Hi. I have three questions about different versions of Poco X3:
1. How we can recognize the phone version? i Mean before unboxing. Because in my market, it seems all the versions are available and if u go for it you should be able to find out what you want. But you are not allowed to torn the plastic cover or open the box or turn the phone on.
2. All The versions support Google apps? Pre-Installed ? (Specially 6000mah Battery version)
3. When i read the different Spec of different versions, i figure out the most changes related to the NFC and battery. So in my mind NFC is using an extra Chipset, so it could be extra load and extra heat. So please correct me if im wrong, While we dont use NFC the best choice would be 6000mah and no NFC. But as its obvious the Global Version is Poco X3 NFC with 5160 mah battery. So it means that 6000mah is not Global Version. Does it have also Google Apps? and totally whats disadvantages of using that version instead of Global Version? How about Updates ??
Thanks

Poco/Xiaomi uses different names for the same phone, depending on the country or region.
Sometime same phone name means different hardware inside.
So let's start with where you live or where you want to buy your phone?

What do you mean "all" the versions available? Can get devices from India, EEA, Global, Indonesia, Russia and Turkey?
The box of the device "should" have some clue. See here for the photos of unboxing: https://c.mi.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=3321682
This photo from that thread is the most important thing to distinguish.

The country or region affects the charger inside and the policy of the country or region.
Poco X3 PRO is a completely different phone.

It should. There don't seem to have China variant. So all Poco X3 / X3 NFC should have Google apps pre-installed.

NFC should be able to turned off. There shouldn't be that much of heat generated from NFC chip.
NFC is important if you want to pay with your phone. The pay-pass function is through NFC. Some credit cards can link with NFC. Beep and go.
If in the future you can use NFC somewhere, but your phone did not have NFC chip, you cannot put one in. This is the downside without NFC. Also that phone should only exist in India, so if there's problem, you send phone to India to fix it. Other countries don't cover the warranty.
If you bought the NFC version, you can turn NFC off. Turn on when you need. Battery slightly smaller is the downside.

Thanks Bud for the detailed response.
When i say all the versions i mean Poco X3 NFC and Poco X3, India Version, Europe version and China Version.
The reason that i was asking about Google Apps , because recently ive heard that China prohibited companies to use Google Apps in their Smart Phones. Also google is filtered in China and they have some replaced app like baidu or ... . So ive got doubt if GAPPS already installed in Chinese version(I dont Know).
About the Reference Codes, Thanks. Big help
And about the NFC and Without NFC, i was thinking if someone never use NFC , is it wise to choose Poco X3 instead of Poco X3 NFC ?? (Because of lack of NFC Chipset , Less Heat and Big Battery) or its completely irrelevant ?

That phone should only exist in India, so if there's problem that you need Xiaomi to repair it, you send phone with air mail or fedex to India to fix it. Other countries don't cover the warranty.
I know what you are concern about.
There is no legal Chinese version of this phone.
@pl1992aw summed model differences pretty well. Surya is Global/EU/Indonesia/Russia, Karna is India only -- different hardware aimed at different regions.
I originally got the EU version, so here's a shot of the relevant label in the box, with the NFC tag clearly visible...

I am about to purchase a Galaxy S7 from craigslist. However, this guy is selling a 64GB international model.
I did some research and it seems 64GB model do exists, but very rare. Also, I could not find 64GB model with exact same model number.
Can you tell if this is fake or real?

When I meet the seller, I should be able to check in more detail, but with near perfect replica these days I might fall for it.

it looks like a fake because there are no s7 which have their capacity written on their back...
also note that the earbuds that comes with the phone should be in a box. the earbuds shown in the attached image does not seem to be the one bundled with my s7 (sm-g930fd).
i am a bit sceptical about the colour of the phone, at least from the image. the phone looks like a cheap replica to me....
i believe that genuine s7 should have their imei written on the back if i'm not wrong...
if i were you, i would definitely not buy this phone.

When I looked up some pictures, how ear buds are packaged were different depending on the market. Some were in a clear plastic box and some were just like in this picture.
I'm supposed to meet with the seller soon, hope I can tell if it is fake or not.
White colour does exist but for the American market. However no 64gb model is officially launched unless it is an upcoming release which the seller has. I would stay away for the time being unless there is an official release by Samsung.

