Find out exact firmware version - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930W8 via Ebay but unfortunately it is FRP locked. I know how to bypass the FRP but Android 6.0.1 needs to be installed and as it seems to me Android 7 is installed on it. I downloaded the original 6.0.1 firmware from Samfirmware for the SM-G930W8 but Odin gives a notification "system rev check fail device 1 binary 0". It seems that one gets this notification when trying to install an incorrect original firmware. The problem is that I cannot retrieve any info from the device because of the FRP lock (cannot get into device info).
Is there a way to find out which firmware is installed on it right now so I can download and install the correct 6.0.1 firmware?

Easy fix use Odin to downgrade firmware bypass the FRP lock then set phone up to your Gmail etc... Then upgrade I done it before to a FRP locked S7 edge and was pretty easy to do

You cannot root version 6.0. Looks like a root method for another carrier maybe but not Verizon.
Looks like the encrypted bootloader is looking you out.

[Completed] Keep root or disable FRP after root? Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920P

Hey so I was wondering if I could keep my root after installing the default os or something similar.
So I rooted my phone with a custom OS and it worked all fine. I then logged into my google account and worked fine. I restarted my phone and then at the top it just says Custom Binary blocked by FRP.
I have fixed it so I can use it but I was wondering if I could root it and then remove it somehow? That was the only issue I was having when I did that. Rooting worked and everything just I need to know a way to either delete FRP or Get around it where I won't see it again. Hopefully this makes some sense.
Android Version: 6.0.1
Model Number: SM-G920P
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6
If you need anymore info let me know.

Greetings and welcome to assist. This is for the edge variant but the principal is the same, you need to turn off OEM lock

Hi
How can i do this??
Im stuck
If you're stuck on FRP lock at boot, you cannot downgrade, you can only flash with same or newer (original) firmware (I discovered it the hard way- tried over 20 firmwares). Download the latest one for your phone, location (CSC) shouldnt matter, try flashing one item at a time (Pit-> Modem -> Bootloader -> System -> CSC)
The pit file can be extracted from the CSC archive.
Once you complete the flash, you should be able to boot the OS and verify your google account. from there, you should know what to do.
Hope this works for you - I spent 2 days trying to bypass FRP (PITA)
I missed the part where you don't know which Google account you used. That's gonna be a tough one...let us know if you figure it out.

The firmware that you are trying to flash is giving you the sw rev error because that firmware is an older/downgraded version than the version that is already on the phone. You have to flash the firmware that is the same as what is already on the device or a newer version, you can't flash an older version. Find the newest, most updated firmware that you can find for your specific model number.
Do a Google search for:
"Stock firmware for SM-G935FD"
Then find the newest available version that is made for your specific region/carrier.

The device is a G930V. It's common to fake a G930F to sell it second hand.
You need to follow root guide for G930V

Ehhhhh...I think...sorry to say but you...just got an American Verizon model with a Snapdragon 820 SoC with a permanently locked bootloader. I think you can root it in a different way tho, but unless a miracle happens you will be stuck on the stock ROM forever, but it can be rooted. There is a method to root the SM-G930A but IDK if it works with the 930V model. Never knew people rebranded Snapdragon models as Exynos models, scary. Try asking for a refund or a real G930F with Exynos 8890 SoC, you got misled by the seller. If you already had it or got it from a close person then try to get an Exynos one. That rooting method kinda looks dangerous and involves flashing a bootloader. To clarify which model do you REALLY have, install Device Info HW from Play Store

Listen, NO ROOT will work for G930F because the phone is not G930F, someone has just flashed G930F firmware on the phone but the HARDWARE is G930V. Understand? You have been ripped off.
You first need to put G930V firmware back on the phone with Odin, the oldest version of G930V firmware you can find, not the lastest one.

It does not matter that the bootloader is locked when flashing the firmware to the phone, Odin will flash your phone with the correct firmware.

That is not possible, you just can't flash an Exynos firmware on a Snapdragon model. Someone must've faked the info strings or something else. @Netcrying, can you tell me what the following fields say in Device Info HW?
SOC/Family
SOC/Instructions
SOC/GPU
SOC/Cores
SOC/Clusters
System/Platform
System/Fingerprint
System/Device
The SoC details can't be faked in software, so this may give us a clue of what it really is. I suspect it's a Snapdragon one though, but please post these.
My phone says in download mode:
Code:
ODIN MODE
DOWNLOAD SPEED: FAST

CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: OFF
Secure Download : Enabled
WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0X030c)

See my previous post before flashing anything and post the information, a mistake with Odin can be costly here in Samsung land. This will let you know exactly what you have

nevermind, you have a Verizon S7. Root here:

You must flash an engineering bootloader. Good luck, you're on your own now.
