There is a known problem with compatibility with Artemis rom and this app. Please use a different rom until this issue is resolved. myself and the creator of Artemis rom are working on getting this resolved. My rom of choice is any of the Energy series roms. Specifically the GTX version.

will this ensure that android will boot on our HD2 with the files put on the root of storage card or will it still encounter problems?

I'm using Gen.Y Dualboot at the moment. But when this program will start clrcad.exe before starting haret.exe, I will use this one.

Unfortuantly, no. You are still bound by whatever porting errors exist in Android

Sorry but dont work for me. Cant choose anything during boot HD2 Boot like always.

A little more info please. Does anything pop up during boot?

No nothing. I installed the app on my device but nothing happen. I use a custom Rom with WM 6.5.5

not working for me on miri 6.5 v17. Same issue just don't get any options during boot. windows just boots up as normal.

So guys i was trying to deodex a ROM via kitchen and i had the abort .*odex and none of the files got deodexed ? I tried googling but didnt find a solution anywhere .. Then i figured it on my own .. I would like to share it with you all

Solution :
1. First Download the latest stable smali and baksmali .jar from here : https://code.google.com/p/smali/downloads/list
2. You smali and baksmali name should be in the format baksmali-x.x.x.jar and smali-x.x.x.jar ( x.x.x - version number for eg mine in 2.0.3)
3. Copy the baksmali-x.x.x.jar and smali-x.x.x.jar to
Code:
(Drive- which ever consists cygwin):\cygwin\home\(user :what even is your name)\kitchen\tools\deodex_files )
i.e copy the file to , under you cygwin folder -> home -> (you user name) -> kitchen -> tool -> deodex_files folder
4.Using notepad ++ , open use_this_version.txt in deodex_files folder replace the number whatever is there in the beginning with x.x.x - the
version of your latest smali and baksmali jar
5.Save it
6. Open Kitchen and try to deodex, it should work fine ...

Just curious as we just got kitkat 4.4.2 and I was going to take a crack at it but want to make sure I get all the latest information.

I'm not sure if the OP updated anything else, but so far it works great for me with the updated smali/baksmali.
Edit: I did search the Web and found a newer aapt and used that too.

I use vmware with ubuntu in a virtual session. Works well.

Not familiar with virtualbox but VMware recognizes the bootable OS cd and does an easy install for you of multiple operating systems. Its pretty slick.
Plus you can take snapshots of the OS so you can 'go back' easily in case you're testing something out and want to revert to an earlier build or whatever.

it depends... well .. i guess latest baksmali and smali jar support kitkat api ... so you should just upgrade to those... and the latest apktool jar... thats it i guess.. for deodexing....

It better to run Kitchen in Ubuntu /Linux Mint... much faster... VMware is way too slow... in linux based it uses SWAP very efficiently...

NodeJS with Chakra for Windows RT

Everything is in the title.
There wasn't too much effort needed to run this. Chakra and NodeJS are unmodified(Microsoft versions for Windows 10 IoT). The little bit of magic is in the DLL file. This has the big advantage of using a JIT

Npm works fine. Install it from source

I just used this to run a scaffolded express app and it seems to work great so I will get a lot of use out this. Any possibility of future updates or was this a specific version only which could be brought to rt?

It is a javascript scripting environment. Your programs are mostly console apps (no user interface), but you can run express to run web sites/apps.
It's like a super powerful powershell (unlike the limited one we have with rt)... but using javascript.

For the next version(Node v4), I need to have the ARM Chakra JS engine from Windows 10 th2(can be took from a Windows 10 Mobile or Windows 10 IoT Core system, I will try to port it soon)
(at the time that I published my NodeJS port, it was the latest version available with Chakra)

If its not too difficult, node v4 would be great since that is newly established long term support branch it should be compatible for a while. Now if only I could figure out how to 'install npm from source'... I might have to research that more this weekend.