Just met up with the seller. Sure enough, it was a fake phone.
First thing I checked was sim tray. It did not have rubber gasket that goes around sim tray.
So, I installed CPU-Z to check processor. It should have Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890. Instead, it had some unknown brand ARM processor (arm7). Missing all sensors except acceleration sensor, proximity sensor, and light sensor.
The phone was slow to respond as well.
The guy claims he bought it from the official T-mobile on-line store in the UK and paid over $700. Hm..

I have a 930FD and mine says "duos" on the back although I have seen some legit phones without that logo. IMEI is also printed on the back. The box for this fake was also a giveaway to me - it just looks weird to me. I havent seen an S7 yet that the box was in two complete halves. Mine flips open and has a snap like action when closing.
Fact remains that, answering the TS's initial question, S7's with 64GB internal memory do exist. I guess but not sure in Korea and/or Indonesia. So not all 64GB versions of the S7 are fake.
Simple, install phone info and you will find out all about the phone

You might see something like this. The phone would be much lighter (smaller battery), with slightly larger buttons, less screen curvature, dim or uneven capacitive lights, and vibrator that sounds like a tin can. The TouchWiz features would also be very limited.

While they may exist, it seems nearly impossible to find any store that sells them. I've been looking everywhere and all I see are 32GB models. :crying:
There should be shops that sell them. I saw someone that sold one second hand and he claimed he had an official invoice.
notice the screen carefully.. it'll have black outline... that's the fake one!
It is fake! never seen.
I'm curious, where can I buy the fake one?
Pocophone F1
as we all know this device has become a viral and hot topic in the smartphone industry, why? because it comes with a crazy specification at a very reasonable price, but most Pocophone users complain about the problem of this phone, so without wasting time, let's look at the list of problems often faced by Pocophone users and how to handle it.
NOTE : This is not 100% solution, maybe some tricks, suggestion, mods will solved your problem , Atleast we can solve the problems to improve user experience.
1) Screen Bleeding Issue.
This issue I think the most popular one , Screen bleeding issue , keep in mind in order to cut the cost, Poco F1 using IPS LCD Display, screen bleeding issue is present in almost LCD equipped phones , a very small has bleed which is apparent during regular use, So this problems is NORMAL for devices that use IPS LCD display type , But this happen just for some users, If you dont like it, try to use your warranty to change a new unit.
2) Touchscreen Lag
The big problems for gamers , touchscreen lag, many users say it was a software problems , in order to solve this, please make sure your software is up to date and recommended to use Stable version to avoid any much problem. For me I personally also play a games. I play Free Fire but the touch was working great and its running smoothly. I dont play PUBG so i dont know how unresponsive it is.
3) PUBG Notch
For now , PUBG team only fix the notch only for India, But soon they will fix it for all users, For now, in order to hide the notch , we can manually hide it from Settings / Full Screen Display / Hide Notch.
4) Ugly Big Notch
In order to solve this, u need to know why the notch is too big, this is because Poco developers put all the things inside the notch such as Infrared Lens, Infrared Lightning, Proximity Sensor, Earpiece, and 20MP front camera. So this is why its too big, but for me , Its not a big deal because i knew that notch was helped me out to unlock my face even in the dark and helps me a lot.

}
5) Battery Percentage Issue
Pffftt.. Just use Miui 10 and it solved. Or use theme.
6) Notifications Icon just for a few seconds
Every users have their own way they like, some just like the clock , some just OK with 2 seconds notifications icons and some want BOTH at the same time. Okay so dont worry , Xioami is a developer friendly, Unlock bootloader and root your device doesnt void your warranty, so in this case we gonna do some modifications on system. If you want both (notifications icons & clock) at the same time, you can use the MOD below. Click the link and just follow the instruction.
http://en.miui.com/thread-4337763-1-1.html
7) Battery draining Issue
Try to turn off Wifi and Bluetooth scanning in settings. Just go to settings and search "scanning" or if you have twrp installed, try to use Sphinx Kernel.
8) Not really quickcharge.
I dont know why people saying this but for me its works fast enough ! If this is not fast enough for you, I recommended using Sphinx Custom Kernel. It can up your fast charge to 900mah ! Everything about Sphinx Kernel just click the link below
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/development/kernel-sphinx-kernel-v1-7-t3861911
thanks for the developers .
9) Average Camera.
This is the hardware issue. From the poco slogan "Master Of Speed" and not "Master Of Photography" we can know that Pocophone is focusing on your perfomance not your camera. Want better camera ? "Pay more and get more"
10) Poor Build Quality
In order to cut the cost , Build quality in Poco is not at good enough, But hey , use the CASE. your problems solved !
Anything common problems found in Pocophone ? Reply here , instead of asking our developers how many days they need to fix, we try to fix that maybe for temporary used while waiting for updates from Poco Developers. Please state your problems in the comments section, maybe we can fix that together.

