Thank you help me.
The problem with a title as an entire post is that the title is way too long or the post is way too vague.
Where are you trying to change resolution? Games? Camera? Everywhere?
Have you tried any apps or settings already that didn't work?
Are you rooted? Are there any solutions you would prefer not using (ie. not an app)?
Settings -> Display -> App Scaling allows you to turn off the fullscreen stretch for specific apps, but I don't know the exact resolution it becomes.

Hi,
I'm having a weird problem I don't even know where to post. I recently created a picture which is perfectly visible in the gallery, and browser. But when I set it as wallpaper, I can see very visible banding effects. Is this a software bug or a hardware issue?
The wallpaper in question is linked below here:

Thanks.

Try using an app called Wallpaper Set & Save. I use it and it makes the banding and detail look much better. Hope this helps!
Hey, I tried it. Thanks, it works well. Though one wonders what's the problem with the default one.
I think because of the ability to resize it, it must do something weird.
Launcher Pro widgets can do this too unless you use High Quality mode.

Abandoned, because don`t work with ICS firmwares and I have no idea, how fix it at now
Allows you to adjust the RGB values, change the sharpness and color temperature for Dynamic, Standard and Movie modes.
All changes are applied immediately.
This is not a service or background process.
After making changes you can uninstall the app and settings will stay in.

Im also getting the force close LOL but my colors are not screwed up but no difference now between standard and dynamic, looks like its stuck to dynamic ~_~
Doesn't look much different to Screen adjuster.
There doesn't appear to be a gamma curve calibration which is what is really needed.
so any suggestion to reset settings? now im getting only force closes :/
I Can't even try.
When I click the "download" link I end-up with this

i think this program can be very usefull fpr galaxy note. I made some settings within color banding became not so big. Please test my solution and say is it better a bit. Firstly go to settings-display-screen mode and choose dynamic.Download attached zip file, extract and then overwrite files to system/etc. Go to settings again and choose standart and then reboot your phone. Please test this and leave feedback.

try again get fc
crashes when I try to launch it on my Galaxy Note (GT-N7000) (Android 2.3.6)
Tried the APP and no FC.
I can adjust color temp. Playing with other settings does nothing on my phone.
the IM2 movie plays pretty nicely on my note color banding wise. I only have some black clipping in some of the deepest dark areas at the end of the sequence.
Cannot test it
somehow not compatible with Speedmod kernel ...force closes....
Any good values to try? I know it is subjective but would be nice to know.
I think that voodoo screen tuning app doesnt work anymore after installing this app. can anyone confirm?

I went with values halfway between Standard and Dynamic. So only upped sharpness and saturation. Dynamic is just too much but this is a happy medium. My settings don't address black banding. Go with Movie mode settings for that remedy. But even then this app does not adjust gamma so it will only go so far
Hi there
I managed to change the dpi to 440 in build.prop and it looks lood for the icon size but the contents like Chrome, etc still showing the default size. I compare it with my old S3 and I would prefer a smaller size. ANy idea?

Hello there. Unfortunately I don't know of any app that can do what you are asking about. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. Lol
Anyways that function is a common feature on paranoid android. Not sure if they implemented it yet. Wouldn't hurt to go over to their thread and check it out for yourself

so there is no way to makes the text size inside the apps looks smaller/match with the resolution size? changing the dpi only reflects the homescreen icon, etc but not the content inside the apps

Omg I misunderstood your problem. Yes there's ways to do that. For system text reduction there's an option in display and lights under settings that can do that. I also believe nova launcher is capable of doing that too.

not really my point. eg. when i go into chrome and view the same page with my S3, they both showing the same text size eventhough the N5 is fullhd and S3 is 720p. can i make it to show more contents compare to S3?
Have you tried xposed per app DPI? You will have to be on dalvik since it's not compatible with art.

No as I would like to get OTA on the spot instead of waiting for it.
Just uninstall xposed when ota shows up

AppSettings Xposed 1.13 doesn't seem to work correctly (e.g. changing DPI works but resolution is the same). Is there another way?
I down-scaled my OPO's resolution to 720p from 1080p and now the map in Waze has bigger icons. Changing the global DPI doesn't help as everything but the map elements change. Here is how it's like: http://imgur.com/a/vsW7L (didn't show the full map to avoid giving out private info)
I've tried Screen Shift (playstore) also, but it's kinda wonky. So I'm looking for a way to make Waze think I'm still using 1080p.

Faster/less heat/more battery especially when gaming. That's what I noticed, though YMMV

Why not go lower frequency on cpu and be ok? games use GPU so you'll be fine if you use e.g. 2GHz instead of 2.5GHz(@2.45)
If you want to cripple your phone you can do 480p, underclock it to 1.5GHz cpu and 300MHz gpu(due to 480p you won't need much gpu horsepower) and the phone should last more than 2 days easy

Why would I want to underclock when I want it to be faster? I certainly do not want to cripple my phone as you are suggesting, but I find there isn't much of a difference to the screen between 720p and 1080p.
Anyway, back on topic of how to make Waze appear correctly on 720p in OPO. Thanks.

Just use 1080p, it doesn't have much difference(my above message was irony ). I'll tell you one secret, all displays have only one resolution aka native resolution, in every other resolution they don't display things properly
If you insist in keeping that config and it's only issue is in a particular app, I'd suggest you talk to the dev, he might be able to help you much better than most of us here :good:
You can use app settings, at least on android 5.1, haven't tested it on 6.0.1 yet though.
To do it I needed to change selinux from enforced to permissive. I can't remember if I used a custom app settings either but here's the one I used.
https://mega.nz/#!MYMnVZbJ!mFtkWpSlKuM7GP9Lj1gsnmNNLJuokLy9_lCpgd79TPw
Edit: it works on android 6.0.1 with dirty unicorns ROM. Don't know if you need to change selinux on this but I did anyway. You have to reboot after applying settings though.
For my settings app I have DPI at 280 and font scaling at 140 screen (dp) is 800x1200. That enables the tablet look. Some themes disable tablet mode too, so try stock theme before using app settings.
my phone currently have 240 dpi as default.. btw here is the specs https://pinoyscreencast.net/item/cherry-mobile-omega-lite-2/
so i wanna know if i can change it to 180 or 160 dpi and what will improve to my phone after lowering it.. thanks..

it only makes things smaller on a screen. So, you can fit more stuff on a screen.

I don't think it will affect on camera or recording because it only related to display.
If you are trying to change screen dpi with build prop editing then it having a chances of bricking your device if anything goes wrong.
Instead of use "app settings" app to change dpi per app basis. But it requires xposed framework installed to be work.
Oh I have the same DPI and I lowered it to 180 easily... It won't affect the quality of anything and won't ruin anything..
You'll feel weird at the beginning then you're gonna get used to it
Just get a Root Browser then go to /system/build.prop then search for " ro.sf.lcd_density=240" and change the number to 180, save then reboot
