Dasaita PX6 SD unmounted on every boot - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

I've got a PX6 unit running the latest firmware from Dasaita: HA3_rk3399_10.0_ota(20210311). It's rooted but otherwise stock. I'm running Car Launcher Pro as my launcher, and Poweramp as my music player. My SD card is a Samsung Evo Plus 128GB formatted to FAT32.
After a warm boot, the SD card is not mounted, causing Poweramp to lose all its music. To get it back I have to physically eject the SD card and re-insert it, which is incredibly annoying at the start of every journey.
I have contacted Dasaita but have not yet received a reply.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have the PX6 unit running the latest MCU, but only Android 9 ROM (none of the downloaded Android 10 ROMs seem to work) and I have a similar issue with my USB1 not being read always. But USB2 or 3 is always available Would love to know where you got a working ROM? The one from Dasaita website will not load.

You are not missing anything running Android 10.
The most stable working version I believe is 8, all versions post 8 are rushed ported bug fests.
Stop chasing a higher number.

My suggestion is to copy the music (some or as much of it as you can get) from the SD card to the internal memory and set that folder as the primary folder for PowerAmp. These units seem to have more difficulty mounting SD cards, especially higher capacity ones.
I've had a little better luck with having fewer folders with more files than the other way round. By at least having some music files in the head unit storage, this should get PowerAmp playing music sooner and it should catalog the files on the SD as needed in the background once the SD card is mounted.

I've been kind of torn between using the "warm boot/auto sleep" capability vs just having the head unit shut down every time. It seems the "auto sleep" function never brings the head unit back up the way it was when the car was turned off.
Since the cold boot time is so "short" (I use that word rather loosely here) it's probably just as well to let the unit shut down after n minutes/seconds. Like what's the use if the "fast warm boot" requires us to have to fiddle with stuff every time (e.g. popping SD card out/in, etc)?

I appreciate your input! I am not "chasing a higher number", I am just trying to realize the features that were supposed to be in the product I purchased, such as split screens, 1280x1024 resolution and Android 10. Instead I got 1024x600 and Android 9 and very unstable. Navigation link fails to launch Wayze or Google Maps, VLC cannot display any video , they play but there is no video (audio sounds great) and an awful looking radio app.
I hear great things about the stability of the PX6 Android 9 version rk3399-userdebug 9 PQ2A.190305.002 20191210.152625 test keys. Supposed to be VERY stable and fast. Anyone have this version?

Sadly was an eBay purchase that was "NEW IN BOX", but according to the stickers was an Amazon return.. All packing was perfect, I suspect that the purchaser got the wrong unit for his A/C controls.
Dasaita model is HA-5226-MAX6-CP, also shows X002F1YJQ9.
Instructions were clear, all components were still factory packaged, I just want a stable usable preferably factory (unmodified) ROM.
And I'd be happy if I could find a stable A9 ROM. Two weeks of searching and enough is enough.

Mine came with 10, I just updated it to a slightly newer version. Was really hoping not to use internal memory as its a pain copying stuff over when you want to chop & change music around, vs just bringing the car inside and doing it on the computer, especially as updates tend to wipe the internal memory, or require a factory reset (which doesn't preserve userdata on these units)
Will try the cold boot and see if I can live with that, otherwise it may be back to Malaysk ROM (which worked great on my PX5). Anyone know if the issue is resolved on that ROM?
I'm also annoyed that it was sold as supporting bluetooth tethering, but does not actually do so, but turning that option on is what killed my PX5, so I'm reluctant to mess with that.

Just seen that a new firmware is out, so might try that.
UPDATE2: Ignore below. Firmware update didn't fix it.
UPDATE:
Firmware HA3_rk3399_10.0_ota(20210507)升级包 seems to have solved it, and also solved the issue where Car Launcher wasn't updating track names and album art reliably.
I'll confirm tomorrow when the radio has had more time to idle, but I think this is the fix!
As a bonus, I was able to dirty flash without issue. Had to re-root but that's to be expected.
I first updated the MCU to 3.75B and that did not fix it, so an MCU update probably isn't necessary.