"..Poco F1 using IPS LCD Display, screen bleeding issue is present in almost LCD equipped phones ...."
Hmmm... I disagree. I have a Honor 8 which has a perfect LCD screen. No bleeding at all. It cost even less and it even has an IR-blaster. So it IS possible to have a great screen at an affordable pricetag. Especially when everything else is cheaper. The Honor 8 has a camera with both laser-af and PDAF, it has a multi-color notification LED etc...
So using its price as a excuse to justify its flaws (or even broken parts) doesn't sit well.

ermmm its already been discussed , its due to the placement of the backlight at the bottom of lcd , look at honor 8 the chin below is so big , ample space.
The news about view 20 can be found everywhere except this forum. That's weird.
Here is the summary of XDA reports about Honor view 20 showcase in Hong Kong so far:
1. The in-screen hole display
Honor claims View 20 in-display hole is 4.5mm, 1.5mm smaller than Samsung A8s's solution. It is somehow a little awkward Samsung's and Honor 's showcases fell on the same day. But I think Honor wins this round.
Although it seems a mere 1.5mm difference doesn't matter too much, I believe that’s a big improvement in the display craftsmanship. Good job, Honor.
I like the hole-punch screen (compared with the ugly notch) and it actually extends the screen to body ratio to a high level, nearly 100%. If 2018 is the year of notch, hole seems the new trend in the coming 2019.
2. 48MP rear camera
It may become the first phone with 48-megapixel camera, powered by Sony’s IMX586 CMOS sensor. This report said this sensor has good performance in low-light shooting and zooming in on photos taken from a distance. In addition, Kirin 980 chipset with the dual-ISP and dual-NPU can provide a better image quality with more details.
PS: Wanna figure out how much detailed can the image be? Anyone can find any sample pictures?
3. Link Turbo
According to XDA reports, this is “an AI feature that allows simultaneous downloads over WiFi and 4G. “ Samsung released similar feature before but I never heard about it.
“Link Turbo also enables better switching between WiFi and 4G depending on signal strength.”
This sounds very powerful but I still feel confused how will it works. So here comes a key point: how much will view 20 price be?
Just check the price of A8s (https://gadgets.ndtv.com/samsung-galaxy-a8s-5759), it is about 29,900 INR, equal to 420 USD( that’s in high price range though).
So I guess Honor View20 may be more expensive than Samsung A8s?
Because with smaller hole and better rear camara (Samsung A8s: 24MP, Honor View20: 48MP), it seems unreasonable to lower the price…
Feel free to share your thoughts and update what you can find about View 20 info below.
I also will update what I find here.
Update (12.26):
The price in China is released!
6GB RAM + 128GB of storage for ¥2999 ($435),
8GB RAM + 128GB of storage for ¥3499 ($510),
the “MOSCHINO” version with 8GB RAM +256 GB of storage for ¥3999 ($580).
What do you think of the price value?

this quote on the XDA page:
Note: Huawei has stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloader of the Honor View 20 cannot be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.
I was aware you could not load a custom rom with a locked bootloader, but my understanding was you could root the dveice still, can anyone confirm? I don't care at all about custom roms but I can't live without root.

There is still no way to unlock the phone though. I don't think view20 will have it. somebody said Funkyhuawei can help you root but you need to buy the unlock code. I use an Honor 8X but I'm fine to use without rooting as all the specs work well.
Now View 20 haven't released so we can wait and see if someone can find a way to unlock it.
I agree we need to wait for release before coming to any conclusions. But I still think the statement on XDA is incorrect, root on this device should be possible whether its locked boot loader or not. ref: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-necessary-to-unlock-bootloader-before-rooting-Android-phones

Hmm, to me, removing, for me, basic features, does not seem like a step in right direction, I kinda like knowing about notifications without having to turn on the phone.
With notification led it would be great phone for me, I think. (currently I have nova3 and I hate that notifications are not shown in status bar because of the notch)

