So my S8's screen cracked and digitizer gone, no response. So I purchased usb-c to hdmi with additional usb port. Was working great to transfer info to new replacement S8. That was until the old S8 battery started to die. So I thought to put into power saving mode without knowing that power saving mode disables usb accessibility functions, thus disabling my external monitor, mouse and access. I can access my old S8 for 2 seconds on ext monitor and mouse to try and disable power saving mode in those 2 seconds before power save turns on, but the screen has a lock on it and there is no way I'm going to unlock it and disable in 2 seconds. SO,
Is there a way to disable power save using only buttons? I have successfully booted into safe mode, but lock still present. With power save on, computer doesn't recognize, nothing usb works except charging im guessing. Thanks for your help!
Can you let the phone remain on to drain the battery out. Then plug in and fully charge. Turn on after fully charged. I think it will go back to normal . . . ?

Any way to have the Touch Pro operate on external power only when plugged in, leaving the battery alone if I have it set to not charge when connected to a computer?
Sometimes I hook my phone up and turn off the charging feature because I don't need it to be charging. It would be nice if it would run off the external source in those instances so that the battery does not continue to drain while the screen is active or I'm messing with the phone.
you might be able to pull the battery out.... but i don't know why you wouldn't just set it to charge? Its not going to kill your battery to do so and you will have more power later.
ok so i've had conflicting answers telling me;
1. not possible
2. it's the kernel
3. it's the rom
i need to power on my galaxy tab 2 (7) from fully off when charging starts (it has a cable constantly plugged in but it needs to boot up to the os (instead of the charging icon) when the power is applied.
what do i need to do this?
what controls this function?
Chainfire had an app (NoMoarPowah!) that let you manually hit a restart button on screen (this is fine) but since ics; the only function i need from the app (power on via the touch of the screen) doesn't work.
I've contacted Chainfire to see if he will update the app but no response.
I have no access to the hard buttons on my tablet which is why I need this feature. I can't use sleep mode because if the phone ever dies or runs out of battery while the charging is off i wont be able to turn it back on
is there some alternative i can do?
Pulled my bone-stock (with current OTA updates) Nexus 5 out of my pocket and the screen was already on. It was asking for an encryption password to decrypt the data on the phone. I figured it may have turned on in my pocket and the pocket movement caused too many pattern unlock attempts. I turned it off and went about my business for a bit. Now the phone won't turn on.
It does not respond to being plugged into a known working usb cable and usb charger.
It does not respond to being placed on a known Qi wireless charger (the charger does indicate a connection).
My computer recognizes it as a QHSUSB_BULK device, but cannot find/install drivers for it.
Tried every power combination of vol-/power, vol+/power, vol+-/power.
Any suggestions?
Sounds like you busted your bootloader. I guess even the secondary won't come up?(Both volume keys and power button)
secondary bootloader fix attempt
Unfortunately my phone did not respond to those combinations of power/vol buttons.
My phone's battery has been bad for a while now, and its just been sitting in a desk for about a year. I replaced the battery since my sister wanted to use it and upon turning on the phone again, I am getting screen feedback but only in the form of a black screen. I don't see any bootup screens, even if I try to go into recovery mode. Once again, the screen still lights up black if I do things like plug in the charger or press the power button. I've reseated the display cable and battery cable but to no avail. HiSuite recognizes that it's plugged in (although I can't do anything because HDB is disabled). Anyone have any ideas on why the screen is dead?
Make sure all connections are firmly connected.

I also tried adb program but it turns out I dont have the usb debugging option checked and obviously I can't turn it on
any help is appreciated
