To open options page, select Tools ~> Extensions. Find APK Downloader, and you'll see Options at the end of the description

Another app made by an asian that rushed to release without thorough testing. Go figure. Someone lock this thread.

Please keep in mind that the problem comes from ( some ) users, not the extension itself. The extension works as it should. But some people use it to do bad things, and I really don't want that.

Is it possible to FIX those issues and get this back up and running? I would really love this.

But isn't it possible to make backups of paid apps from your phone itself? (I haven't bought any apps either)
So in that sense, your extension wouldn't be increasing piracy at all. And those who wish to pirate would anyway.
This app otherwise would be insanely useful!

This extension makes piracy more easy...
Doesnt mean everyone will pirate though. In my case, some apps cant be downloaded using market app ( sucks living in asia when it comes to that) thats where this comes in handy

I know this is not related to mobile but thought I'd share this here with everyone.
I've been so sick of the eye burning light colored UI on WhatsApp desktop for so long and decided to come up with a dark mode myself. Here's a screenshot of the result.

It was very satisfying and thought this is worth sharing. Made a little installer script for both Windows and macOS and published it as an open-source project.
FYI, this is not a modded version of WhatsApp. It'll just modify the styling of your currently installed build of WhatsApp desktop. It's 100% safe and anybody's welcome to look through the source code and review.

Unfortunately emojis on the emoji tab are loaded to a canvas from one big JPG with a white background. So it's not fixable at all. I've tried. Really sorry about that.

I get this message when trying to run it: 'wmic' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I'm using official Whatsapp desktop 0.3.4375 from the download page, not app store, using the windows x86/x64 version and my windows 10 is 64bit.
Any ideas?

Oops. That seems to be a newer version. It looks like the windows version haven't received that update yet. Will release the theme update as soon as this WhatsApp update is available on both platforms. Thanks for reporting.

It seems like NodeJS is looking for that PATH for the executable which isn't set by your OS. Please try this solution and let me know.
BTW you can also try to run the script directly from the source as mentioned in the documentation.

That worked a treat, thanks! Entering the commands in cmd didn't do anything, but thankfully the more permanent solution via control panel worked right away.

[GUIDE] Install Samsung Notes app on any rooted device

Hello guys,
I've always wanted to install Samsung notes app on my non-samsung device (tested this on device with RROS with android 7.1.2).
So if anyone wants to do the same, here's the process.
TBH, this thread is pointless as syncing to samsung account doesn't work after installing. So this is only for people who want the other writing or drawing features.
1. Download zip file from link (found it on A thread on xda, thanks to @TECK )
I'm also attaching the file in case the link's broken
2. Place the contents in respective folders (com.samsung.device.jar in "/system/framework/" and com.samsung.device.xml in "/system/etc/permissions/". Leave the rest) in root folder using a root browser(like ES) manually (I did not try flashing it).
Step 2 is a must as the apk checks if your device is a Samsung one before getting installed. The file (com.samsung.device) does this trick.
3. Restart your device.
4. Install Samsung Notes apk.
5. Enjoy.
Note : just that this process worked on my device, it doesn't mean it will work on all device (but mostly, it will work). Try it at your own risk.

Hi there, this method does not work on my rooted Xiaomi device.
Imma quite sure that both 2 files are correctly placed with ur instructions
but Google Play store still warns me that the app is not available for my device
and I have tried to use ADB on my PC to force install the apk file, that works but
when I tap the icon on my phone to start the app, it crashs immediately
can u help me with that? thanks very much, I do appreciate

Did you try the latest version? I've faced this issue with older ones.
It still works on mine.
If using the same version as mine doesn't help, try getting the logcat using some logcat reader from play store.

Try enabling all permissions for the app from the settings. I never got such logcat... What's your android version?

And its android 10 sir
I think the issue is mainly about these lines.
It seems to request packages called com.samsung.android.samsungaccount and others.
Do u have apk or jar files to install samsung (account) service framework sir?

Alright first check if the files are correctly placed. Rename the apk file to its package name and place it in /system/app/ reboot, enable permissions reboot and check.
I think this problem is because AOSP package installer and xiaomi's are different.

It works on some devices.. I think it depends on the oem too because when I install it on stock android I get this error.
And if someone has the same error, this works as we place the required libraries in required places. I read somewhere even before starting this thread that it works by direct installation on some Huawei Devices too.
So from what you've said, I can conclude that it doesn't work on stock ones and some oems. Don't you think so?

It works fine under Windows 10 on Arm32.
But, under Windows RT 8.1, it prompts "The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library E:\Softwares\TigerVNC(April 10th)\No TLS\winvnc4.exe" when I double click winvnc4.exe.

BTW, I try Otter-Browser under Windows RT 8.1, similar issue occurred. It works under Windows 10 on Arm, but it crashed when open www.bilibili.com. I also attached the screenshots.

Thanks, those screenshots help a lot. bilibili crashing is pretty expected, though. WebKit porting kinda sucks and I'm the only one who does it at the moment

There are missing dll's like api-ms-win-crt-convert-l1-1-0.dll or api-ms-win-crt-heap-l1-1-0.dll
Are there dll's for Win 8.1 RT?
I haven't made any updates at all on the system to be able to Jailbreak it and stuff.
@yulincat and @frylockk19 obviously have these dll's because they're having another error.
SuperTuxKart and Otter Browser are also not working because of missing dll's.
Any help maybe?

You need the file "PooCRT.tar.xz". It's just the Windows UCRT, with a joke name. It's available on my site and all mirrors of my project. https://github.com/armdevvel/mxe-UNSTABLE/blob/master/resources/PooCRT.tar.xz?raw=true.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I'm dealing with knee surgery right now . You'll likely still get errors unless you install Windows 10. I haven't figured out what causes this but once I get healed up I will.

My friend got back to me and said a lot of the more recent posts are claiming to not get a response from the author. She's gonna wait until there's some activity from them.

I lived in Malaysia, sometimes i used NordVPN to access it. Reroute to singapore.

Basically, he said
1. He got rid of his iPad cos he needed a pen 2. Zui is crap. Not a day goes by without rebooting the tablet
3. Unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash miui
4. Sharing files between xiaomi phones and tablet is easier. So is screen sharing with win10
5. System is more stable
6. Less cursor movement when using the pen
7. I think the rom is debloated cos he mentioned there’s less preloaded miui apps
8. Some may feel zui’s PC mode is better, but he doesn’t think so. YMMV
9. He didn’t install camera (didn’t mention why). But scanning of QR codes work (apparently)
10. No changing of colour temperature and blue light filter
