[APP][2.3+][Root]Quick Terminal [Make your own Command] - Android Apps and Games

Quick Terminal
Now On Xda Main Page !!
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/quickly-execute-terminal-commands-with-quick-terminal/
QuickTerminal is a simple way to run your daily commands without the need of rewriting manually.
Add your own Command to a list choosing the output type whether it is a simple toast message or even a dialog.
Choose From many of precoded functions like MacChanging and checking, Signal Resetting and the usuall Rebooting into Recovery or Bootloader.
Disable MediaScan on Boot and even wipe Dalvik Cache.
Run any command in a simple menu choosing whether to run it as a User Or SuperUser (SU).
Run the linux Commands as easily as it can go.
No need to recall your commands any more just add them and you're done.
With MyScripts tab just add your scripts to /QuickTerminal/MyScripts and start running them manually via the app.
If anyone is having a crash, try to delete the QuickTerminal Folder in the sdCard and try again. this should help against any problem
If anyone is having any crash please send me a message to try and fix it.
Thats it for now.
Am Open to any new features which am able to make The Quick Toggle tab needs more but i dont know what to add :fingers-crossed:
Am still new to android and learning
New UI !!

Sorry forgot to reply earlier.
Love this app makes life so much easier for me.
I'm a flashaholic so constantly trying new ROMs and combination of scripts. A lot of these scripts are command line based so being able to assign a command to a button using quick root is ideal.
Haven't really tried the rest of the app but will post when I've had a chance to check out more of the functions.

Thank you for your feedback

I haven't downloaded the app yet, but I'm just wondering, how does the mac address changer work? I have tried using a terminal emulator code to change it with no success so I'm wondering if this one is different.

I wish you make it working for 2.3 or early OS. I find your app very awesome sir.

[App][4.0] GNow Handlebars [Google Now][Downloader][Installer][Remover]

GNow Handlebars
Purpose
Are you tired of flashing Google Now zips only to find out the flash did not work or messed up something unintentionally?
Are you tired of manually installing Google Now components over and over again to find that you some how made a mistake
and need to start over?
Do you not fully understand how to flash zips or manually add files to your system folders?
Well fear no more.
Introducing the first application that can download, install or remove Google Now and restore Google
Search to your phone without the need of flashing zips or manually adding and manipulating the files.
There have been a lot of users with issues installing and uninstalling Google Now for ICS. This is my second solution for those users.
This is only an application that deals with the many different variations of Google Now that were created in this news worthy thread: The Google Now for ICS Project
This application allows users to quickly install Google Now to see if it works for them and if it does not, it allows these users to restore their original Google Search.
This thread is not and will not be about issues with specific modded Google Now apks, go here: The Google Now for ICS Project for that. I have no problem incorporating new apks into the installer. But I will not attempt to deal with issues outside of the installer.
Requirements
Rooted
ICS
Deodexed ROM
Instructions
[COLOR ="red"]Before you install Google Now check if voicesearch.apk is installed, if so rename to voicesearch.apk.bak[/COLOR]
1. Open app
2. Make a choice ("a" or "b" not both)
a. Install (Install Google Now)
- choose apk
b. Restore (Restore Google Search)
- rename voicesearch.apk.bak to voicesearch.apk
c. Exit
If You Need App Support
Please provide the following info:

Where you downloaded apk from
What steps you took
What were the results
Are any of the following installed:

Velvet.apk

Simple, right?
I hope this helps someone.

The play store cost $25 to open a developers account and for a free app, I just don't see that happening.
I need it up on a market that gives me stats on downloads and other info. I'm looking into SlideMe right now.
Unless someone wants to donate the funds to get it up and started.
Update: check OP, the app is available in the SlideMe market

Actually, the message I'm getting is Access denied.. I tried altering the name on the link and got a diffrent message of Not Found.. meaning the app is apparently on SlideME, but none of us are allowed to access the page to download it..
"Whoops! Access denied...
It seems you do not have access to this page. Do not worry, there are ways to fix this.
If you believe this message to be an error, please tell us what happened when you were trying to access http://slideme.org/application/gnow-handlebars.
You can always hit the back button of your browser to return to the previous page or go to homepage. Maybe you were not supposed to be here in the first place."

Do you have android terminal or equivalent? If so can you run command "df" in root mode and tell me what you get for "system" under "free"
I can't get it installed. I have tried installing all of the different versions. It downloads successfully and says that it installed successfully, but it doesn't show up anywhere. It's not in my apps list or anything. I have restarted my device and I still can't find it. Am I doing something wrong?

FAQs:
q: Where can I find the modified Samba source code?
a: Here it is.
q: Why my transfer speed decrease when I turn off the screen?
a: Enable the option 'Lock Wifi'. If your device is running at least Android 2.3.x, you should get full speed transfer even when the screen is off, otherwise enable the option 'Lock screen' too.
q: How can I automate the application start/stop?
a: Use the following broadcast intents:
START: berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.START
STOP: berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.STOP
If you are a Tasker user, please follow these steps (thanks to bcrook)
Create a new Task (eg. Start SambaDroid) in Tasker
Add a new action > Misc > Send Intent
Set the action to berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.START , Cat = None, the rest you can leave as defaults
Save the action and task
Repeat for berserker.android.apps.sambadroid.command.STOP intent
Create a profile to trigger the tasks (or launch w/ NFC or whatever you want)
You can test the Task by clicking on the Task and clicking the Play icon in the lower right of the popup.