They haven't released the final price for Global version. So maybe we can wait until the global launch day Jan.22.
In case there is any confusion, this phone does support a memory card, it doesn't use the standard SD-card it uses the Huawei made nano memory card. There is no extra slot for this card, the card is exactly the same size as a nano sim card and therefore to use it, you put it in the sim card tray in place of the secondary sim.
So unfortunately you cannot use two SIM's and a memory card at the same time (very few phones these days do anyway).
Great pricing (although it will be more in EU)
the only thing that annoys me so far, is the fact that it uses Huawei's own technology for memory expansion
Pricing has been released. (Not good news unfortunately for global version)
china
6GB model - $405 USD
8GB model - $480 USB
Global
6GB Model - $630 USD
8GB model - $760 USD
apparently the global version will come with a free Honor smartwatch worth $200 USD

Whaaaaat?!
If it's true that's more expensive compared to the 1+6T.
Some reported screen bleed is bad at the bottom
Hello together,
recently Lenovo has launched a new 2022 variant of the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro Tablet [TB132FU]. (also known as Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2)
This variant ditches the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 in favor of a Mediathek Dimensity 1300T. Performance wise these two SOCs should be basically on par.
It can be purchaded directly by Lenovo: https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/tablet...o-tab-series/Tab-P11-Pro-2nd-Gen/p/ZAB50194GB

The kernel source of the global variant was already released.
(--> see: https://support.lenovo.com/de/en/solutions/ht511330-lenovo-open-source-portal)
So i do have the following questions right now:
Does anybody own this device at this time? Is it a good purchase compared to the other variants.
How likely are Custom ROMs for this device, as a global version with kernel source is available?
Does the mediatek chip have any drawbacks in ROM development?
Best regards,

Hi,
Received mine Friday...it's a 8/256Go.
Nearly everything is very good :
- bright 2.5k AMOLED screen
- sound
- performances (far better than Pro Gen 1)
- internal storage (average sequential read : 1.3Go/s)
- microSD card reader (tested on a 256Go)
- light weight
What is less good :
- face unlock doesn't work in darkness
- fingerprints marks on back
- lack of audio jack
Nevertheless, I doubt you will get many custom ROM as it is :
- probably not a best seller even if I think it's one of the best tablet...0 tests yet in media
- it's Mediatek's based...devs used to dislike that (there are some exceptions : for exemple Redmi Note 8 Pro)

is it pentile display ? does the display look sharp ?
Can't be sure about pentile...despite I try a 50MP shot on the screen with my smartphone...
In my opinion, it's sharp...I used previously a 10" 2560x1600 IPS screen (no-pentile...Teclast T10), I can't see any difference about sharpness.
Overall, P11 Pro Gen 2's screen feels far better than T10's (colors, brightness...)
I can't wait for my set. I ordered the 8/128 GB variant.
From the internet research, the 8gb variant should come with extra features like 10bit color and SD870 SOC instead.
I could not confirm that until received. Anyone could confirm this?

It's European model, Play store was already installed. 10bits colors isn't specific to SD870 version, mine is HDR10+

My set is china ROM and on its shipping route. Possible later this week will received it. Heard we could just enabled it, but I could not sure the procedure.

I have now also ordered the European version of this variant here in Germany, it has arrived today. There was only one option available, which is the 256/8GB version with the Mediatek chipset and global ROM (including Play Store) already installed.
As I understand it, the global version of this tablet always comes with the Mediatek chipset, the QC SD870 is for other markets. This would also mean that the global ROM will only function on the Mediatek chipset and not on the Qualcomm.
I can also confirm, that there is support for HDR10 and even Dolby Vision.
MTK 1300T had global rom , but no solution for flash
Do anyone have the keyboard too? If the keyboard detached from the tablet, will it still work,
What I wish to achieve is to have the tablet lifted and hold on a holder which is higher perhaps on the eye level, then having the keyboard on the desk for typing.
If it won't work, then need to order a BT keyboard for this purpose.
Thank you.
Keyboard isn't available yet in my country...only pencil is.
But...as tablet has physical connectors, I think keyboard doesn't work if not connected.
I think I will go for a Bluetooth keyboard too...and a usb-c to HDMI wire.
I tested the Type C to HDMI and it work perfectly.
I still not figured out on how to use the Lenovo One to mirror my Xiaomi tot he tablet.
Anyone notice the screen is kind of uneven when you are in the minimum brightness? It had red hue on the left and right.
I notice that on movie watching at night on my bed and check the rest, seems it is affecting everywhere.
If you turn on the DC backlight, the red hue effect is more obvious.

