hello
so the power button of my lenovo A1000 completely broke, as in there's no way I could just remove it and just use a sharp object
it's currently turned off completely and I can't turn it back on, I tried charging in it hoping it would turn on , the charging screen shows up but nothing else much
I also tried adb program but it turns out I dont have the usb debugging option checked and obviously I can't turn it on
any help is appreciated
Replace the switch.

So my friend's nexus 5 is turning on but the screen is just staying black, like just the backlight is on. The phone seems to fine, he's getting notifications and everything, however the touchscreen doesn't work either.
The phone is pattern locked and ADB wasn't enabled, is there anything I can do?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Could we back it up and flash it although it's pattern locked and USB debugging wasn't enabled before?
The phone is flashed, but I'm not sure if he has root anymore, it might have been broken by an update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
long press the power button, about 20-30 seconds. this will power it off/reboot it.
So today I was using my phone and then i could turn the screen back on. So i pulled out the battery and tried to turn it back on, however it didnt work. I tried plugging in the charger, but there wasn't any orange charging light (it was on around 60-50% battery when it stopped working). I tried connecting it to a pc, but there was nothing, i couldnt access the sd card and there was nothing on the device manager. I tried doing the volume down and power button and other stuff, after a while i managed to get the phone to boot up but it died before it made it to the lock screen (not charging). Is there away to fix it?

Try removing your battery and then plug in the cable connected to PC USB. I would also try doing the same with a unix based system, just to be sure that there are no driver issues(though windows should at least show an unrecognised device in device manager).
Also, can you keep it on charge for some time and see if the phone feels a bit hot...? If not, it seems to be hardware fault.

Maybe your phone is bricked, but the way you explained it seems like a hardware problem !
Do you have warranty ?
Hey everybody. I was looking the old threads, trying to find a solution to my problem but i didn't find anything.
I believe my power button is stuck!
The Moto G keeps turning on, and on, and on, and always takes the same time to turn itself off.
The screen keeps turning on, and then it freezes on the Motorola white screen, and then vibrates and turn itself off after 4 secs.
The same happens on recovery, after 4secs it turn itself off and then turn on again in the white screen.
When the problem started i thought it was a kind of soft brick then i've did everything i could to try to fix it reinstaling some software, then I noticed the time to turn it of/restart was equal on the normal boot or in the recovery. I realized that I could open the cellphone and when I connect the battery without pressing the power button he keeps ON when i'm in the recovery, then I flashed a ROM to make sure it wasnt a softbrick and now i'm concerned that somehow my power button is stuck.
Does anyone know what can I do to fix it? :/
Thanks,
Sorry for my poor English, it's easier when reading, but its really hard writing.
Whenever i use the power button, it wont turn on. When i plug it in, its bootlooping on the google logo(which means this might be a power button issue)
Does anyone else have a solution?
Ive tried:
1. Smacking on a table
2. Disassembling, cleaning the mother board switch
3. Adding paper to the rubber power button
4. Constantly pressing the power button
5. Applying pressure and pressing the back part of the switch inside the motherboard and pulling
6. Magnet things
Anyone else got another solution? and i wonder, how do i get the files i have with this phone, i really have important files that i havent backed up yet. I havent turned on usb debugging on the phone
Once it shows the logo , keep tapping on the power button in a rate of one press/second until it continues booting completely and switch on.

So my S8's screen cracked and digitizer gone, no response. So I purchased usb-c to hdmi with additional usb port. Was working great to transfer info to new replacement S8. That was until the old S8 battery started to die. So I thought to put into power saving mode without knowing that power saving mode disables usb accessibility functions, thus disabling my external monitor, mouse and access. I can access my old S8 for 2 seconds on ext monitor and mouse to try and disable power saving mode in those 2 seconds before power save turns on, but the screen has a lock on it and there is no way I'm going to unlock it and disable in 2 seconds. SO,
Is there a way to disable power save using only buttons? I have successfully booted into safe mode, but lock still present. With power save on, computer doesn't recognize, nothing usb works except charging im guessing. Thanks for your help!
Can you let the phone remain on to drain the battery out. Then plug in and fully charge. Turn on after fully charged. I think it will go back to normal . . . ?