So I cannot connect too.
Edit: the user root as suggested does not help.

What is the difference between Netbios name and Server string?
From Windows I always see SAMBADROID in the network neighborhood even I changed the server string. Is it hardcoded?
The NetBIOS name is not seen in Windows.
Please add a username for us windows user.
The logfile does not provide any information about failed logins.
Nice. Great to see it alive again. I'll test it when I get some time later.
Thanks for the beta and for finding time to reviving this app!

Thanks for reporting this: it seems that we have here a problem with the installation (the service doesn't find the config file).
You can try to:
Edit options (just to override the new config file)
reinstall the application
post a screenshot of your directory structure inside /data/data/berserker.android.apps.sambadroid/samba (this could really help)
Please let me know

Thanks for the reply. I tried editing the settings, reinstalling and disable+enable wifi but still have the same type of errors.

Out of curiosity is it possible for these to integrate with Busybox to be used in the Android terminal itself? Lost count of the number of times I've tried to use "man" on a command because I forgot the syntax or didn't know which one I needed.

Sylvain
Hi.
I downloaded the man pages to use the app offline. now it's stock at extracting process window (the extracting process is very slow and it stops when the screen goes off). it would be a lot better if you make it possible to download, extract and place the man pages on SD card manually.
Regards.

Hello,
Unzip the man pages is a long process, it's true. Perhaps, it would be better in external service.
Now, you can already make the operation manually.
First, download the manpages html version on that link : http://www.ssaurel.com/manpages/ManPages.zip
Then, you mut unzip the archive in the external directory of your device in the following directoty : <ROOT_EXTERNAL_DIR>/Android/data/com.ssaurel.manpages/
Now, when you launch Linux Man Pages, man pages will be used from offline version.
Tell me if you have problem to make that process manually.

thank you.
the link says "404 Not found"
But I used my file explorer and went to the directory, the manpages zip file was already there ( since I downloaded it through the app) I extracted it by my file manager in almost 1 min.
I think the process being like this is so much better and quicker. but whatever man, I needed this app so much. Thank you! :good:
EDIT: and don't get me wrong, but seems I'm out of thanks for today. the "8 Thanks per day" rule! sorry :-/

An ad blocker that uses the hosts file. The hosts file contains a list of mappings between hostnames and IP addresses. When an app requests an ad, that request is directed to 127.0.0.1 which does nothing. There are options to run a web server to respond to blocked hostnames and to direct requests to the IP address of your choosing. You can download hosts files from the app but it is possible to use your own and to add certain sites to the white- and black-lists.

You're modifying hosts file right ?
There are 4 sources you used. All of them having same adresses to block. (They are not 100% same but they are having same sites to block.)
So there are double even triple entries on hosts file which causes slow downs & lags.

Yes, modifying hosts for sure.
If you check source code on GitHub you will see that script by it self remove double lines, also remove empty lines and add one empty at the end of a file

[MOD][THEME] WhatsApp desktop dark mode

I know this is not related to mobile but thought I'd share this here with everyone.
I've been so sick of the eye burning light colored UI on WhatsApp desktop for so long and decided to come up with a dark mode myself. Here's a screenshot of the result.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It was very satisfying and thought this is worth sharing. Made a little installer script for both Windows and macOS and published it as an open-source project.
FYI, this is not a modded version of WhatsApp. It'll just modify the styling of your currently installed build of WhatsApp desktop. It's 100% safe and anybody's welcome to look through the source code and review.
Downloads and Instructions :
https://github.com/m4heshd/whatsapp-desktop-dark
Please note that this script won't work with microsoft store or app store version of WhatsApp desktop
Enjoy!!!
Can not run the file in Mac, it's a text file. Why can't people leave proper instructions?

Hi,
Thank you for trying this out. The error occurs because you have the windows store version of WhatsApp. You can find the issue on Github here.
https://github.com/m4heshd/whatsapp-desktop-dark/issues/3
As mentioned in the above issue, please try the direct download version from their web and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for trying this out. That's weird because I'm unable to reproduce this issue.
Can you check your WhatsApp version and let me know?

Hi @Liftedcorn,
You're very welcome and thanks for trying this out.
Unfortunately emojis on the emoji tab are loaded to a canvas from one big JPG with a white background. So it's not fixable at all. I've tried. Really sorry about that.

It's totally fine.... Not a big issue ?
Works like a charm. Thank You again. ?
I get this message when trying to run it: 'wmic' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I'm using official Whatsapp desktop 0.3.4375 from the download page, not app store, using the windows x86/x64 version and my windows 10 is 64bit.
Any ideas?

Oops. That seems to be a newer version. It looks like the windows version haven't received that update yet. Will release the theme update as soon as this WhatsApp update is available on both platforms. Thanks for reporting.

It seems like NodeJS is looking for that PATH for the executable which isn't set by your OS. Please try this solution and let me know.
BTW you can also try to run the script directly from the source as mentioned in the documentation.

That worked a treat, thanks! Entering the commands in cmd didn't do anything, but thankfully the more permanent solution via control panel worked right away.