Is there going to be any xda support on this? It's still trickling into Kmart stores right now. but if we are able to OC this, that would be great
Doubt it...
its a great little device for little cash. i bought one today after i heard. glad i did. was this or the bb chumby. this blows it away
Hey Pen --
Have you tried the Kindle app on it? I want an ereader that is bigger than my MT3G and I think one of these would foot the bill if I can find one. My local store only had one and it was on hold for somebody.
I am going to get a rain check today.
until they release the patch which allows the market to work i havent tried it. they should have the patch released by tomorrow
How is the screen?
How do you like the screen and how is its performance in general.
over all i like the device. im used to a resistive screen so thats not a problem. doesnt appear to have the auto rotate screen but waiting to hear back from them to find out what the deal is. the manual talks about auto rotating the screen so it should have it. lack of bluetooth is another draw back but i really dont need it. they also have a 2.5mm headphone jack on them instead of a 3.5 like normal but they are addressing that with an adapter i do believe.
power consumption wasnt too bad. i was using the device for 5 hours yesterday and only used a 1/4 reserve from what it said. so i was only down to around 72% charge after playing with it for 5 hours. was reasonably bright enough in a brightly lit room. the angle one can see is pretty good as well.
the microsd card slot isnt in line properly. so if you insert a card you will want to put a price of tape on the end of it so when you release it you can pull it out. i played hell getting the thing to pull out and it was dragging the top of the card so had to use a pair of tweezers to pull it out.
cant access the market yet so havent tried the nook or kindle apps but that will be my next thing. looking at pictures was good. just as good as my digi pic frame.
over all for what i bought it for i do believe it will work a treat. i was going to buy a chumby either the bb or the sony branded chumby and this will work so much better then either of those two devices.
Augen Tablet
Thanks for the info pen.
It surprises me that that it has a 2.5mm jack. I wonder how it ended up with that. You can get an adapter on Amazon or ebay for a buck or two. That would be important for me because I'd like to be able to watch movies on it when I am on the train to work. That is also why I am interested in the Kindle app.
Everything that I have read seems to indicate that it has an accelerometer to rotate the screen.
I get the feeling that Augen underestimated the interest this device was going to generate and put it on the market when it wasn't completely ready, thinking they could dabble a little and fix problems on the fly with the couple of people that bought them. oops.
My Augen Gentouch78 experience
I just picked up my Augen yesterday at the KMart here in Phoenix (KMart actually called me on my raincheck I had made over the phone! Kudos to them). I like the form factor but am quite disappointed overall. While I don't think it is sluggish in general, the resistive touch screen makes it seem that way. Using your fingernail or an old pda stylus helps considerably in that regard.
Couple of negatives:
1. Market download does not work, as others have pointed out (it just stays in the "Starting Download" phase.
2. Micro SD card is hard to insert/remove (you need to use your fingernail in both cases, and to remove you need to also flick it down a bit to slide out as it seems to catch on the lip of the slot).
3. The device could not "Mount" when connected to my PC via USB. I had better luck when the SD card was not in the device, as I was able to Mount it once then, and saw that I had 1.3GB of free space... even though the device SD card info showed only 246ishMB free... what's up with that? (documentation did say there was 2GB available, so the Mounted drive size was closer).
4. I lost sound twice.. had to power off to get it back (all sounds started coming out as loud white noise). Seems to occur when pressing the top front part of the frame... yup, near where the menu/home/back buttons are.
5. Percentage battery use shows that monitoring cellular network was using 57% of the battery, and suggested turning it off. However, you can't... network settings only have WiFi (I curiously did find a place where it prompted me to turn on Bluetooth, but I don't think it did anything).
6. I wanted to return the unit due to the sound problem, but wanted to clear out my google account info... the factory reset does nothing other than power off the unit, even though that is how they say to clear out all data including the google account data.
7. No auto-rotate. No rotate at all that I can see. Nothing in the setup relating to that, even though the manual says it should be there.
8. Non-US Standard earphone jack
9. No mic or web cam
10. Resistive touch screen makes typing on the on-screen keyboard a PITA. I did get somewhat use to it after a while, but still don't like having to press firmly.
On the positive side:
After manually copying a ripped DVD movie in mp4 format onto my SD card and inserting it into the unit, it played great.
So, first impressions are basically way down there for me.
Some other specs:
- Telechips TCC8900 ARM CPU (on an eval board no-less!)
- Android 2.1 - Update 1
- Build 2010-07-21 (boy did they push these out the door... likely with no testing!!)

