Yesterday as I was using my device just like I normally would. Browsing the web. It suddenly froze. Then it proceeded to shut down and turn itself back on and started the restart procedure. This is normal and since the Tablet is 4+ years old it used to sometimes shutdown during usage and turn itself on again. But this time it didn't. It showed the Amazon logo, went on the shining Fire logo and after staying on it for a while. It shuts itself off and again starts from the Amazon logo. I thought that if I just keep it doing that for a while it would fix itself. Sadly it did not. Luckily though it does boot to the Bootloader and I thought that maybe clearing the cache partitions would do the trick. It did not. Again I thought if I cleared the data it would fix it. That did not work either.
I never tried to root or do anything on that device. I didn't even have playstore installed. I use that device as my daily web browsing machine so I really need it to work.
Please Help
(This is my first ever forum post so please forgive me if I do anything wrong)

Hi, I have a g1 that has suddenly stopped working - when I start it I see the t-mobile screen and then it switches to the android screen and just stays like that and doesnt start.
It stalled while making a call and I was not able to restart it.
I have tried wiping everything from recovery console (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566669) and re-flashing my phone with my old firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811620)
I don't know what's next here - can anyone please help?
some more background:
I had the phone for two years here in the US and have traveled out side of the country with it for several trips with no problems whatsoever, however, this phone I have given to my niece who doesnt live in the US.
The reason i'm saying this is that maybe the cause is a radio problem of some sort...
Let me know if you think of something coz I really don't know what do to next
Thanks,
e.
First of all, wrong section.. (Please post in Q&A)
If you had poked around and used the search feature, i'm pretty sure you can find what you are looking for
but anyhow, you need to flash another rom (via recovery) assuming you have already rooted because you somehow corrupted the system partition.
Thanks for the reply, I tried using cyanogen's mod but it didnt get me anywhere, I will try different mods but could this be a radio issue? is there a way to check that?
p.s. I did a thorough search of the forums and that's how i did all the things b4 posting but then I got stuck...
Hi, sorry I posted in the wrong section, just noticed what you mean.
Can any of the admins move this thread to q&a (or can I do it myself somehow)?
Data?

My friends phone is doing something extremely similar. He gave it to me to play with to make sure he wasn't mad, and it was actually the phone having issues.
Upon playing with it for a few hours problems started to occur. It would randomly shut off, then not want to reboot unless left sitting. It would get after the ROM screen and then shut off. I noticed that that a quick was to crash it was to start browsing the Internet over Wi-Fi. After a few pages loading and moving around the pages as they loaded the poor phone would just turn off.
Since he is using another phone in the mean time, I got his G1 without a SIM card. I was playing games on it, poking around in applications and more and the phone wouldn't turn off. I wasn't till I enabled Wi-Fi that problems started happening. I'm not sure if the Wi-Fi driver is part of the baseband unit or not but it seems that the more data the phone uses (3G or Wi-Fi) heightens its chance of turning off.
To get the phone to boot again I either have to take the battery our for a few minutes or leave it off for a while. Upon which time it will book as if nothing happens.
I also noted that every time it boots it shows an exception error related to "gapps" and you have to click force quit. His phone is running CyanogenMod 4.2. Also the Home key doesn't function, but this is software related because it can turn the screen on.