I just got mine a couple of days ago and I'm very happy with it so far.
I'm just now trying to understand if there's an easy way to root it.
I 've tested a mini bluetooth keyboard, able to switch to AZERTY on P11 Pro (works on "standard" Android, but it's not possible on some devices like AndroidTV or Fire Stick)
As I prefer something without physical connectors,
I ordered a bigger bluetooth keyboard, and a USB-C to HDMI...
Find one with trackpad. Size is very close to P11 Pro

Was cheaper Yesterday...22.57€
I think I will build a case.
For your English ROM, what is the Android version?
Mine China ROM, and it is Android 12. Too bad it is not Android 12L.
Yes it's still Android 12...tweaked with a productivity mode...
Heard 12L, then 13 and 14 will be available
Yes, Android 12 - Build number TB132FU_S000073_220816_ROW.
Due to China ROM, I do not have Productivity Mode but Study Mode. I had to learn to adopt to it.
But I'm actually feel that Productivity Mode is more useful.
My tab model is TB138FC and yours is TB138FU. As I researched, TB138FU is using MediaTek Kompanio 1300T where the TB138FC is using SD870.
So my friend owns a Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G device and on June 16 evening, he slept with the phone at 6%. Come morning, the phone is stuck at fastboot mode. He asked me for help and since I had a rooted phone myself, I thought of just simply booting it up again normally. It then showed this message
"Your device is corrupt.
It can't be trusted and may not work properly.
Press power button to continue.
Or, device will power off in 5s"
Of course I tried pressing power but it just kept showing the MI logo. So I rebooted to recovery and wiped data, still nothing. What should we do to fix it?
Now the recovery doesn't work at all.

WTF was your buddy thinking anyways ?
On a battery that's never been properly calibrated, you never ever want to let the device discharge below 10% -and even that level is probably pushing your luck..
My bet is that the device is good for a trip to the nearest service center.

Are all Redmi devices this brittle? Damn.
I never trust xiaomi phones. I always unlock the bootloader on them as soon as i can so i won't have surprises like yours and if i do i just flash the rom again.

On that particular point it's rather the Qualcomm SoC that would be to blame -even though they are what they are by explicit demand from the OEMs who mass-buy them to integrate into their devices, and Google is of course happy to oblige with ever-tighter Android security models that make use of the hardware functions offered by the newer chipsets. It's a never-ending spiral of ever-increasing roadblocks to any develoment not coming from either the OEM or Google themselves, with the (voluntary or not, that is a matter of debate) collateral damage implicated to any 3rd-party devs or just the tech enthusiast...
I won't even mention Mediatek chipsets here -which are the bane of any self-respecting modder ever to venture into the Droid ecosystem... :/
But on the principle you are right : unless you explicitly need a locked bootloader (e.g. because you want to be able to RMA your device at any time while the warranty period is valid, or because it's a workplace-supplied phone that has to run "sensitive" company apps), it is always a worthwhile precaution to unlock, so you can at least access the ADB interface in case of trouble. Because it's not a question of "IF" trouble should appear, but more a question of "WHEN" it eventually occurs..
Can't tell for Xiaomi, never had one -not a real branded one anyways : they're flagship devices geared to fill the upper market brackets, so way too expensive for me.. But I've had 3 Poco devices up to rn (2x X3 Pros "vayu" and one X5 5G "moonstone"), and they're by far the best bang for the buck I've ever found. I even got to like the MIUI firmware, over time (the .EU version of it, that is). At least it runs without any issues on those devices without major bugs, something which cannot be said of many AOSP-based firmwares. And even POCO started out as a subsidiary of Xiaomi, they are their own independent brand that just happens to use Xiaomi-supplied parts in their devices, and Xiaomi's OS MIUI.
It's true that Xiaomi devices can be very frustrating sometimes (what with their waiting period to unlock your bootloader). Still, when compared to some other brands like Oppo or Nokia (who don't even provide a way to unlock their bootloaders and proudly and publicly boasts of this unwillingnessto be "open"), Xiaomi is rather "dev-friendly"... rofl

yeah, i do agree with that. same goes for realme too, they're less prick-ish when it comes to unlocking bootloaders. i unlocked mine under 15 minutes on my Realme C12, and now I don't get to use their stupid realme UI. as for my friend though, i had recommended rooting, or at least, unlocking the bootloader.. i just hope it's not too late for it now as there aren't lots of xiaomi technicians around my city (or any that i know of).