they are pushing an update out should be out tonight or tomorrow to fix a couple of the things. i believe the eval board is not correct as someone has found the chinese version of this and it has been out for a while. i just think the cooking of this device wasnt the best. i am just hoping they push 2.2 out on it pretty quickly.
I also got one today
I can confirm the market is not working for me either.. Yes build date is really new. haha.. I'm trying to get apps installed by emailing myself APK's to Gmail but I need something like APKatcher to do it. So so far I've not installed anything, but going into settings, aplications and manage I was able to kill the running apps and speed it up.
So far it's a cool little device. I also lost sound once and a reboot fixed it. haha (interesting) I watched 20 minutes of avatar and it looks incredible and gets much louder than a cell phone.. My 16GB MicroSD card went in fine.
There's a Stylus if you guys didn't figure that out yet. Makes typing extremely easy.
Anyone know how I can install some APK's?
ES File Manager comes Pre Loaded.. you can add any app APK to the SD card. and use ES File Manager to install
Installing Quadrant, and some games right now.. I'll post back
Rainchecks
I got two rain checks tonight. I want to get one for myself and I know my wife will want one if it is cool.
If anybody really wants one and lives in Eastern PA, they have 4 of them in the Reading PA store. That is a little far for me to drive and I like getting a rain check because I can make sure they are going to put out an update to make the market work.
It seems like the early reviews are mixed at best but c'mon...they are $150. I mean, if I can get my 6 year old to watch a thomas the tank engine video on it for a few minutes of peace each day, I have gotten my money's worth.
Dev thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7409528#post7409528
Well I got one yesterday and it is horrible.
I am hoping their support can help me get the screen a bit more responsive.
I mean I have to press on it like I'm trying to push through it.
The manual says there supposed to be a calibrations but there isn't.
The manual says there is an option to allow this to orientate according tot he direction held but theres not.
The manual says that when you charge the device the light should be red in color turning green when fully charged well I charged over night and its still red.
When I turn it on it says 100% battery...
Also I went into market which is like that on my Droid1, Incredible, Droidx... and chose to install a app like dropbox, weatherbug, MyMemo, SlingPlayer and it sis there saying downloading but its not.
I have my wifi connected to the device...
Anyone else with ideas???
I so wanted this to be a iPad alternative!!!
Thanks
I got one last night... I side loaded a bunch of apps from my Incredible... LauncherPro, Pandora, Quick Settings, Android System Info... Awesome Drop...they all work... The weird thing is some of the apps force the screen to Portrait, but i haven't found an app yet to turn it back.. (aside from rebooting)
I noticed the sound is wonky... sometimes it works...
I also noticed something installed called Dev Tools... It has a terminal, a bunch of dev settings, a package browser, sync tester, and some google tools..
I got one today as well. So far, all is not well.
Wifi seems to be an issue. I can connect to my network if I turn off security, but when I enable WEP, this thing just sits here and says 'Obtaining IP Address' and then shows 'Unsuccessful'. I have tons of other devices connected. The problem is not the network.
So, with security off, I played with it a bit. The browser seems to work fine. It defaults to mobile pages and I'd love to turn that off. No Flash as expected.
I also have a problem with sound. When anything produces sound (mp3, video, youtube, even clicking on something) all I get is horrible white noise.
I get constant alerts that things have failed to download. I assume that this is due to the Marketplace issue.
I threw in a micro SD that I had. I have no problems with it sticking as others have reported.
I will admit that this is my first taste of Android. I am a professional developer for other platforms though so I'm not a total knucklehead - just partial.
I hear that an update is imminent. Anyone have any info about this? Will it be done via the SD card? USB?
I REALLY want this to work
Greg
Update:
Looks like a reboot fixed a few things now. I am now connected to my secured network and sound is ok. So now I have a more or less functioning tablet.
You guys aren't having screen issues?
This is posted on the Augen website:
Patch for GENTOUCH78 Tablet (available 1700EST)
Dear Augen Customers (GEN Nation),
Thank you for showing your support and interest in our GENTOUCH78 Tablet. We became aware of the technical difficulties over the past 24 hours, and we will be posting an update for a patch to the software at the following link: http://augen.helpserve.com/ under latest download files within the next 48 hours.
Just to mention a few technical difficulties we have found and are patching are:
the memory size of 284mb not being shown as 2GB will be corrected as this is a glitch in the software.
Android Market place not being able to download apps will be fixed in this patch, as this is a glitch in the software. As of right now the operating system and pre-loaded applications are using .5 Gb so the available space displayed should be approximately 1.5GB.
To solve the issue with the headphone jack being too small for a 3.5 mm headphone connection, we ask you to send us an email to [email protected] with your Name, Adress, eMail Adress along with a proof of purchase. We will be sending you at our expense the 2.5 mm headphones to go along with the unit within 15-20 days. All future products that will be manufactured will have the new patch and a 2.5mm earbud to go along with the unit.
We want to make it a great experience for our customers. We apologize for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to make it a great experience at Augen.
Thank you for your support,
Daniel Gofman

