Complete Action Using... Facebook Appears TWICE! Why is this happening? - General Questions and Answers

This is really weird and started happening suddenly not long ago.
When I get a notification from the Facebook App and press it, I get the "Complete Action Using..." dialogue, and Facebook appears TWICE as if it's two different Apps.
For the record I've tried selecting either options to test it out, and both just open in the Facebook app, exactly the same.
I looked through my Apps list and Facebook is installed only once.
Since I have a Samsung phone and Facebook is installed as a system app, I wasn't able to uninstall it completely, but I uninstalled all updates, cleared cache and data, then reinstalled.
Nothing helped, I am still getting this dialogue showing Facebook twice.
Of course I can just choose one of the options and press "Always". But I would like to get to the bottom of this...
Anyone have any clues as to why this might be happening?

Same problem here, i have a huawei p30 pro, did you solve it, or found out why it happened ?

Nope! As you can see I never got any replies, yours is the first
I just attributed it to Facebooks bad app design. As both options do the same thing I just chose one and pressed "Always" and never looked back.

[Q] Slow Home Behavior

Hello everyone!
Let me start off by saying that i'm actually using an unrooted, officially update nexus 5, updated to the latest 5.0.1
I have no problem whatsoever, battery really seem to have improved, but lately i've been getting a strange behavior
After a period of use (it goes from a couple of days to a whole week) the phone oddly slows down when i press the middle button, to return back to the homescreen.
For example, if I'm using the facebook app, and watch a couple of videos along with opening a few external links, when i press the home button, the whole home "loads" from start. I mean, i literally see nothing for a second, then it slowly loads widgets and icons. After it's been loaded, everything works flawlessly again, but if i open facebook again, use it for a while and press the home screen, it loads again.
Mind that i have no custom drawer (i tried Themer, it gives me the same error, it says "loading homescreen" when the problem appears) but the problem is still there with the stock homescreen. I tried force-closing the apps i used, thinking about a memory issue, but to no avail. I have to turn off and turn on the device, and everything works wonders again.
Is there any app that could help me with this issue? I'd like to understand why it's doing this and which app is slowing down my phone.

I am not Sure whether this is 100% sure, But have heard that there is a memory leak issue in lollipop. Which might be the reason of ur problem. And the oly way get enough memory is to restart. But again, I am not Sure whether the above information is correct though.

I've heard that too, but it's strange that it has appeared only now. I haven't had this kind of issue ever since i updated it.
The FB app is just real buggy. My personal theory is whatever that app does exposes the Lollipop memory leak.

Yep i know about that, the FB app is just horrible script-wise. Nevertheless, i've never had THIS problem. And even if i forceclose it, it doesn't solve the problem anyway.

Talkback notification won't go away

For some reason, the talkback service has decided to tell me it is activated even though it is not. I have a persistent notification that won't go away. Since it's a system service, there is no way to just hide the notification. Any ideas?
Clearing the cache and rebooting didn't help either.
Did you ever figure this out I have the same problem on sprint. You can't even disable the Talkback app.
Nope. I did a factory/hard reset last night. Still the same issue.
I haven't installed any apps I didn't have on my GS5, so it can't be an app's fault. Going to do an exchange at the AT&T store in the next day or two. I'm not getting stuck with something like this.

This would be a workaround (if it does work), but try tapping and holding on the notification, and then click on the "i" icon to see which app is displaying the notification. If it's a stand-alone app (i.e. not the Android system), then you should be able to block notifications for that app.

Thank you, but it is the system app doing it. I'm just going to swap for a different S6 at the store tomorrow. Got my app data backed up to the cloud thanks to Helium.
The messed up part is it literally happened right when I got my phone. I'm gonna try a factory reset then if not try to get it swapped out
@dizzymatt Still have it? It mysteriously disappeared for me today. I was literally going to go to the store this afternoon to exchange this thing. Maybe I got lucky or sensed I was coming!
Afterward, though, the oddest thing happened. I was looking through the store for a different Google product and came across this one called Google talkback. I thought that was very weird to find right after I had had this issue. When I clicked on it, it allowed me to uninstall it. Never saw it in my apps list or the application manager, but there it was. Again, this is after the notification went away from me so I have no idea if this is related.
Here is the link. Maybe uninstalling it will help you.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.marvin.talkback
Seen what you said and I didn't have the app installed but it just disappeared for me too after I rebooted my phone I wonder what it was.