Hey there!
The last time I powered up the display of my RAZR HD and unlocked it a lot of messages about processes and apps (I can just remember a lot of Google apps and services but I am not sure if there was anything else as well) which stopped working/running popped up (I hope I translated that correctly from German). So I thought it would be better to restart the phone. I turned it off and after a few minutes I tried to power it back on. But it got stuck right at the beginning where the red/white Motorola logo shows up. It never started pulsating. I tried to start it serveral times but it was the same every time. So I laid it down for a few days to make sure the battery is totally empty and after that I tried to start it again but it got stuck at the logo again. The only solution which I found is to reset the phone but I really need the data from the internal storage. My phone is completely stock JB 4.1.2 and was never rooted or unlocked. How can I save my data? If there is a way I would love to hear about it even if it kills my phone.
need to flash stock without erasing data, you can manage that via editing the xml file.
Hi all. 1st post here.
I've been having a lot of trouble with my Galaxy Tab 2 lately. I rooted it a long time ago. Never had trouble with it. A few days ago, after charging it, I tried to start it, but when it starter, after a minute or so, it restarted. Normally the tablet only did that when it was froze due to many apps or processes being used at the same time. The problem is that the tablet never started properly after that one time. It's on some type of infinite loop. It starts, stays on for 1 or 2 minutes and then freezes and restarts. Well, i thought what most people would think at the moment: "I need to reset the tablet". I went to Recovery mod, made the format, but when the tablet rebooted, everything was untouched. No format. Odd to me. I then tried to return to stock. If it after that the problem was still there, at least I could be able to call for warranty. Odin gave me a lot of failed errors when I was trying but there was once that it said "Pass". Rebooted, still the same. Updated the recovery, tried to format, still the same. I'm running out of options right now. I don't really know what can be the problem and how can I fix it. I thought that if there was a way to format it like in recovery but using my PC it would do something (or not)
I appreciate any type of help.
I've had the phone for over 6 months, it'd belonged to my sister before and everything was fine. I got a new phone recently and stopped using J. Just turned it off and put aside. I turned it back on today, it was working fine, until I wanted to do a wipe, nothing happened afterwards. I've had 360 security installed, thought it may be causing problems, so I uninstalled it. Then the phone was supposed to reset and so it did, but it didn't start again. Until this moment it hasn't shown even one sign of life, no random vibrations, no diodes flashing. I read about taking out the battery, powering it for hours, turning on with power+vol, power-vol, whatever. Nothing worked. When I connect it to the PC, it recognizes that something is being connected, tries to install a driver but immediately I get a message that it's failed. Any idea how I may solve this?

if so, u may contact ur product manufacturer or where did u buy ur xperia j.,.
Gday everyone.
I just got this phone and since it was first powered on I've had issues. I will likely be going back to the carrier tomorrow and asking for a replacement, but wanted to put my experience down here. Ive looked at a lot of other threads, but all of them involve unlocking of bootloader, flashing etc - I havent done ANY of this (yet). Its fresh out of the box.
Location: Australia
Carrier: Optus
Model: MHA-L09 (cant access extended model number)
So first up, had issues connecting to the carriers in-store wifi, which uses a captive portal.
When I finally got it going I was presented with a Chinese site - id accept this usually considering it is Huawei.
This phone is a replacement for my dead Note4 and as such I wanted to restore apps, as I had no internet, I skipped the process.
Got back to my office and connected to my wifi fine, so decided to factory reset to get a fresh start.
Noticed that after reset the initial process was in a different order. Restored from Google and all apps downloaded, happy days for a couple of hours, just waiting for my service to port over.
2 hours later, I decide to restart the phone, it gets hung up on the Optus logo which is displayed before the reboot starts.
Hard reboot.
System loads, I figure I may as well see about a firmware update. Get 'Package installer isn't responding' errors. Try again, works, no updates available.
Go to google photos, get 'Package installer isn't responding' error.
At this point I think, f**k - what is going on here.
So I reboot into recovery to wipe the cache. This processes fine, but then the option to reboot the phone doesn't work.
Hard reboot.
Boots into recovery without me touching it.
Hard reboot. - happens again.
So then I think, fine ok, I've upset the balance, lets do a factory reset.
Factory reset hangs on 99% for over 30 minutes.
Against better judgement - hard reboot.
Now I have the EMUI logo with a nice round 0% under it... and that's where its staying.
Thoughts?
I have to fly interstate on the weekend and cant really afford unreliable comms. Should I ditch the Huawei?
Thanks all.
So - it seems that nowhere did i find a mention of the fact that if i plug it into my PC and goto the recovery mode, it loads eRecovery. Whilst this didnt actually work (I believe it only works for CN firmware) It did give me a shutdown option. I shut it down and started it again and im back into a fresh install.
Lets see how I go now...
Never restore backups from other phone.
Wow, helpful.
I didn't restore the backup from another phone, just apps, ie google downloaded the apps I selected.
The device is still performing poorly, even a standard reboot does not succeed, instead it hangs on the carrier logo before actually rebooting.
Ill take it back to the store tomorrow and ask for another one, im hoping Ive just gotten a dud.
