930W8 but Odin gives a notification "system rev check fail device 1 binary 0". It seems that one gets this notification when trying to install an incorrect original firmware. The problem is that I cannot retrieve any info from the device because of the FRP lock (cannot get into device info).
Is there a way to find out which firmware is installed on it right now so I can download and install the correct 6.0.1 firmware?

Easy fix use Odin to downgrade firmware bypass the FRP lock then set phone up to your Gmail etc... Then upgrade I done it before to a FRP locked S7 edge and was pretty easy to do

Hello guys, I have a Samsung galaxy S7 G930FD (exynos version) which received the OTA oreo update few months back but whenever i tried to update it gave me error so I tried updating using smart switch but it softbricked my device. I couldn't recover it using smart switch recovery and had to flash the device using odin (which was pretty difficult). So now I want to update the device again but there is no more OTA update though the device is on stock rom and have same software which I had before device got softbricked. I don't want to update the device using smart switch in fear of getting it bricked again, What should I do guys?
As per the title in download mode i get KG state active and custom binary blocked due to installing balance.
I was able to reflash latest stock firmware with odin and at least get the phone working but am now not able to flash TWRP or magisk not
even with a patched AP file in odin it fails at last step. All i wanted was viper4android which unfortunately requires to be rooted for it to work.
Anyone have any ideas please??
