Hello, my issue is that when i am receiving calls via bluetooth (either on the car or on my handsfree etc) the ringtone is never what i have on my android, but is the default of each device. Problem is, i am getting heart attacks every time someone is calling me when i am on my car as the default ringtone is extremely loud. Are there any options anywhere that i missed, which will enable me to change the default bluetooth ringtone when i am connected to other devices? Thanks in advance
bump!
There's no way of getting your 'chosen' ringtone that plays on your phone, to play on your bluetooth device.
Bluetooth devices that have a ring function tend to be a very basic phone, it doesn't have the features to install bespoke ringtones.

Is it possible to have the BT headset announce incoming calls but still have the phone ring with Voice Command 1.6?
Seems like it's an all or nothing deal so far... either ring and announce through the BT headset (by selecting "Announce Incoming Calls") or ring and announce through handset... Notifications work fine though. The handset would play the alert then the BT headset will announce the reminder.
Currently, when I have Incoming Call announcements activated and set up to announce over bluetooth, the ringtone would also be played over bluetooth and the handset is just silent.
I have to turn off my headset at night else I'd miss any calls while I am sleeping. While I love VC, this is one thing that's just been driving me nuts. Is it possible to keep the ringtone playing on the handset and announcements over bluetooth?
How VC handles calendar reminders is exactly the way I like it. Mine currently Rings on handset -> Announce over BT -> Ring on handset -> Ring on handset -> Ring on handset...
On a more minor note, is it possible to delay the announcements to compensate for bluetooth lag? I have a Plantronics 655 and it has a 1-2 second lag so always miss the first 1-2 seconds of whatever VC is saying. Calendar reminders being the most important since I would just hear "15 minutes".
I've tried modifying the HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0->Script Value and HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce->Script Value and the only things I was able to do was to have the announcement before the ringtone (by adding w3 at the beginning of RingTone0) and muting the announcement (by removing p from TTSAnnounce)
Edited the original post with more details...
Hopefully someone knows of a solution...
Well, redirecting all BT audio became kind of a problem... it was eating up battery power on my S200 and headset.
So I wrote a new script for using the headset only for phone calls. The audio is redirected when an incoming call is detected, so that ringtones can be heard through the headset. This is particularly useful for using custom ringtones and in noisy environments when it's hard to hear the phone ring.
I've been having a hard time getting the script to work properly, but hopefully the script is now bug free. The problem I've encountered is that the headset will turn off (!!!) if the audio gateway is turned on too late. So like I said, this is *experimental*.
You will need VJVolubilis and MortScript like in my previous script - see previous post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=287691
I've included the scripts and a shortcut, which points to \program files\tools like before.
Note: I have *not* been able to get this to work on my stereo A2DP headset - only works on mono headset.
P.S. If you have a BT headset that can custom handle ringtones out-of-the-box, please tell me what model you have! Thanks!
this is a major annoyance... I've had a Samsung i760 for a couple months now and have found it seems to have a serious design flaw.
I like to listen to music at work, through my phone using a wired headset (two way headset with mic). I work in a quiet office environment. I always set my ring to silent/vibrate while at work. If I'm listening to music, and happen to receive a call, the music will stop playing through the headset and will start playing through the built in speaker of the phone for all my coworkers and supervisor to hear.
The music would continue to play like this even after answering the call... I have to bring up the player and stop it manually. I was able to partially alleviate this by disabling the 'play in background' setting. With that, the music will still play through the external speaker briefly, roughly 3 seconds, before the player pauses the song. Which is still unacceptable.
I have tried TCPMP and Windows Media and had the same result.
Also, if I have the phone set to ring audibly, the ring is forced through the speaker as well, and the music I was listening to AND the ringtone will play at the same time for those 3 or so seconds.
what I'm hoping someone can help me with is a) a way to make ringtones play through the wired headset if possible, or b) at least keep the sound from being forced through the external speaker when the wired headset is connected and I recieve a call. As it stands, I either can't listen to music at work (a big part of why I bought the phone), or I have to turn the phone receiver off and risk missing calls. Either option sucks and is making consider another phone... though I don't know if this is a WM6 issue or an issue with this specfic phone.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
*bump* anyone?
any way thru the registry to disable the built in speaker alltogether while leaving the headphones operational?
On Acer s200, you can change the value of registry key HKLM\Software\Acer\Scenario\HeadsetIn to 1...
Maybe that can help...
Hi,
in general I am very happy with my Sensation XE (latest Stock ROM) - but I have one big issue with the bluetooth headset during phone calls.
The BT headset (Plantronics Discovery 975) is paired and incoming and outgoing calls start perfectly on the headset.
The issue is:
when a notification (e.g. calender alarm, sms arriving) goes off, the sound is routed to the phone speaker and NOT returning back to the BT headset. This is quite annoying when you are driving and all of a sudden the phone call is on your phone speaker and no longer on the BT headset.
I have found no settings where I can force that during a call the sound stays on the BT headset and that e.g. notifications are broadcasted to the headset as well.
Anybody having the same issue? What/how do I need to tweak the phone to have the BT headset properly working.
Many thanks for any help!!
Partial solution found ...
Hi - after the wave of replies to my post, I spend some time again to work out / find a solution.
The solution for me is the app "Toggle Settings Pro" (costs a few bugs on the market). It seems to be the only (? - at least I had tried out a couple) profile switcher program where you can create a rule based on "Incoming Calls" / "Outgoing Calls". During a call a profile is switched on that sets the phone to Silent Mode. Works perfect, but the app has a little bug that needed a workaround.
I had created a rule that switches on the Silent Mode on trigger "Incoming Call - Is Connected". I had expected that it would switch to Silent Mode only if you accept the call (=> is connected) but unfortunately it triggers the switch already during ringing. Basically the phone did not ring any more because the Silent mode was switched on too early.
So I created another rule that gets triggered when "Incoming call - is ringing" and on pick-up of the call the silent mode is kicking in.
Sounds a bit complicated, but this is the solution of the problem for me.
Is there a way to change the default ringtone that I hear on every bluetooth device from my android phone?
