[2.2+] Bootanimation Manager

This is a easy tool for managing Bootanimations
PC Version no longer supported
REQUIREMENTS
Android OS [2.2+]
Phone Rooted
Superuser
Busybox
ANY File explorer with txt/csv mimetype (like Root Explorer or OI FileManager)
Human or similar
FEATURES:
Backups current bootanimation to SD (both, system and data bootanimation)
Installs new bootanimation.zip (no need to change name)
Show Preview of any Bootanimation (no CWM files, no MIUI ones)
Save preview of current showing bootanimation (adjustable framerate since 1.1)*
*This feature needs time, because we're saving frame by frame, so it depends on the size of the images (480x800 will be slower than 240x320)

Build bootanimations from PNG sequence - Almost done right now, still a bit messed up at organization of frames
Build bootanimations from GIF
Resize bootanimations
Get bootanimation default size from current bootanimation on phone **

Didn't work on my GT-i9100.
Plugged in with debug ON
error when backup
and nothing happened when pushed

Files extracted and all that but when I click "Bootanimation Manager" to open it, nothing happens. My adb was causing me issues earlier in the week so I removed it. Is that possibly the issue?

Is there a tutorial or anything? Has anybody had success ? Where do you get the animations? Help? Thanks

please try on cmd console, "java -version", if you dont get something like

java version "1.6.0_31"

Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
Then, java is your problem, not adb. Java download here

Get your animations on your device forum. They should be .zip files. Just drag and drop, and when you see preview, connect device, and press push button.
PLEASE PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS PUSHING / PULLING, TRY MANUALLY (adb pull /system/media/bootanimation.zip C:\\bootanimation.zip), ON MY SGS2 (I9100), CM7 DON'T LET YOU PULL, WHILE CM9 LETS, THIS IS NOT APP ISSUE, BUT ROM ISSUE .

They're hard to find, I already tried duh!. I better made a robot.
News: Got bootanimation building working! (fixed the bug of java organizing images like 1,10,11,12,...,2,20,21,... that was annoying)
Ill upload a 1080p video when my friend give me his phone for using as testing device (I wont record with X10 mini po for use S2 as test device, 1080p vs 480p )

What about an app same as this + server full of bootanimations, downloadable via OTA ? .
Making the app on android is really easier, no need to use adb, and we can backup and change bootanimation just mounting filesystems.

QuickTerminal is a simple way to run your daily commands without the need of rewriting manually.
Add your own Command to a list choosing the output type whether it is a simple toast message or even a dialog.
Choose From many of precoded functions like MacChanging and checking, Signal Resetting and the usuall Rebooting into Recovery or Bootloader.
Disable MediaScan on Boot and even wipe Dalvik Cache.
Run any command in a simple menu choosing whether to run it as a User Or SuperUser (SU).
Run the linux Commands as easily as it can go.
No need to recall your commands any more just add them and you're done.
With MyScripts tab just add your scripts to /QuickTerminal/MyScripts and start running them manually via the app.
If anyone is having a crash, try to delete the QuickTerminal Folder in the sdCard and try again. this should help against any problem

Love this app makes life so much easier for me.
I'm a flashaholic so constantly trying new ROMs and combination of scripts. A lot of these scripts are command line based so being able to assign a command to a button using quick root is ideal.
Haven't really tried the rest of the app but will post when I've had a chance to check out more of the functions.

I haven't downloaded the app yet, but I'm just wondering, how does the mac address changer work? I have tried using a terminal emulator code to change it with no success so I'm wondering if this one is different.

I used the following commands

ifconfig wlan0 hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55 ( whatever the macAddress)
ifconfig wlan0 up (turn it on once again)

The Sliding cant be done in 2.3 as far as i know, i will check if i can do it or maybe make a standolne version for 2.3

The App uses the Android built-in download service. To me the indicator works fine

Don't know how to describe the issue better than with a screenshot so here it is.
Would you happen to know what is going on/why this is happening ?

After downloading the update fails to install. My version official installed is 2.17

Are you using split mode on your tablet to interact with more than one App? By the way I can't see the malfunction. WhatsApp Beta DL has no user interface. All you can see is that small white window.

