Hello guys, I have a Samsung galaxy S7 G930FD (exynos version) which received the OTA oreo update few months back but whenever i tried to update it gave me error so I tried updating using smart switch but it softbricked my device. I couldn't recover it using smart switch recovery and had to flash the device using odin (which was pretty difficult). So now I want to update the device again but there is no more OTA update though the device is on stock rom and have same software which I had before device got softbricked. I don't want to update the device using smart switch in fear of getting it bricked again, What should I do guys?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S III Verizon (model: SCH-I535) and its currently updated to its latest firmware, I was trying to downgrade/ root it but it wont work it keeps failing on Odin. My purpose was my main question, is it possible that I could flash a stock SGH T999 firmware on my phone? I would be really grateful if someone showed me a step by step process on how this could be done.
And recently I cant do anything with my phone but officially upgrade it. I think when i upgraded its firmware the security suddenly got tighter, can someone help me about this?
My plan was suppose to be (knowing that 4.3 and the latest firmware on my Verizon prevented me from doing anything): to downgrade to a lower firmware version, then flash the T-Mobile stock firmware.
I unrooted my phone via SUapp I had no custom things installed except rooting my phone all i did was flash to the NCG kernel then used towelroot then flashed back to the recent NK2 kernel. I then realized the new update for my galaxy s5 G900V from verizon was inbound today so i un rooted and all that stuff plus i even factory data reseted my phone but it still wont update?! This is what it says- "Sorry, there was a problem updating your SAMSUNG SM-G900V. No changes were made."
Flash the update with ODIN.

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 originally on EE and I had it unlocked to 3. I am unable to do an update as via WiFi and I am presented with the following message, "The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorised way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your PC or visit a customer service centre".
I have been told that the unlocking of the phone has resulted in me not being able to use smart switch and that the phone is no longer connected to the Samsung servers.
The build number is LRX22G.G920FXXU1AOCY
I am using Android 5.0.2. at the moment.
If you're rooted you get that message.
Best thing to do is download your current rom again, flash it with odin and that'll restore everything to stock and allow the over the air update to be downloaded. (It doesn't wipe your phone)
Alternately download the latest rom for your model and flash that in odin and it'll update it.
Not that there is no (easy) way to root 5.1.1 without tripping knox.
How do I know if my phone is rooted or not?
Are there any obvious signs that will indicate whether or not the phone is rooted?
If the phone is rooted, where can I find the correct rom for my device and what are the steps to carry out this process?
Hello Guys,
I had rooted my Samsung Galaxy S6 and had gone to India from UAE. In India I didn't have a computer and I wanted to unroot my s6. So I did a factory reset. So that the SuperSU and things are gone. Now when I try to update it shows not a legal software so I can't update my s6 from 6.0.1.
So I tried to unroot and when I unroot it gives me some RW device 3 error via odin.
Why is this error comming?
My Mobile is GT925 (Model) s6.
Please tell me a way to solve.
Hi there, I am wondering if anyone knows if I can root my Samsung Galaxy S7 7.0, model number SM-G930W8.
Carrier is Rogers, purchased from T-booth.
I am looking to retrieve data I have lost. I tried Dr. Fone but they cannot root an android of 7.0 and said if I can get my phone rooted by another way I can still use their recovery tool.
It seems like I have to download Odin. Just want to make sure I do this correctly.
Thank-you in advance!
Have you successfully rooted your device? I have the same device and problem.
There is another user who rooted an s7 (different model from the Rogers/Telus/Bell version) and used Dr Fone which resulted in a fingerprint sensor error: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/finger-print-sensor-responding-using-dr-t3735296
