Ok, I am new to this forum so please excuse me if I posted this incorrectly or if there might be another thread similar! (I tired searching but could not find anything so please don't scorn me )
So this is my problem...
I have the Moto G 2013 Verizon Non-Dev (XT1028) that I am sick and tired of seeing "lollipop will be coming soon!" But it being a non-dev edition it does not qualify for Motorola's Official Bootloader Unlock. I searched everywhere on YouTube (yeah, yeah, not the reliable...) and Google on how to root and bootloader unlock but none of those things have helped me. Let me cut to the chase!
Basically I am on 4.4.4
~~~Rooting~~~
It requires my bootloader to be unlocked
~~~Unlocking Bootloader (unofficially)~~~
Using Sunshine~
"Your device has to be rooted in order to check for compatibility. " (not the exact message but the gist is I cant unlock because I don't have root)
So with those two being in mind are there anyways to bypass one or the other? I'm stuck in an infinite loop between being able to root requires a bootloader unlock and the bootloader unlock requires a root to do... Any known ways to root 4.4.4 without bootloader unlock OR unlock my bootloader officially or unofficially?
P.S. This is my first post as well so I'm not sure if my random babbling helped explain so if any information is needed I can try to provide it! Thanks for any help and suggestions
Hello there,
I am wanting to use Google pay with my S8 plus Exynos variant, but I have rooted my device before and now I have updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. I have downloaded the updated through SamMobile and now I get the message: Google Pay can't be used on this device. This may be because your device is rooted, has an unlocked bootloader or is running a custom ROM. As a result, Google can't confirm that your device meets Google pay's security standards. I've always loved Google Pay, so I've been doing a lot of research to try to figure this out, but so far I've come up empty. Does anyone know how to get a locked bootloader or can someone help guide me through the rooting process so I can use Google Pay again as it seemed to work when my phone was rooted on 7.1 nougat?
A little late here but If the device was rooted before then you unlocked the bootloader I assume which Google Pay needs to be locked to meet the security measures you mentioned. Re-lock bootloader and go back to stock firmware through Odin to gain Google Pay back.
Is it possible to root this device, I was following a thread earlier but couldn't get OEM unlock option to show in developer options.
I was using this as a guide, but don't want to continue if it will just brick my phone.

Or perhaps a different forum on the internet where they can be hired?
I need this done for work, so it's really important to me. After a day of research and working with my A125U, it's clear that A125U isn't bootloader unlockable by known methods.

Unfortunately the SM-S908U1 cannot have its bootloader unlocked normally. Unless there's some other method or exploit, it will be locked forever.
There is an exploit out there. It has been in the news lately. It is whether or not it actually ever makes it to anyone that can use it to root our devices. But it does work for the s22. Here is an article about it.

Hope this comes to us, I feel like I just wasted money twice... I also have sm-n986u from ATT... Can't unlock that bootloader either for root
Only Exynos and a couple of Snapdragon variants offer bootloaders which can be unlocked. A little research goes a long way.

I did my research before I got the phone... and even on this site had a method for my snapdragon model
This is the link on XDA for root on the S22:Ultra. Only models ending with B, E, N and 0 are compatible but don't give up hope, XDA has some world class developers who might offer a workaround.

Your warranty is now void. If you root your device, Your KNOX status will be tripped. You can still pass the safety net after you root if you follow the instructions. Sorry for USA models, you can't root unless you can unlock your bootloader You...

for now, I'll disable my software updates for android and wait lol.... Root became available for my note 20 ultra after some time, but I had already installed a later version that was patched....
That’s why I ended up spending the money to buy the international version rather than the US\Canada versions knowing that there is a lot of network incompatibilities. I need the bootloader to unlock and root.

This looks very promising... Should be able to transfer root files even without trippin knox? Seem like that concept would fix the issue...
Same case here as OP. Hoping a workaround comes up!
Ditto, here. I'll keep checking back. My 3T was un-rooted for a while, until the ads started getting worse... Gonna really miss AdAway and Vanced.
Still no bootloader unlock for a SM-S908U1? Its time for me to start writing kernels again!!! Tired of no customization and bad battery.

wr3cckl3ss1So no OEM toggle for Google Pixel 7 Pro on VZW yet either? Was actually thinking about getting one to horse around with, but I guess not.

How are you disabling updates? My att 908U just randomly updates without me allowing it. Really annoying. It does it when and where it wants to. I don't like them having such control over my phone.
