Is it possible to have the BT headset announce incoming calls but still have the phone ring with Voice Command 1.6?
Seems like it's an all or nothing deal so far... either ring and announce through the BT headset (by selecting "Announce Incoming Calls") or ring and announce through handset... Notifications work fine though. The handset would play the alert then the BT headset will announce the reminder.
Currently, when I have Incoming Call announcements activated and set up to announce over bluetooth, the ringtone would also be played over bluetooth and the handset is just silent.
I have to turn off my headset at night else I'd miss any calls while I am sleeping. While I love VC, this is one thing that's just been driving me nuts. Is it possible to keep the ringtone playing on the handset and announcements over bluetooth?
How VC handles calendar reminders is exactly the way I like it. Mine currently Rings on handset -> Announce over BT -> Ring on handset -> Ring on handset -> Ring on handset...
On a more minor note, is it possible to delay the announcements to compensate for bluetooth lag? I have a Plantronics 655 and it has a 1-2 second lag so always miss the first 1-2 seconds of whatever VC is saying. Calendar reminders being the most important since I would just hear "15 minutes".
I've tried modifying the HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0->Script Value and HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce->Script Value and the only things I was able to do was to have the announcement before the ringtone (by adding w3 at the beginning of RingTone0) and muting the announcement (by removing p from TTSAnnounce)
Edited the original post with more details...
Hopefully someone knows of a solution...
Ok I am going to ask this question because there are way to many bluetooth programs here and I need to find a specific one.
All I want is for when I turn my headset on and its connected to my phone I want it to transfer the sounds to the headset and pull the microphone from the headset. So when its connected it immediately sends the sound to the headset; Not just in call sounds. I mean all sounds. I am using VITO VOice command so I just need it to send the sound to the headset and pull the microphone form the headset. Also I need it to send teh sound back to the headset after a call as well if a call is happening while using the headset for sound.
Can this be done?

Thanks nir36, I've just tried BTaudio but, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to reconnect the audio gateway after a call ends.
----
What I use is a program called BtMusic (available here: http://maxmobilesoft.com/index.php/software/btmusic). It is shareware, I think, but does pop up a message box when opening the program and every 5 or so times the gateway is established. I believe you can donate to get rid of these prompts, but you'd have to ask the author through that website. It isn't annoying if you don't need to keep reconnecting very often. BtMusic seems to have some advantages:
1. Reconnects automatically after a call ends.
2. Does not need the headset to be turned on before being enabled - it waits for the headset to connect and connects the gateway when it is found (you can therefore leave BtMusic running in the background and just turn on and off the headset as needed!).
3. Supports stereo headsets.
All the best,
Martin
Anybody have any other ideas?
I recently got a Bluetooth headset, but I would like to know if there is a tool or program that will announce the incoming caller and the sender of text messages on the bluetooth headset. At the moment, I use Call Announcer Free, which works nicely, but it says the caller/text sender on the phone speaker as well as the headset. I only want the headset, while the notification plays on the phone because I don't want my phone to blurt out my girlfriend is calling me.
Example of what I want:
Phone call
- Phone Speaker: Ringtone
- BlueTooth Headset: Ringtone + "You have incoming call from X"
Text Message
- Phone speaker: Notification
- BlueTooth headset: Notification + "You have new message".
I have also tried the app that apparently was on XDA called "Talk to Me", but that sadly crashes when I give it a shot. It was exactly what I wanted - it had "route to BT only" mode, so the voiceover would only trigger on the bluetooth headset, not the actual phone speaker itself.
I appreciate any help you can give me.
Cheers,
IcedCube.
I don't know what I changed, but I can't figure this one out.
Typically, when I have my plantronics headset connected, when the phone rings,
I hear my default ringtone (unless it is someone I have a specific ringtone attached)
When my bluetooth is OFF, the ringer is correct.
When I turn on and connect my plantronics voyager 5200, I get a very obnoxious LOUD
generic ringtone coming from somewhere.
I've uninstalled anything I can think of, that might have messed it up (Truecaller, plantronics
app, Contacts +). I don't know what I changed, but I'd like to get it back how I had it.
Any ideas??
TIA!
Figured it out finally.
Phone dialer, settings, turn off VOICE BROADCAST OF INCOMING CALLS. Only when headset is connected.
Mods, feel free to kill this thread.
Hi,
I have a weird issue with what I would call - priority of Bluetooth devices in making phone calls.
Setup:
- Poco X3 Pro on the latest MIUI revision (12.5.2)
- car - Ford audio, Sync 3.4 patched yesterday to latest build, however the problem existed earlier
- Huawei Watch GT2.
Huawei Watch and Ford are paired with my phone.
The problem is affecting ability to use Ford's BT handsfree mode and talk through car's speakers and mic.
Issue #1:
- phone connected via BT to the car, no USB cable in use
- incoming calls - they are presented by car's audio system, I'm accepting the call, the conversation starts, car's audio (CD or FM radio) is muted but the call stays in phone, I need to manually pick up phone, go into active connection screen and move audio output to Ford BT device
- outgoing calls - same issue as with incoming calls
Issue #2
- phone connected with USB cable to the car audio system, Android Auto kicks in and enables BT in phone if it was switched off
- incoming calls - they are presented by car's audio system, I'm accepting the call, the conversation starts, car's audio (CD or FM radio) is muted but the call stays in phone, I can't use my phone, to go into active connection screen and move audio output to Ford BT device as it's now blocked by Andorid Auto, when I try to do the same on my car's touchscreen, using the AA phone app, Ford BT device is not even visible as available option
- outgoing calls - same issue as with incoming calls.
It happens very rarely that the phone connection audio ends up in my Huawei Watch.
When I turn off my Huwei Watch while driving the car - there is absolutely no issue, all connections properly end up in car's audio system.
I've found a workaround - found an app which presents a widget on the screen allowing to end and reestablish BT connection to my car. But as every workaround it has a drawback, I need to perform the operation twice, not even saying of taking the phone out of my pocket etc.
There was also no issue when I was using my previous phone LG G6 with Android Pie and AA installed from apk file. The car and watch were the same as now and there was absolutely no issue with phone calls being not redirected to car audio.
Can anyone share any insights on how to fix it ? It looks like some flaw in Android' or MIUI's logic to push phone call stream to the BT device which actually initiated/accepeted the call.
Thanks in advance for help.
Same here with a SEAT bluetooth system.
I discover that the problem is in the health app, if you disable permisions to telephone, contacts and registry of calls, it works, but you loose de number identification of incoming calls in the watch and you can't call through the watch.
Regards.
That's a huge lost TBH, do you suggest it's a bug on Huawei end ? Why did it work properly when I was using LG G6 on Android Pie ?
maybe....it's a bug with app of Huawei and android 11, i had a Mate 20 before the poco and never had this issue but the mate 20 have android 10...
P.D: If you see, when you make a call, the selector of audio source in the call panel variety very fast with watch and speaker...
regards.
Yes, I observed it too - when I answer the call, the audio output device selector makes some quick changes.