General ROLL-UP -Joying 2GB - Sofia ( Non MTCB/MTCD )- Tips, tricks and mods

There is getting to be quite a bit of information to look through when looking for tip/solutions related to the new Joying 2GB / Sofia units. Since this is not a MTCB or MTCD unit, the threads seem to be scattered all over and very difficult to find in searching. I have seen roll-up threads for other units, that contain information such as ROMS available, tips, tricks and useful information. Kind of a "one stop shop" for the newer Joying HUs. If you have useful software, mod, tips, customization's, get something to work, etc please post here and I can include.
CPU Information - Rockchip Sofia x64 C3230RK / mali 450 GPU / Up to 1.2Ghz / 4 core / FYT5009 SoM - rated to run at up to 85C. My particular is unit clocked at 1.04Ghz.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...d-units/joying-intel-update-feb-22nd-t3561285
People have experienced issues with the Joying Launcher (UI3) after the update. This seems related to having other packages (google voice search ) installed prior to installing the ROM. Install time 25-35 minutes.
Recovery from non-bootable system - Without being able to access recovery, about the only solution is to reload the ROM package. Unzip ROM to SD card or USB stick, put in unit (GPS Maps slot, if using SD card ) and press the 'recessed' reset button. The unit should find the update and reload the ROM. This will wipe your data, but does leave the apps. If you use titanium backup, and have a backup, you can restore your data fairly easily. See blog article above for step by step instructions.
Root - Unit comes with root accessible in adb. SuperSU can be installed easily. There are 2 methods for installing superSU. The first method is an overwrite of the boot partition with a pre-rooted image. Problem here is if future upgrade makes boot partition changes, this method will overwrite with an older version. I recommend method 2, which modifies the existing boot partition ( need source so I can provide credit ).
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69648860&postcount=84&nocache=1&z=8361786322568856 (over-writes boot partition / may not work on Joying Feb update )
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4qmTV7N4JliSjZMdGg3Z18wbkU/view?usp=sharing ( modifies existing boot partition )
OS & Google Apps - Android 5.1.1 ASOP based w/ pico installation of google applications. Voice actions are supported with installation of 'Google App' from play store. No support for google search talk back.
Recovery- A recovery partition is present but does not have any type of graphical UI. It does look like a complete stock android ( command line ) recovery, but no access using USB is available. It maybe be possible using PC-PC OTG cable.
SD Cards - I have not heard of any sdcard size limitations, up to 200GB have been reported to work. Must be formatted as FAT32. NTFS, exFAT, and ext3/4 do not work. You can format a USB stick with ext4 and it will work fine.
Google Voice Calling - Stock BT dialer crashes when being called from google applications ( such as google voice search ). Workaround is available.

Apps not working after resume - The joying code will kill most applications when going into standby. This is really bad for apps that are supposed to be run at boot and background process, as they are not restarted when exiting standby. Symptoms include, widgets not updating, apps not getting GPS lock, process show running but background services are no longer running. This can be fixed by installing an updated apk file in /system/app/Sofia-1-C9-Server-V1.0 which removes the task killer. Also the key/button mods V2+ (below) will remove the task killer.

