Someone here might have a plan though.

I have recently purchased a Pixel 4 XL, in order to root it I have enabled USB debugging however the option of OEM unlock is greyed out, that means I won't be able to unlock the bootloader. I want to root my phone in order to install Substratum...

[Exynos] How to Unlock the Bootloader

Hi Guys!
The S7 ( Exynos 8890 variant ) is my first Samsung Device and while it works really well I'm just not sure on how to Unlock the Bootloader. With my previous Sony Devices you can just visit Sony's website and get done with it but after asking some friends they told me to just enable the OEM Unlock button. Is enabling gonna let me flash custom ROMs / recoveries and custom kernels? They also told me to be careful about flashing custom bootloaders (?)
If someone can just kindly explain on what this is or how will I unlock the bootloader it would be really appreciated
Thanks alot!!

Hi Mate
To OEM unlock is very easy on the exynos models . only the Qualcomm ( US variant) is kind of tricky in our model is allow to do it with the click of a button , you have to:
Go to Settings / About device / Software info / Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer
Once developer options are enable ( you will see it under Settings) enter there you will see the option OEM Enable, if you are planing to root or flash any custom rom or recovery you need to enable it , flashing with out enabling this option is risky
Flashing is always risky but if you follow the instructions should no be a problem

Isnt there the knox varranty flag, too? As it was there on earlier devices, it should be present on s7.
Root with 0x0 would be nice, but impossible, or? My s5 is not root friendly and I dont wanna lose my 0x0 state... So our S7 has also this behaviour of triggering the knox flag, I guess.
Bad times for having root on sammies phones...

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I'm having a weird issue. So, I got my S7 a few days ago used, and discovered that the previous owner had already tripped Knox so I figured I might as well root to have all the various benefits. Well, I got a bit too impatient and rushed through the procedure I was reading, so I ended up rooting without changing the OEM Unlock option in Developer Options. Root was still successful and I have SuperSU installed and a few other root apps installed, all working fine. But once I realized I hadn't enabled OEM Unlock, I figured I would just go back into settings and change it.....except it's not there. The option is simply gone from Developer Options, even though I KNOW I saw it in there sometime before rooting.
Can anyone help me? I want to flash TWRP but I'm afraid to do so without having checked that option, and I don't understand why it disappeared from the menu!
Guys,
A quick question. Did anyone try flashing AOSP based roms on this device? I do a research before purchasing it. I love Lineage OS and wondering if this Exynos model works well with it.

My OEM unlock setting under developers options is greyed out. I think it might be because of the motherboard replacement i got. Anyway to fix it?

My dad's S7 edge had this issue when I was trying to flash lineage OS on it for him. I re-flashed the original firmware (Had a HK version but phone was repaired once in the US) and using odin and that fixed it for him at least. Not sure if it was a different firmware issue or just some bug.

How to unlock G920W8 bootloader? No OEM unlock in settings...

Hello.
I want to root my S6 G920W8, Android 7.0. There is no option to "allow OEM unlock" in settings. Does that means the bootloader is locked?
How can I unlock and root my phone?
Thank you so much.

SM-S205DL (Straight Talk Model)

Hi all,
I have a Straight Talk Galaxy A20, model SM-S205DL. Will root instructions work for this model? I don't notice an OEM unlock option in the Developer Mode menu, but I can boot in download mode. Thoughts? It's been a while since I tried to install custom firmware.

Okay. Is there a way to do that other than the developer options menu? If the OEM unlock option isn't there, is there some other method?

Some places claim to be able to change the CID of the phone. Would that help? I imagine once able to load different non-TFN BS firmware on the phone that magic developer option may appear. Or is it a hardware thing and the exynos chip has something to do with it? Not sure how it all works yet. Anyone know what the unlocked us retail model contains?
I'm not smart enough to find out so hopefully someone is and reads this and can chime in regarding all the points...

Motorola Moto G82

Hi everyone
I'm not sure the section is correct, but in the Motorola section I didn't find the dedicated section and I didn't find a Generic Motorola section
I asked if there is news for the rooting and modding for the Motorola Moto G82 5G https://www.motorola.it/smartphones-moto-g-82-5g/p which I intend to purchase. The international name is likely to be different, but I was unable to find it
Ps
Sorry for my English, I use an online translator
Hopefully soon, looks like a good phone

Read better the guide I linked...
The unlock code must be used with the fastboot command on PC
For boot.img you extract from original firmware file with 7Zip or WinRAR. To download the original firmware see this guide

This Tutorial I'm doing to get root on our device, I know there are several similar threads, so I gathered the information from them, I've done this post to achieve it in a way easier and faster, without the need to search for thread by thread...

'Enable OEM Unlock' not working?

This is happening to me on a Samsung s7... I was able to install a form previously, but then I went back to the official version using Odin.
Now when I click the OEM unlock and 'Enable', the button turns itself off Any ideas?

Since you have unlocked the bootloader, you won't do it again. You have to lock it first, if possible (I have no experience with this model).
