[Q] Can I upload the nexus binaries to github for my rom?

Hey there!
I started a new project for a new ROM based on AOSP with some friends and wanted to know if I am allowed to upload the vendor binaries from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers?hl=de#hammerheadktu84q to my github for including it in the build?:silly:
CouldnĀ“t find an answer in the license myself but I saw that it has been uploaded already in some git repos.
Thanks for your help again!
yes
Why wouldn't you be able to?

fairphone - lineage 14.1

Code is here:
https://github.com/chrmhoffmann/android_device_fairphone_FP2
https://github.com/chrmhoffmann/android_kernel_fairphone_msm8974
https://github.com/chrmhoffmann/proprietary_vendor_fairphone
Will upload a flashable zip soon.
Please remember: this is a wip and not an official lineage bringup. The source code does not fullfil lineage code quality as of now:
- CVEs are missing
- SELinux is switched off
- Code is garbage.

Try this:

What is not working:
- Device encryption. Don't try it.
Good job, running this now on my FP2.
The link is broken...
Active development is done here: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/porting-lineageos-to-fp2/27530
Check there for the most recent version. And if you want OTA updates, check: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/lineageos-14-1-with-ota-updates-for-fp2/29441

How to compress source code downloaded from github and make executable zip file.

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I have lenovo a3000 h tablet and I am searching for custom ROM for it.
Only one person around the world has developed custom ROM ie., CyanogenMod cm11 for it and uploaded it to some website but that site currently is not in use I mean it is dead.Fortunately he has uploaded source code to git hub. I have searched the ROM zip file in web but not found.
I know that in the open source world if we have source code we can compile it and create software. I have downloaded all source code file's from github.
I am providing the address below
https://github.com/lenovo-a3-dev/android_kernel_lenovo_mt8389?files=1.
Can any one of you suggest a way how to create a ROM zip file so that I can flash using custom recovery like cwm or twrp.
I know that the task is complex but suggestions from all are helpful.
Regards,
Rupesh.

Your best bet is to post this question within one of the following thread Guides that's Github specific.

I DO NOT provide support via PM unless asked/requested by myself. PLEASE keep it in the threads where everyone can share.
I think that it is impossible to create a ROM from source code as it needs lot of theories and also 150 GB of hard disk space.
I came to above decision because I have read in some website.

Error Building NitrogenOS from source for Google Pixel (Sailfish)

Hello fellow forum users I am trying to build NitrogenOS Pie for Sailfish. I have the LineageOS kernel and TheMuppets vendor image.
The build script gives the following error: "Cannot have overlay in vendor tree"
I can attach any of the files from my build folder if needed, once my post count is high enough. I tried the solution from Github actually for OpenGApps for this error. It did not work. I can't post any links as I don't have a high enough post count.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

[Kernel][6.0][for developers] M-Kernel by Metallice

Hi guys,
I want to present my port of M-Kernel, which was originally made by Metallice. This port has exactly the same functionality as the latest release from Metallice (a77), but was ported from Android 5.1 to Android 6.0.
Since this is a testing build only, it is currently provided as zImage only. You have to manually concatenate my kernel with the ramdisk of the ROM of your choice to be able to flash and use my kernel. For concatenating, you can use mkbootimg (click here), which is provided in my Github account.
You can get the source code and the kernel binary from Github (click here).
WARNING!!! This software is provided without any warranty. You use it at your own risk, although it is very unlikely for your device to get damaged due to my kernel.
I hope you enjoy my kernel! Feel free to ask questions about it, but please read the original M-Kernel thread before!
Best regards,
Oebbler
Thank you so much!
Something I didn't have the time or the skills to do!
I created an anykernel script for myself.
here
Hello,
If you are using Omnirom 6.0.1 by daniel_hk, you can flash the attached boot.img either with fastboot or with the TWRP image flasher. This boot.img contains my port of M-Kernel and the ramdisk files for Omnirom 6.0.1.
If you are not using Omnirom 6.0.1, you can try this image as well, but it may not work as expected. Please make sure you have a recent backup before modifying your device!