Immersive Mode / removes top navigation bar - No app needed - Full Screen on apps you choose, can be set from adb w/ root. Argument is list of package names separated by "," or "*" for all apps. ( survives reboot )
Specific apps:
settings put global policy_control immersive.full="com.google.android.apps.maps,com.pandora.android,com.spotify.music"
All apps:
settings put global policy_control immersive.full="*"
Clear / back to default
settings put global policy_control immersive.full=
Change Overscan - problems touching the corners, changing overscan can help:

Phone/Tablet view on apps - No app needed - Change from 160dpi -> 161dpi gives "phone" view of many apps instead of "tablet" with no noticeable size change to other things. Done via adb. Requires reboot to take effect.
> wm density 161 # ( phone mode apps )

Some people mentioned it was possible to boot into a restore function from a memory card with the update zip. If true, do we know what the exact process is? Any keys need to be held down?
Update, verified this procedure works:

I did recover from endless Android logo (resulting from trying to root with Joying HU root.zip found in this thread).
I did the following:
Put latest Joying update files to microSD card and insert it to GPS slot. Press and hold both reset and power buttons. Once it boots continue holding reset button.
This lead to automatic install of Joying update files and my HU was back alive but I hate the Joying company for not providing means to enter recovery and a complete ROM.
Edit: For me it did not ask if I want to update or not. It just began updating automatically. In contradict to the post above. But I was unable to boot to Android when I tried this.

My VW has reverse parking sensors. Does it not support those?
Just installed this unit. Speedwise it's night and day compared to my old Erisin (1gb 3188). Display is nice and crisp. Bit of a fiddle getting it mounted because of all the crap that needs to be stuffed behind it, but after some swearing and elbow grease I got it secured.
From the instructions, I cut an orange wire because I don't have a backup camera. I do however have optical parking sensors. On my Erisin this was supported (it showed a car model and visual indicators on screen). This unit doesn't appear to have this function. Can anyone confirm? I still get the beep from the speakers, so it's not really a big issue, but would be nice to know.

I'd like to work on this one.
But I have two questions;
1) did you manage to get any logs of how it failed?
2) When you made it unbootable, what was the exact procedure you used to recover the unit?

I didn't get any logs, as I couldn't connect to it until I reloaded the ROM. If I was able to make a USB connection, at least I could have looked at the logcat.
Procedure to recover: Insert USB drive with ROM, push recessed reset button, wait 30m for ROM to install, set up apps again. I have this procedure down pretty good. - The joys of playing with the system partition without USB access or recovery tools.

Actually, it turns out it does, however only when there's an obstacle (hopefully we can change this). Yesterday I only tested while stationary. Today I used it while driving, and noticed that whenever the sensor picked something up, the unit does actually display the sensors. It feels next to useless for me when it only shows on beeps, but at least we know it's there.
Well, that is the way my discarded Newsmy worked. Takes getting used to, but you then again you don't really need confirmation that "nothing" is in your way
Will need to think about this then, thank you.. Cant make up if I want this or the Ownice C500.

After updating to the January firmware parking sensors are gone completely.
edit: enabling "radar" is the solution
Installed supersu (like described in this thread) yesterday and updated it from the play store. Worked fine.
Then I installed Viper4android, also from the store. I didn't expect it to work, but it does! Driver installed, and after a reboot it does exactly what it's supposed to.
Also installed Nova Launcher and set as default home. No issues with that so far. I have not frozen or uninstalled any of the original launchers.
On my Joying unit 130N2 (8 inch unit for VW) the backlight on the display does not work when it is cold. We had minus 8 degrees centigrade here and it took more than 10 minutes before the backlight came on. The radio is playing music and it is actually possible to change channel as long as you know where to touch the monitor. Today it was 5 degrees and it took only about 3 seconds before the backlight came on. I wrote Joying about it and they confirmed to me that there was an issue with 8 inch models for VW. They told me that they were working on a completely new firmware that would fix the problem. I told them that to me it seemed to be a hardware problem and how they wanted to fix that with a software. Their answer of course "No worry my friend ......". I told them that I wanted to return the radio because a radio that doesn't work when it is cold is useless to me. They told me that I would have to send it to China so that their engineers could investigate the problem. I then told them that I had bought it from a German website and it was delivered to me from Germany so if their wanted it to be sent to China then they would have to pay me for it - in advance. They told me that their warehouse in Germany did not accept any returns so it was impossible for me to return it. Then I opened a case with Paypal for selling defective merchandise. Then suddenly their warehouse in Germany was accepting returns. I had put this text also on the Joying Forum, but of course they deleted it. So when dealing with Joying and in case you have problems my advice is to be very tough on them otherwise they will BS you.

