I bought my gf a V50 Sprint Unlocked that she has been using on MetroPCS (Metro by T-mobile)It used to work fine until now but she recently moved to Evanston (near Chicago) and now she keeps losing network.
If she turns off 5G and keeps on LTE there is just no network. (but if it loses 5G automatically and switches to LTE, it works fine)
I remember this code that the seller gave me which is supposed to unlock the phone, MetroPCS used that code when I went to them.
Is there something one has to do when area/state (location) is changed?
Also is there any workaround for the video calling feature yet, I think that's related to VoLTE?
Nothing.?? bump

Hello guys
I tried searching for this problem but got nothing that would help, so am posting here.
Issue:
I recently bought LG G3 from someone. The phone is unlocked to work on all networks (AT&T branding on the rom exists though). I am using it outside of USA and it works fine. However I am unable to get 4G speed on my 4G enabled sim. I tried this sim on other phones, and other sims on mine. It is evident that it's my phone that is not supporting the 4G speed, despite showing the 4G logo up top, when data is enabled.
Things I've checked:
I have checked the bands (1800) that my model support and verified it with my network to confirm that it should run their 4G service.
The phone is not rooted.
The sim is functional and has no lock on it.
Checked with hardware checker apps to confirm that my phones supports these bands.
I am not sure if it should root it, or what. I would really appreciate your guidance on the matter.
you need u-sim and 4g data plan for make 4g work, check if u have all of this.
Hello
Yup, as mentioned in the details, I all of that.
Make sure ure apn is for lte or 4g i got stuck with a old apn from my provider once and only edge speeds
Heads up for anyone who uses this phone. I got a couple of these unbranded open market 2g/16gb model 2005-5 via the Visible deal a while ago and tried to activate on Tello and Textnow. Bottom line, the phone will activate but it WILL NOT have LTE speed data. This effectively makes the phone useless to utilize with the TextNow free talk and text plan. It CAN be used with Tello as long as you are good with talk and text and ~128kbps data speed. The funny thing about this entire issue is that the phone works FINE with Sprint proper! Talk/Text/Data all function on Sprint but WILL NOT function on a Sprint MVNO. I have a feeling that this is probably due to APN programming issues (which cannot be done on a stock ROM) It seems the phone is setting a 1x default APN vs the proper MVNO LTE APN. Consultation with Tello Customer Service reveals that this has been an on-going issue for at least 3 months with no ETIC on the horizon. Lastly, if you are wondering WTH I am trying to use the phone on a Sprint MVNO, let me tell you Tello is hands down a great deal, provided you have good Sprint coverage in your local area.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been fighting with mine trying to get LTE all day. Guess I'm going back to my Galaxy S5.
No ETIC
I've gone direct to Lenovo with the issue and after comprehensive troubleshooting and banter back and forth there is no solution to using a moto E6 on a sprint MVNO due to the APN programming issue. The phone will work fine on big Sprint proper but you will suffer degraded or completely unusable LTE function if you activate this phone on a Sprint MVNO for the foreseeable future. All this could easily be solved IF a custom ROM for the e6 could be made wherein it allows the APN settings to be set manually. As with the Moto E 2015 you can activate the phone on an MVNO with the stock rom and then flash the custom rom and manually set the APN to get LTE speed.
Just bought a Moto E6 from Visible. Pop in a 516TQ SIM and I got service. I didn't test the speed but it seems fine with LTE logo.
If I put in the Visible SIM (uses Verizon) or T-Mobile SIM, I can see and change VPN. But with the Tello SIM, the APN cannot be changed. There is simply no manual for APN. However, data is still programmed properly and I can make phone calls and use data. I guess this is fixed from the network side. Now I am wondering if this is also fixed on Moto E4 from Boost.

I also have E6 and also was wondering if its compatible with Tello.... How are you using it on Tello if only Verizon CDMA frequencies are supported? Also, are you using Tello SIM or Sprint SIM?
I am currently using Samsung S4-L720 with Sprint SIM on Tello. It activated and works without a glitch. I wanted to switch to Motorola e6 but tello website says E6 is not compatible with Sprint Sim (which is what currently use on tello) . Do I need to buy some dedicated Tello Sim then?

