My samsung GT S6102(galaxy y duos) is rooted and while modifying build.prop , my phone ended up getting into a boot loop. I have a backup of the original build.prop file but am unable to restore it. I am able to enter into recovery mode. Will i be able to install a custom ROM on my phone even though it is getting boot loops? or is there any way to fix the boot loops?

Yes you should be able to install a custom Rom if you have CWM installed and i think you could try to push your Build.prop Backup to your phone using ADB but i dont exactly know how to do that
@OP, if it's rooted then definitely. My HTC Explorer once stuck into boot loop too, I flashed with JaggyRom and it gave me a great experience.
For me, I had to take out the battery and reinsert and then was able to boot into recovery, and from there I flashed it with the custom ROM.
Thank you all
Thank you all who replied, i tried ADB but it was unable to recognize my phone. I am a complete newbie to android but i somehow modified an update.zip file to copy put the build.prop file back to system folder, flashed it in recovery mode and my phone started working again! I am going to be more careful next time, by the way how do i backup and restore using CWM?

Possiblw Solution
A possible solution is to flash back to your original Stock and try rooting again. the stock should get you out of boot loops
Question on rooting.(Not bricked lol),so about a week ago I got into bootloop because I flashed boot.img when I took it out of the Rom file. I want to know if bootloop is normal when you flash the image file before rezipping the Rom and installing the Rom via teamwin recovery. I'm unrooted and boot is locked so I don't need any help with that. so I just wanted to know if I followed the right process. I have read many threads and never seen anything about bootloop being a normal process when flashing boot.IMG before getting into recovery and installing a ROM. Thanks in advance for anyone providing me an explanation.

I know it happened for me -- Sometimes it wont enter recovery for me even in the bootloader and I have to Power+Vol Down to get it back into the bootloader. But it makes sense this would be a normal process because if you flash the boot.img without any OS files to load after it will just boot-loop.
Once I get back into bootloader and can get back into recovery and flash the ROM everything goes well after -- although I'm not sure if you would classify this as the "norm" but it certainly happens for me

I didn't have a bootloop. Mine just sat on the first htc bootscreen and did nothing. I had to do a simlated battery pull to get it to shut off. Generally I flash the rom in recovery then reboot to fastboot and flash the boot.img. This way you don't have to worry about the bootloop or simulated battery pull.
your just supposed to extract the boot.img not the whole rom. you should never be rezipping anything. if you are on windows i hope your using a real archive utility like 7-zip or winrar. just open the zip and drag the boot.img out which extracts it. flash the boot.img in fastboot then flash the rom in recovery.
getting into recovery from bootloader can be a problem at times but i haven't had this problem once since changing over to twrp 2.3.1.0.
Long story short i soft bricked my LG LS665 (Tribute 2),flashing recoveries and boot with the wrong file now i get a secure boot error 1003. I do have a back ups of all my partitions but it is in zip format and have no way to flash it because i can only boot into download mode, no recovery or adb. Does any one know how i can get it to boot into fastboot so i can re flash my backups, I have tried to dd the laf partition as mentioned many times on this forum but does not work. In download mode i can connect through the DIAG com port and use send_command, ls, and such but i do not know where the laf partition resides. it would also be possible to flash the KDZ file also but i can not find one and LG or Virgin Mobile will not hand it out they want to do an in house repair so if i could convert my zip back up to a KDZ that would work but i would not know where to begin on that. Any help is appreciated. TYIA:good:

I've searched Google and found out that I can flash system.IMG back to my phone using fastboot, but I can't do that cos am scared. Flash system.img or whole stock rom in a fastboot mode.
Sup!
My phone is unable to boot due to the error "Could not do normal boot. Invalid KERNEL LENGTH!"
I already downloaded the kernel i need but since i can't even boot into recovery, i need to flash it with odin.
The file format is .zip, i couldn't find it in .tar format and inside of the zip also isn't a .tar but two .img files and some other important looking stuff.
Is there any way that i can flash the kernel back on?
TIA for any help
Will this work, its a bit old but you can give it a shot.
