I formatted /system with CWM mistakenly - General Questions and Answers

Guys pls I need your help, is there anyway to restore my phone. Its stuck in boot logo after mistakenly formatting system. I've searched Google and found out that I can flash system.IMG back to my phone using fastboot, but I can't do that cos am scared. There are more IMG files like boot.IMG, user data.IMG and so on my stock ROM zip file. I can no longer boot to edl and cwm is always showing Installation aborted. I use a vivo y913.
Am a new here pls any help???

Deleted Operating System

Hello,i accidentally deleted my operating system,i tried everything to flash a new one ,every custom roms out there.
The TWRP version is 2.5.0.0
Everytime i execute the ZIP files from TWRP errors appear :
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/BackToBasicsV2.zip'
Error executing updater binary in zip : 'sdcard/BackToBasics'
Could you provide me a working tutorial?I tried every tutorial from here and nothing worked,i don't know what to do anymore.
I had a similar problem in which I accidentally pressed factory reset in bootloader instead of recovery (WHY ARE THEY SO CLOSE?!). Anyway, I ended up having to factory reset from recovery and wipe everything on my phone, then I adb pushed a rom to my phone and it finally let me flash it. Although I recommend waiting until someone else posts something as this is more of a "last resort" lol

Connect your phone to your PC find it in devices and format it... Download twrp 2.3.3 recovery image and install it with fast boot.. Then paste a ROM to your SD card and flash away NP...don't forget the boot.IMG when flashing your new ROM it will have to be flashed with fast boot also..

Fastboot for LG LS665

Long story short i soft bricked my LG LS665 (Tribute 2),flashing recoveries and boot with the wrong file now i get a secure boot error 1003. I do have a back ups of all my partitions but it is in zip format and have no way to flash it because i can only boot into download mode, no recovery or adb. Does any one know how i can get it to boot into fastboot so i can re flash my backups, I have tried to dd the laf partition as mentioned many times on this forum but does not work. In download mode i can connect through the DIAG com port and use send_command, ls, and such but i do not know where the laf partition resides. it would also be possible to flash the KDZ file also but i can not find one and LG or Virgin Mobile will not hand it out they want to do an in house repair so if i could convert my zip back up to a KDZ that would work but i would not know where to begin on that. Any help is appreciated. TYIA:good:

cant update due to twrp recovery

hi all,
today morning i just got an update. when i tried to install it goes to twrp recovery. so i am unable to update. i tried flashing the update zip (copied from android/data/..../cm-bacon-7be...90510ef.zip), it fails in twrp recovery.
now some search resulted that i must go to stock recovery to update that.
i figured that i can flash stock recovery using " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ", but i dont know which recovery to flash. and i am still wondering is it the correct method?(if yes, please take some time to link me to that recovery or just attach recovery of cyanogen).
any suggestions on how to revert to stock recovery or updating manually??
thanks!!!
ps: iam complete newbie, if you find this as duplicate or annoying or anything that prevents to answer above que. please teach me, i am ready!!

Stock recovery:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B98G0KTJwnBFNzBFd2pRMmhvUmc/view?usp=docslist_api
Download it and rename it to "recovery.img", then flash with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I did this today and works perfect:

Boot image patched by other programs!

Dear XDA members,
I am trying to migrate from SuperSU to Magisk.
I already have uninstalled Xposed framework and unroot SuperSU.
But when i try to flash Magisk 16 on TWRP the following error is constantly displayed:
Boot image patched by other programs!
Please restore stock boot image
updater process ede with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file
I restored the boot partition of my latest TWRP backup.
But even after that i still can't succeed.
Do someone know the solution for this problem?
With kind regards,
Arvid

You did something that modified the boot image before your backup. Download the stock firmware and extract it or reflash your phone to stock then reflash twrp and fix data folder and then restore data backup, install magisk. Or you can extract the stock boot image and flash it. If you reflash firmware remember to move twrp backup to sd or pc.
I did download a stock rom. But when i extracted the file i could not find the boot.img. Could you provide me a link from which I can extract the boot.img please? Galaxy S7 SM-G930F NL

where are you looking? Do you see the recovery.img? Its usually in the same place. Use linux and get superrs kitchen and extract the md5 or zip into folders and try that way. On Windows its giving me issues even extracting the md5. Linux is your friend.

In this tutorial the boot and recovery are in the same place. Hopefully this helps
You can also just back up your data copy to pc or sd then reflash stock instead of the boot.img. if you do that make a backup of boot right after booting to twrp and fixing data
