Is it possible to go back to previous MIUI Version without voiding warranty? If yes, how??
I updated my poco x3 yesterday to the latest miui (android 10 to 11) and it has a lot of annoying bugs such as unresponsive touch screen, apps automatically closing, faster battery drain and so on.
This has never happened to me when my phone was running in android 10.

This is possible by unlocking the bootloader.
Then you can install any version of MIUI or EU rom or AOSP.
About the warranty:
"Unlocking of the bootloader is made available to make sure that MIUI developer ROMs can be tested by users and will be covered under warranty. Bootloader unlocking does not inherently void your hardware warranty. But a case where the unlocking results in a brick which cannot be fixed via software, the warranty will be void.
According to the statement, bootloader unlock is made available for users to try MIUI developer ROMs. And thus, it will not void the warranty of any Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone. But if the device bricks after unlocking and could not be fixed via software, then the warranty will be void."

Hey,
i am currently evaluation whether the Xiaomi 9T Pro ist a suitable device for me. Even after reading the official thread, i have some questions left.
1. Is it possible to install the recovery and lineage os without root once the bootloader has been unlocked by xiaomi?
2. If the anser for 1. is no, can i revert the root after installing the os?
3. I didn't have a custom rom for some time. Back then i used to install cyanogen mod and it broke my samsung s2/s5 once every couple of updates. Do you still need to reinstall your os on a regular basis or is
lineage os stable enough to stay on the phone for the whole 2 year duration by now?
4. Would you recomment the phone for a stable approach?
I'm not sure if ARB protection is active as my friend wants to flash custom ROM. He's unfortunately on Android 11 so I can't risk his phone.
I've done it and nothing bad happened. Just had to format data afterwards to exit the bootloop. Went from V12.0.6.0.RJGEUXM (A11) to V12.0.7.0.QJGMIXM (A10) to be specific. The A11 one was missing a few switches in the settings menu that I use. I belive there's no Xiaomi ARB protection on POCO X3. You can also read this if you're not convinced yet.

I informed more yesterday about ARB and i thought that authorized account is something that only certified Xiaomi servicers could use. But that's not the case. Thanks for confirmation.
Did you flash a recovery / zip ROM or a fastboot one? A have just received an X3 NFC with Android 11 / MIUI 12.0.6 , and realized in 5 mins that Android 11 is not my cup of tea. It screws up my Nova + Fluid NG combo like hell - hate it.

My friend didn't flashed it yet as he has trouble with laptop recognizing Poco X3, hence no unlocked bootloader.

No worries, in the meantime flashed 12.0.8 using MiFlash - now everything runs fine.
Hi guys,
I have received the Android 11 update and I duly installed it. It is awful. I cannot use Fluid Navigation Gestyures anymore and I am unable to hide the NAVBAR.
The builtin Android gestures are awful, and they ONLY work with the default launcher, so they don't work with Nova Launcher
Right now I am stuck using Nova Launcher with three button navbar, and I hate it.
My phone is bootlocker is locked.
What are my options? I would really like to go back to the last stable Android 10 release for my Poxo X3 NFC Global unit which was Android 10 running on MIUI 12.0.9.0 I think it was.
Can someone give me some advice on what are my options, and most importantly, do I have any options where I DONT have to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery?
Thank you.

I suspect your only option is to unlock your bootloader. But if you want to return to MIUI with Android 10 you don't need to install a custom recovery. You simply need to flash the MIUI Fastboot Rom with Mi Flash, in fact you can relock your bootloader again while flashing MIUI roms.
Just be careful because you will receive update notifications again and maybe the update could be downloaded and installed again overnight depending on your configurations.
I have a Russian (thanks Amazon !!) Redmi 9a 32Gb/2gb. It is currently running latest 12.0.x ROM version, but i would like to upgrade it to 12.5.
I see on xiaomi ROM site there is currently a 12.5.x version for Russian version, but the OTA never arrived and if i download the recovery zip file and install it manually, it fails verification and stops.
Is there a way to install 12.5 without unlocking the bootloader ?
Is 12.5 supported on this specific redmi 9a ?
thanks !
mmm... spflashtool might work, but Ive only ever used it on a bircked device to unbrick it, never on a functional device to just change the ROM version, but if you really wanna do it without unlocking bootloader thats your best choice.
I will say anyway, its probably safer to unlock bootloader install recovery and install the rom from there, its your call tho.
Heres how I unbricked my device
[GUIDE] Unbrick hard-bricked device
Condition Phone does not turns on Phone not detected via USB Phone handshake/memory hash failed Requirements Unplug battery Download MIUI 12.5.4.0.RCDMIXM Fastboot ROM Download Scatter File for 12.5.4.0.RCDMIXM Download SP Flash Tool Download...

Right now I cannot unlock the bootloader, maybe in the next months I might try (I want to wait for the warranty to expire). My concern is that my version of Redmi 9A with just 2G of Ram is actually not compatible with MIUI 12.5. The 12.5 rom is actually available, but OTA will leave me in the 12.0 branch and verification fails if I try to install the ROM manually. I would not want to brick it by installing an unsupported ROM.
My phone model is M2006C3LG and the ROM I have right now says I have 1.8Gb of available RAM, I don't think you have a different device from mine.
Im a total n00b so I may be wrong about this next thing, but, I think the only difference is what version of MIUI they were sold with since the hardware doesn't allow downgrades further than the stock ROM that came with the device.
There is always antirollback after MIUI 10, but I think its even further locked for the original stock ROM that came to the device, but yeah, this is all my own speculation due to a bricking incident I faced.
The model number is the same, but the 9A was available with different sizes of RAM 2 or 3 or 4 Gb. Mine is the low end 32/2 which is the model still on sale today. If you still have 1.8 Gb of free RAM you very likely has the 3 or 4 GB model.
Maybe you are right, the OTA allows only for updates within the same MIUi version; I saw several guides on-line and i think i will try the miflash tool and switch to the global version. I have to find a way to unlock bootloader without Xiaomi account (no way in hell I'm signing up for that) and without sim card (this phone is used as a smaller wi-fi only tablet). There are some tools for an offline unlock, I will try those first.
It is incredible how Xiaomi is making it complex just to update to a stable official ROM; given also how much bloatware is shovelled with the stock ROM, I'm not sure I will ever consider Xiaomi again.

Thanks for the info. So you upgraded to latest 12.0 without moving to 12.5, any reason for not trying 12.5 ? The phone is currently barely usable with Android 10, maybe Android 11 is even heavier, but why not give it a try ?
I saw several youtube videos and guides and by using MI Flash with a Fastboot image (scattered tgz) it should be a total reflash of the phone.

Yes me too, that is why i am asking why the OTA isnt coming to our devices
Oh right
I think it's a bug or something. If you have previous than 13.0.10 versions software you can probably update directly. But if you have 13.0.10 you can't. You'd probably can update when there's an update who switches to the most recent security patches. You can't even force install via options not miflash not recovery flashable roms. I know cause i've tried that. Only way to do it is unlock bootloader, which is not adviced since you'll lose warranty. Anyway, only change i noticed is the toggles being a bit different. You just have the brightness and volume sliders vertically. Everything else looks the same to me. Of course you can always update with miflash and relock bootloader, but it's a risk. Either way you'll need to backup your data before doing it

Hi, same problem here.
I have version 13.0.10.0 with Android 11 and I am not receiving OTA updates.
Through recovery mode it doesn't let me update to version 13.0.2.0 or 13.0.3.0 with Android 12.
I tried everything but nothing.
How to do?
It's so crazy this phone is still on A11 lol..