I have the same problem on the same unit. With the car headlights off, backlight is dim when it's cold, but gets brighter when it has time to warm up. And when the headlights are on, the backlight isn't on at all until it warms up.
I thought about writing Joying about it but I expected the kind of response you got. Plus, I've had my unit for a few months already so a PayPal claim isn't an option. Please let us know if you hear anything else about it from Joying.
Hi Joshnat,
Yes we have the same problem. Sometimes I can get mine to light up by turning the headlights on and off a couple of times. Are you sure that you cant make a Paypal claim? As far as I know you have 180 days.
Anyway, you should write to them and let them know that you know that many others have this problem.
Regards
Kurt

You may have a faulty screen, my first one did something similar and wasn't very responsive to touches. I returned and my second unit was like night and day with how much better it looked and worked.
Has anyone got a factory backup camera to work? I have a 2015 Camry and right now I have the older Pumpkin rk3066 and the place that installed it hooked up the factory backup camera. I got my new Joying hu yesterday and am going to install tomorrow myself. I'm really hoping I can use my factory camera with this head unit also.

I have the same car and HU, my oem backup carmera works. I bought a harness on Amazon including backup camera, USB, and aux in.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BM3QGCO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Quick tip:
You can adjust backup camera brightness, saturation and contrast by touching the screen while backup camera is on.
Is there a trick to putting in the sd cards? Mine won't click in so it won't mount.
Edit: Forget it i just had to get the edge of a screwdriver and push it in. Had me worried for a minute.

Within the zip there is a file with instructions - HOWTO.txt
How-To install:
1. You need a Windows PC that is connected to the same WiFi network as your HU.
2. Unzip the attached file somewhere to your disk.
3. Run CMD.exe as Administrator
4. Change directory to the folder that you unzipped.
5. Run the install.bat script with an IP address of your HU as a parameter:
C:\Users\<username>\Downloads\Joying_JY-UL135N2_SuperSU> install.bat 192.168.123.137
6. Wait until script finishes and reboot your Head Unit.
7. DONE!
You should now have the SuperSU application working.

Help, Green screen on my Car Stereo - WinCE 6.0

Hi folks.
Firstly, please excuse me if this is not the correct forum for my query.
I recently purchased a used Ford Focus car, and it came with a stereo powered by WinCE 6.0. From what information i could gather, it seems to be a Chinese made car stereo. And i don't know who manufactured it.
Unfortunately, when i select SD card from the touch screen, the screen turns a green colour. If i am lucky, sometimes, the SD card plays my music. However, most of the time the screen is a green colour when i select the SD card. Everything else works fine, Radio, GPS, Bluetooth.
I have used three different SD cards and different music files, still the green screen appears when i select the SD card.
Anyway, I 'restored' the stereo through the settings, but this had no affect whatsoever. Also, i was prompted for a pin number to do a factory reset. The pin number i do not know. And i used a needle to reset through the pin hole.
Does anyone know where i can get firmware and how i can install it please?
Specification:
MCU/DVD/BT Ver: A4-USB131128 / 1014 / JQ_LM_505_2012_09_28_V01
System: Windows CE 6.0
App Ver: 20131205
Boot Ver: 014b0000
Flash size: 128M
OS Ver: A4-CZGB0-130823-01-CE6-V2.2.6
UUID: C7D0600C-DE3A-4113-5438-583042445F30
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
have you tried using a different card? if it still happens, i am afraid you may have to change a new headunit.
as these chinese "OEM"s are of no branding, there is little to no support for any firmware issues.

Don't think i can afford a new Stereo at the moment.
Besides, everything else on it - GPS/BT/Radio/Camera works perfectly, it is just the SD not playing music (50% of the time).
Do you know what the Factory pin/password/code may be??
Thanks for your reply though!

