You can only unlock using the miunlock app and their website. 168 wait will be required..
If you follow the guide below, it should be alright.
All the tools are listed there already in 1 package to download.
just read through it first and try to follow step by step with the pictures and videos and use the downloaded package(XiaomiToolV2 for the unlocking bootloader process, i had troubles using the other "mi flash unlock" for the bootloader).

I found the following procedure to root my Honor 6X, but it seems to not list a few steps I've seen in other places, such as unlocking the bootloader. Do I need to unlock it with this guide? If so, how do I do so? What else is missing?
Guide: huaweiflash.com/how-to-root-huawei-honor-6x/
Thanks.

The first step in this procedure is install TWRP. If you followed the link on how to install TWRP then you wouldn't be asking this question.
The first step actually isn't TWRP but unlocking the bootloader, mandatory in way to proceed with everything else. Since that Crapwei has stopped support in doing so, you'll need to pay 3/4$ to third-party services (like DC-Phoenix in example, a service used by a lot of users here since that it's working and low cost) in way to unofficially unlock it. Just google for or search here on XDA some 'bout
Thanks for all the help guys!
Hi, I installed the Xiaomi bootloader unlock tool to unlock F2 pro's bootloader and thinking it will say 15 days after clicking on unlock. It instantly unlocked the bootloader rather than waiting for 7 or 15 days.
Now I want to install Xiaomi. Eu from, but I have some questions making me confuse. These Questions are the following...
1:Since the bootloader is already unlocked, and I wanted to use the call recorder function as well, SHould I install Xiaomi.eu from or wait for android 11 in global rom.
2:I have heard people cellphone getting bricked by installing marufrino twrp. Should I wait for official twp recovery, or this recovery just work fine for flashing Xiaomi.eu rom
Kindly give me a suggestion, I am a newbie and need help.
3:any advice u want to give me as a newbie

I installed Android 12 via orange fox. Later I wanted to go back to Android 11, but there were some problems in the recovery due to changing the kernel -i think-, so I flashed Fastboot, and I went back to the MIUI interface.
The problem is that I tried to unlock the bootloader again, but MiUnlock told me I have to wait 168 hours and I can't wait,
There is another problem that I checked the number of hours again after 9 hours and it was not affected!!!!!!!!
before fastboot flashed i tried to flash boot.img (from anyrom) but didn't work

If the unlock remaining hours popup, you have to wait. No way around.
If the hour don't drop, logout account on phone and on PC, factory reset, then login again and do unlock request.

It will not instantly unlock. You will not be able to unlock today. You have to wait 7 days.
Read notes in step 6. You probably did that again and again.

flash twrp again boot into twrp
again format data, system vendor
make sure your recovery support decrypt

you have to wait now untill rom allow to unlock it
but you can try a trick turn off internet and location

1. The touchscreen on the phone was replaced with a non-original one.
2. The phone has been unlocked before. Then it was locked. The original firmware does not work with the Chinese touchscreen. So I want to reflash it to LineAge.
3. I use miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.24 version to unlock the phone. The other versions give an error.
4. After waiting 162 hours for unlock, got this error "unlock tool please use the common user tool on the official website"
5. Google does not know about this error. What to do?

Thank you for your reply. That version didn't work for me. I want to try all the versions. Maybe everyone has a different combo.
P.S. Thanks again for the idea! In my case miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.55 worked immediately