Install process is controlled by Package Manager which belongs to Android. The only task of WhatsApp Beta DL is to download the APK from WhatsApp servers.

Yes I do use split screen mode that way, of course. But it was here used just to be able to browse faster before sending the post with the screenshot.
The malfunction is that it could not find a more recent build when available, detected the version installed as older than an actual older one, and offers to download the latter.

Today's 3.7 update fixed the older version offered to download but still doesn't detect the latest web version available.
Could it be that WhatsApp servers are not up to date themselves sometimes ?

To me it works. Yes, right. WhatsApp servers are not always up to date. The real latest version is first released on Play Store and then on their servers

How would you like to be first to try out this new theming app? How would you like to see a little color instead of stock white notifications?​
I am looking for Nexus device owners to test Material Notifications. I have a Nexus 7 (2013) and I find that it runs perfectly on it, but before sharing it with the wider community, I would like to make sure it runs well on other Nexuses.
If your device is not a Nexus, or if you are using a custom rom, this probably won't work. If it does work, I would be glad to know.
Edit: Tested, works on official CM.
Whatever device you own, make sure you have a nandroid backup before using this app. If you get stuck in a bootloop or if your systemUI force closes, you can easily sort the problem by going into TWRP, mounting your system, opening the file explorer and deleting color.apk from system/vendor/overlay. Or you can use your nandroid.
Please note that I am not responsible if you brick your phone. Only test this app if you know what you are doing.

I'm not sure, but having said that there are lots of root apps and other types of theming apps (e.g. navbar) on the Playstore...

i found a working KODI. Took me quite a while to find it since it was removed from all their mirrors
it seems. Well all but one...
Maybe we should mirror it somewhere else?

i tried with the latest version there
u have to install the certificate following this guide

also u have to set the date back (i set it back to 2018) otherwise the certificate isnt valid anymore
This is still quite a very helpful app for our Oldie devices
p.s. unfortunately latest version posted there seems to hang when going into settings
after waiting for a long time seems to respond though
Issues:
-when installing repos under filemanager it can only connect to http repos but not to https repos
-later with install addons from zip it cant install from the http either
- when copying repo as zip to home folder and installing addon from zip kodi crashes most of the time
- the repos still get installed when trying to install from repo it cant connect though
i think we need a firewall rule for kodi no idea how to create one for an uwp app though

i tried with the latest version there
u have to install the certificate following this guide
https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Universal_Windows_Platform
also u have to set the date back (i set it back to 2018) otherwise the certificate isnt valid anymore
This is still quite a very helpful app for our Oldie devices
p.s. unfortunately latest version posted there seems to hang when going into settings
after waiting for a long time seems to respond though
Issues:
-when installing repos under filemanager it can only connect to http repos but not to https repos
-later with install addons from zip it cant install from the http either
- when copying repo as zip to home folder and installing addon from zip kodi crashes most of the time

Thanks for reply. But these are the new versions, i tried them but couldn't get it installed, they are .appxsym files.
I have surface rt 8.1, can we install .appxsym?

Oh. I didn't realize that. You can not on RT8.1 but I'm unsure whether appxsym works on Win10 either.

Now only newer versions are available. Can someone share the version compatible with Win10 RT?

also if you are interested I'm working on many Windows ARM apps (UWP) but I don't have any way to test them on WinRT, it will be nice if you can help. thanks.

That would be great, if it works. Right now I am at work, will try this for sure in win10 RT. And will leave a reply about it went.

Hello again, You did a great job. The app is working on win 10 RT.
There is something wrong with the certificate, it's giving error for that. Then I tried to install the certificate from .appx file.
It is installed. Could not try for a long time, will reply again if found some problem.

Great, I'm happy it worked..
I had to repackage the app to modify the build from 15063 to 15035 so I may select the wrong certificate, will check that.
Edit: correct Matrix version was with wrong certificate (already fixed), but Nexus's certificate is fine.

That's the main target, I'm trying to solve the support issue for legacy devices.