Update: New Joying Px5 head unit stuck on "download pending" from Play Store

Update: New Joying Px5 head unit stuck on "download pending" from Play Store
I have a brand new Joying Android 8.1 4GB RAM 64GB ROM 10.1 that reports itself as a px5.
this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L9SW4LH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Whenever I try to update or download apps from the Play Store I get stuck on "download pending" and it never goes further, even overnight.
I have cleared data, cache, powered up/down, reset, reset to factory, allowed all permissions I can find, etc. with no improvement. Can anyone suggest a fix? I am disappointed this is happening right from the box. The hardware looks great by the way. I can sideload apps fine but that is awkward.
Thanks,
Tim
Update: Joying sent me a firmware that will not install but the instructions were sketchy. From another thread, it seemed I should uncompress the .RAR; put it on a FAT32 microsd; plug it in the unit and it would automatically update. It would not update automatically nor manually. Sad.

Final: Joying was helpful but many of the answers looked like Google translate blurring the distinctions among USB #1, USB #2, microSD or SD slots; among RAR , zip and APK. In the end, the .IMG file was expecting to see a subdirectory named "demo" with some content and nothing else on a USB stick in the left USB slot. As helpful as Joying was trying to be, none of that was really described. I do appreciate that they very much kept trying until the issue was resolved.
But all is well now and the head unit is really nice.
I have exactly the same problem? Could you expand a little on your solution. They sent me a file as well, but it certainly doesn't auto update
I have the exact same problem, do you mind sharing the file with me?
This is more likely an Android (settings) issue..
There's a config option that stops downloads over "slow" networks (WiFi/3G/4G etc). Try turning on, or enable, downloads over slown networks and see if that helps.
One example to try: https://helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/how-to-resolve-the-play-store-download-pending-issue/
I have also found a lot of times the play store will hold up app updates ("Download pending") when it is updating any of the Google services or if the Play store app itself is being updated.
Also I agree with @FransUrbo. Plus trying a faster connection can get the download(s) to complete quicker.

Media storage got crazy on my old Android 6 Lenovo phone

I don't know what has happened to my old Lenovo Vibe X on Android 6.01 and how to resolve the issue without wiping data (no guarantee it would help - I'm now thinking...).
The phone is temporarily at my relative's disposal: i've switched to her Google account to let her use my old phone. She complained the call ring was very weak. I decided to change the ringtone, but I found out that I cannot do it anymore, the Media/Audio/Ringtones folder with standard OGG files is not visible (I cannot select ringtones from there anymore). "Other ringtones" option directs me to some installed Audio player, which does not allow to select any MP3 files in ANY folder (they cannot be played, because the player reports they are not added to Media storage). When I try to use "Scan media" option - it is just stuck. I've tried to use another programs like SD scanner, they either report Media database read error or finally report success status, however the audio files are still not playable.
I've tried to: clear caches (Android and Dalvik), disable / enable Media system app and delete its data.
I've also noticed that NOW my USB Audio player reports that HiRes DAC is not found (!) and does not want to play files in HiRes mode (through the chip instead of generic driver) - actually, my phone does have ES9018 DAC...
I am not sure this problem is related to Media storage, however all this together is very weird.
Any thoughts what could happen and what should I do?
How long was she using it and how good are her Android skills? May have caught a rootkit or virus. Anything below Android 9 is vulnerable to the Xhelper type rootkits that can worm their way out of the user partition. Real nasty critters...
If it just went nuts, I highly suspect malware especially in the hands of a novice user.

As @blackhawk wrote, the user may have infected the phone.
The only solution is to flash the phone manufacturer's stock ROM.
I will try to do this as soon as I get a chance, nowadays there is no other smartphone to use for my relative, so have to wait a couple of days.
BTW - regarding "HiRes DAC is not found" message... is there a chance that guys who replaced the battery in this smartphone soldered out ES9018 chip??

Likely a software, firmware or settings issue. Malware could also be the root cause for losing the high resolution DAC.
It's possible the tech damaged this circuit but probably not likely. Obviously if it was working before they got their paws on it then they are likely to blame.