Download https://github.com/npm/npm/archive/master.zip , unpack it, and copy the NodeJS .exe, chakra.dll and api-ms-win-core-memory-l1-1-3.dll into it. You can then open a command prompt, and use node cli.js install <every package that you want>

That's too cool... thanks So many possibilities...
I ended up creating a directory, say c:\source\npm-master with the files in your download link (plus files in zip in first post), updated my path environment variable to point to it, and created an npm.bat within that pathed directory which looks something like :

now I can go into empty directory and npm init, npm install, etc

That node actually reports version 5.0.0, which is newer than 4.0.0 or the 0.12.7-4 version you originally posted. Honestly both builds are probably newer than what I am using on the desktop so these builds should last quite a while. I will probably keep both around and switch between them to see if any have issues.

I just used the latest Git tree

i've tried your method - it worked perfectly, thanks for that. The Master.zip is no longer avalible, so you must now download the older NODEJS 4.0 MSI for windows

install it on regular windows and copy the files to Surface RT and then replace the files node.exe etc.

I know this is not related to mobile but thought I'd share this here with everyone.
I've been so sick of the eye burning light colored UI on WhatsApp desktop for so long and decided to come up with a dark mode myself. Here's a screenshot of the result.

It was very satisfying and thought this is worth sharing. Made a little installer script for both Windows and macOS and published it as an open-source project.
FYI, this is not a modded version of WhatsApp. It'll just modify the styling of your currently installed build of WhatsApp desktop. It's 100% safe and anybody's welcome to look through the source code and review.

Unfortunately emojis on the emoji tab are loaded to a canvas from one big JPG with a white background. So it's not fixable at all. I've tried. Really sorry about that.

I get this message when trying to run it: 'wmic' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I'm using official Whatsapp desktop 0.3.4375 from the download page, not app store, using the windows x86/x64 version and my windows 10 is 64bit.
Any ideas?

It seems like NodeJS is looking for that PATH for the executable which isn't set by your OS. Please try this solution and let me know.
BTW you can also try to run the script directly from the source as mentioned in the documentation.

That worked a treat, thanks! Entering the commands in cmd didn't do anything, but thankfully the more permanent solution via control panel worked right away.

Kodi UWP working

i found a working KODI. Took me quite a while to find it since it was removed from all their mirrors
it seems. Well all but one...
Maybe we should mirror it somewhere else?

i tried with the latest version there
u have to install the certificate following this guide
https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Universal_Windows_Platform
also u have to set the date back (i set it back to 2018) otherwise the certificate isnt valid anymore
This is still quite a very helpful app for our Oldie devices
p.s. unfortunately latest version posted there seems to hang when going into settings
after waiting for a long time seems to respond though
Issues:
-when installing repos under filemanager it can only connect to http repos but not to https repos
-later with install addons from zip it cant install from the http either
- when copying repo as zip to home folder and installing addon from zip kodi crashes most of the time
- the repos still get installed when trying to install from repo it cant connect though
i think we need a firewall rule for kodi no idea how to create one for an uwp app though

Oh. I didn't realize that. You can not on RT8.1 but I'm unsure whether appxsym works on Win10 either.

Now only newer versions are available. Can someone share the version compatible with Win10 RT?

Hello again, You did a great job. The app is working on win 10 RT.
There is something wrong with the certificate, it's giving error for that. Then I tried to install the certificate from .appx file.

Great, I'm happy it worked..
I had to repackage the app to modify the build from 15063 to 15035 so I may select the wrong certificate, will check that.
Edit: correct Matrix version was with wrong certificate (already fixed), but Nexus's certificate is fine.

Are you on Discord?
It would be great if you can link your work on Discord also. Kodi on Surface RT, is a great job. It solves many issues, Playing you tube is major one. All in one media player.

That's the main target, I'm trying to solve the support issue for legacy devices.
Yes I have discord account, but not familiar with it very much basic usage.