While Visible uses Verizon network, the E6 sold by Visible is a factory unlocked phone that works with all 4 major providers.
I used a Sprint SIM SIMOLW516TQ ("D" SIM). I got it some time back for $1 (4 SIMs pack) from Amazon.
Will an unlocked TMobile version of this phone work on an existing Verizon line without having to ask verizon to white list the imei or add cdma less etc?

I have Unlocked T-mobile A71 5G, It works on Verizon network like 4G LTE (just swap the SIM card even I have 5G Sim card from Verizon) but NO 5G because they are using different 5G Band.
I have the same question, but on cricket wireless, I can't get the phone to login to their network
It works just fine on any GSM/LTE network. I have not checked this personally for this device, but depending on the variant you have, you may be missing some LTE or 5G bands specific Verizon. You may not get full performance. That must be verified though.
I recently purchased the POCO x3 NFC 128GB version (International) and it arrived yesterday.
I placed in the Simcard and nothing happens.
I call into MetroPCS to verify the IMEI and they say the phone is not compatible with their service so they are unable to get it to work.
From what I read it should be working fine since MetroPCS is considered a GSM band and should work as like t-mobile but yet both pages verify that my phone does not work on their service.
IS there any way to go about this or any service provider that will allow me to use the phone?

Received my Global version Poco X3 6/128 couple days ago. v 12.0.4.0 QJGMIXM.
I noticed the white multi-lingual instruction booklet displays incorrect installation positioning of Sim2.
That is the beveled edge of sim2 should sit diagonally opposite what is shown in the booklet.
To be clear, my SIM 1 shares the micro sd position & sits as per booklet. Sim 2 is not as per booklet.

I have the same problem did you find a solution or should i return the phone
Hi, looks like the phones will work fine on T-Mobile in urban areas, the Poco seems to have the same supported bands as my Redmi Note 7. If you haven't done so yet go to the phone app and dial ##86583##, this will make a Voice over LTE toggle visible in the SIM card settings. Turning it on will enable your phones to place calls over the LTE network. Here's a webpage that has steps for you: https://www.xiaomist.com/2020/07/what-is-volte-and-how-can-you-activate.html?m=1
Has anyone here ordered an unlocked Z flip 3 from 5g directly from Samsung and currently using it on AT&T in the US? I am trying to confirm that the phone will be able to access AT&T's 5g network. I've seen conflicting info out there. I don't want to buy it if it won't get 5g.
Works fine on my wifes flip 3, and also for the record on my fold 3.

Thanks for the info because I prefer the unlocked version over the one with the carrier garbage on it
Hopefully your 5g is better than Verizon's. I get significantly better speeds on 4g. The most I've seen on a 5g speed test (and ive done many from many locations) is 7Mbps and I'm in an excellent coverage area for Verizon... although when it comes to 5g you can't tell where coverage is because the map combines it with 4g.
Verizon also combines (I'm probably saying this wrong) multiple 4g data streams together and calls it 5g and from my experience it's terrible.
I actually asked Verizon if there was a sim card I could get that would just allow for 4g since there is no disable 5g setting on the Verizon version but there is on every other carrier...uhg.
Anyways they said yes, I got 2 new sims and... I still saw 5g and I still have the wonderful battery drain from the phone constantly trying to get a 5g signal. Terrible.
I have this exact same setup and I don't have 5g either, logo doesn't show up or anything. I went to the att store and asked about a sim card and they said that shouldn't matter, I had them look up my plan and apparently I don't have a 5g plan (I'm using a line on my dad's plan). It would be nice, but I've accepted it for now. I've gotten pretty decent battery life from the start and I think it might be because I don't use 5g
I have the Samsung unlocked model and am with At&t. When am out and about at the top I do see it says 5G but in Miami we have no 5G enable yet but it does seem like it would get 5G once that enable. Once in a while i do loose that 5G signal and it drops down to LTE but for like a few seconds only than it jumps back to the 5G signal.