Now I'm wondering if it was related to Google Now since the notification and the ability to say "Ok, Google from any screen went away about the same time.
Disabling Talk back
I got stuck on a 15 minute hell ride when I accidentally turned on my Talkback feature on my new S6. I couldn't turn it off even after toggling the stupid settings. I finally was able to turn it off by tapping the home screen button three times.. apparently that is the On/Off switch for the accessibility features. After it finally stopped talking back to me I went in to manually toggle the off button on that ridiculous feature.
Same problem / solved ?
I had same problem with notification
Decided I would try enable, so that I could then disable
Seems to have done the job

[Q] What is "Apply phone Settings.." "web setup"

I'm baffled, I've been using my phone for a long while. Just within a day or so I start getting this notification with every reboot;
"Apply your phone settings" / "Click to apply your web setup". I haven't done any updates, except a couple non-HTC apps. I've tried searching for it, but very little comes up, and HTC site is not helpful.
I installed a NAND backup I had from a week ago, the message still pops up. I can't find a setting for it, and can't determine what app it's related to, except it might be related to HTC Sense. Can anyone shed light on this? It's annoying to have my phone behaving without knowing what it's doing.

I know this isn't helpful but I'm having the same issue. I'm using the HTC One remix though. Just started a couple days ago with all reboots. I don't use HTC sense I use a different program so you may be onto something with that. Yes it's very annoying and I'm curious to know what's really causing this.
Next time you get the notification, instead of tapping or dismissing it, long-hold on it (a few seconds) and it should tell you what app is doing the notification.

I'm receiving the same notification repeatedly i.e. "HTC - Apply your phone settings - Click to apply your web setup"
When I hold down the notification, the App that pops up is "HTC Get Started", which is all very strange since my phone is @~ 5 years old, and I have not made any firmware updates recently.

Yes I found that out as well and also have had my phone for almost 2 years now, quite sure I don't need to go through the "Getting Started" setup haha. It hasnt shown up anymore for whatever reason. Must have been some bug or glitch.

Trouble with changing lock screen picture? Help?

So, I've been trying to change my lock screen image (as well as the app screen and such) for my HTC U11 but it will only let me use the default selections and not my own pictures...it was working a few weeks ago but it's really bugging me!
Every time I try to select my chosen images it says "Error: Could not load media" - there's nothing wrong with the image files and I've tried many different ones...
I tried going to the "edit current theme" and such but it just won't work! Even HTC customer support couldn't help me :c

Same here.. I deleted the Sense home data, restarted the phone - nothing worked.
Perhaps it is a problem on HTC's side..

Hopefully it gets fixed soon because it's really bugging me :S If it keeps acting up and if any others apart from us have this issue I might email them to see if they can check it out

However, a friend of mine with HTC desire 530 has no problems haha. Really baffling.

Doesn't work.
Also when I select a pic from the G photos itself, to create a theme for an example - it says the same - could not load media. I deleted also the data for the GPhotos - still doesnt work. I run out of ideas.
Can your gallery see the photos OK? It might be a permission thing. Try deleting gphoto cache and data, reopen the app and see if it asks for permission. The screen saver is linked to the gphoto app so the problem must lie there.

Gallery sees and edits the photos ok. Deleted and reopened everything possible. Nopermissions asked. No luck.
From this point I'll admit I'm stabbing a fish in a barrel. Do you have encrypted storage?.
Out of curiosity, are you trying to change from personalize or display settings?
Try edit current theme under personalize.
The error occurs when I select edit current theme using the Themes app and then try to load a picture from the device
Same Issue
I have the absolute same issue, I uninstalled the whole sense home app (therefore my whole homescreen messed up and all my icons) and it reinstalled itself and I restarted my phone and it worked, however it just updated again and now does the same thing
I'm having the same issue on my HTC 10. I've noticed the problem about 2 weeks ago.
Google photos got an update in the play store and the problem is now fixed.

Chrome freeze showing still image until change app and come back

I have this problem from 1 year, from the day i bought the phone til now ive installed all updates.
Using chrome, after a while, 10 minutes or 1 hour, the page look like freezed, i try to scroll or touch but nothing.
I need to go to another app and come back (also just go to thumbnail view and back) then i see again the page and i see it scrolled until bottom if i did it when it was freezed. I mean that when the page freeze actually is working if i scroll or tap the page change but i need to change app and come back to see. It just appened right now
I've tried chrome beta and dev, same thing
Anybody knows about it?

I have the same problem! It's annoying as hell and I haven't found a solution. It's awesome phone otherwise but this one thing ruins the experience.
I found the solution
In chrome://flags find the "Android SurfaceControl" flag and disable it.
