Hello. I recently purchased a xiaomi mi note 10 on eBay. The seller had it listed as not working because the phone would not turn on.
However I received it and plugged it in for an hour and it came up.
When I begin the setup process I received a lock screen. "This device is associated with an existing account". There is a phone number hidden and it asks for a password. I reached out to the seller but they seem to have disappeared.
Is there anything that can be done? I have the box and stickers that came with it. There is also an unlock code that is displayed.
I have searched all over and every solution is based on someone already knowing the associated number. I don't have the benefit of a xiaomi store.
Is there anything that can be done?

Hello.
I have the ZTE axon A1R (not pro) and about a month ago I received a notification for a update to marshmallow 6.0 and so I went through the process, and it completely froze and would not boot.
Since then I did a factory reset however I cannot get passed the sign in screen where it asks you to sign in with the gmail that was previously associated with the phone. I have done this countless times and it simply does not accept the email even though it is correct. I have initially waited 3 days and since then tried many many times but it simply throws me back to the sign in screen.
I have tried the other option where google sends a code digit and this doesnt work wither.
I have been in contact with zte customer service but it is a complete joke. They have done absolutely nothing to help me and what I thought would take a couple of days at the most to fix, has now been over a month and is very frustrating. They keep sending me email to "wait and that they forwarded my concerns to the appropriate people to help" however this has not happened in over a month now.
what can I do? (I tried searching for this problem here on xda forums and google in general but cannot find the relevant information. Mostly what I find is stuff for the pro version of this phone)
Thank you

hi,
thanx for trying to help but sadly the above is for the Axon 7.
i am only able to find information (on xda) regarding Axon 7 and axon pro neither of which is my phone.
mine is the regular axon (A1R) http://www.gsmarena.com/zte_axon-7686.php
I should note that I am not so much interested in rooting it or anything like that.
I just want to be able to use it again under any circumstance but I simply cannot get passed the "sign in with email previously associated with this phone" because it keeps sending me back after I put in the correct information.
ZTE has been a complete failure in helping me even though it was their update that has cause me problems in the first place
Try to change the email password from another device, a pc maybe

I have done that.
no go.
and the weird thing is that, when i do type in the wrong password, it knows, and says so... but when I type in the correct one, it doesnt say anything, just jumps right back into the 'please sign in with the email associated with this password' screen.
I think it may be a issue with the update itself.
I cannot get passed the 'verify your account'
page. I tried everything, I keep putting in the
correct email and password, and even trying with the
code that google sends via text, and it always just
sends me back to the 'verify your account'.
THis is a problem with ZTE update. It fails to
recognize the previous email that was associated to
the phone.
When I power the phone while holding the 'up' button
and go into android recovery, it says:
ZTE/P897A10_ROGERS/billy
6.0.1/MMB29M/20160707.005703
So it seems that even though I have reset the phone
into factory reset, it has still applied the 6.01
update which is not what the phone came with when I
bought it (it came with 5.01)
Perhaps this is the problem and why it is not
recognizing the email associated with the phone.
I dont know why it says "ROGERS/billy"
Rogers is not the carrier that I am with and billy is
not my name.
Hello all,
My sister recently bought a Xiaomi smartphone for her 12-year old son. But after just a few months, her son forgot the lock pattern that he had use on the phone, as he was constantly changing it.
So, now the phone is working Ok, but we cannot log into it, as we do not know the pattern.
We have his credentials for the google account, and the Xiaomi (Mi) account.
However, t here is no option to use them to unlock the phone.
We also tried to contact Xiaomi, they asked for the Mi account credentials, and after we provided these credentials to Xiaomi, they sent us an SMS with a code...which did NOT work!
So, I don't really know what to do, except to us for help, as none of us is very technical.
I found this program (Mi account unlock tool), but since it is not an official Xiaomi program, I am scared that maybe it is a virus or something like this - do you think I should use it?
If not, then how can I unlock the phone?
I am OK with doing a factory reset, and losing all settings and data that are currently on the phone, if that is necessary.
Also, please note that when I press the power button and the volume up button, I do NOT get an options menu, I get a picture with a phone and a usb cable - probably the phone wants me to connect it to the computer, but I am not sure about what the next step should be.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you
I has got a Redmi 6 (MIUI 10) from my friend around 2 weeks ago to bypass Mi Account Lock.
And after tapping 10 times on lock icon I accidentally discovered something that looks like a code.
The code does not change after phone restart or data wipe from Recovery.
Tested this code as Mi Account password and it didn't work.
Here's a video of a discovery:

What is this code and what is it for?
Hello? Anyone can answer me?
This is a device identifier, you give it to xiaomi support, then they can unbind the device from any accounts on their end. You can't work out the old password from the id.
Hello,
I am new to this forum (and also to android); so please forgive me for any mistakes.
A few months ago my cousin bought a used Huawei phone, that he couldn't log into with his own email, because the "original" email was needed, that the seller did not provide. According to my cousin the seller wouldn't reply to him; so I am assuming that the seller knew that the phone was useless.
Now my question is, is there any way to remove the old account? My cousin asked for my help, but I have no clue where to start. The phone seemed wiped and I don't know what android version it is on. My cousin said that he updated it once by getting into the menu you get when you press the power and volume buttons. When we tried to connect it to a pc software it just said that adb or something like that was not activated; therefore the pc couldn't find out any information about the phone.
What can we do? I would be thankful for any ideas or tips!

After 10 years I really should know the answer, but I don't, and the XDA search function still doesn't work for me.
My N5 has a broken SIM tray. I bought an eBay broken-screen N5 and put this motherboard into mine. It asks for a PIN, which I obviously don't have (understandable that the seller couldn't remove the account, since the screen was totalled).
I've asked the seller for the PIN, but personally I'd be reluctant in his shoes.
Is there a workaround? I've seen the YouTube video (factory reset, settings, enable bootloader unlock, etc.) but that looked as if it was on an Android 5 device and I'd be surprised if Google haven't closed the loophole.
In the absence of a PIN, any suggestions? I've seen a suggestion that the seller could remove the device from Google via his PC - would that work?
(Edit: No, the seller says that the device doesn't appear on his Google device list.)
Thank you...
Update to prevent anyone spending time trying to think of a way to help...
In fact for reasons which appear to go against everything I've read about FRP I was able to use Fastboot to boot TWRP and factory reset the device, after which I was able to install CrDroid. Maybe it's because the device was on Android 6, too old for FRP to be a problem.
Anyway, bottom line, all ok now.
