Hello, I have a Winca S160 Rockchip rk3188 radio with android version 4.4. The radio started to work terribly slow due to the lack of android update. Is it possible to update the android somehow to a newer one?
I don't think an upgrade will make it speedier: consider to reset phone to factory defaults.
Hi,
Which Model and Version do you have now? Model? Build? MCU?
Easiest way is to post a photo of your About Device screen which is at the bottom of the Settings Menu
If you cannot get to the Device screen, can you post a photo of the barcode label on the back of the radio or on the box it came in?
I don't want you to install the wrong firmware.
You can go to your settings menu and clear all cache and downloads and other memory hogging apps. This will make you unit run a bit faster.
Regards, Leigh.

So I updated my Samsung Focus to Mango, now the office hub won't open. It will flash white, then just go back to the home or app screen. Now it still does the app opening animation, but won't even flash the white/black screen anymore. Here is what i have done:
Turn the phone off and on about a million times.
Reset the office app in settings.
Doing both at the same time.
It's just stock Mango. I am out of ideas. It won't start at all. Maybe there is something wrong with the shortcut? Is there anyway to test that? Is there anyway to reinstall Mango? I am so confused.
Some info
Samsung SGH-i917
OS Version: 7.10.7720.68
firmware revision number: 2103.11.8.1
Hardware revision number:3.1.0.7
Bootloader version: 5.8.0.2
Any help, or hint, or suggestion will be much appreciated. Thanks.
Best way to re-install Mango is to roll back to NoDo using the restore point that Zune creates at the beginning up the update process. You can start the restore process by connecting the phone to the Zune software, and going to Settings -> Phone -> Update (in Zune).
So I used the disconnect internet trick and got Tango to install on my phone. Problem is, it stopped with the 3 updates and did not install (or find) the Samsung one that I know was supposed to be installed (for firmware), so my firmware is now 2103.11.10.1 instead of what it is supposed to be.
Does anyone know a way to force the OEM firmware to be sent to Zune. The internet disconnect trick isn't work now, so I'm stuck. Also, my backups aren't showing up, even though during the update process it said it was creating a backup (for all the OS updates it installed all the way up to 8773).
If there is no way to get the OEM firmware to be pushed, does anyone know how to get the Focus Flash to stock? I know I have a backup on my computer, but Zune isn't recognizing it (I had forced 8107 on my phone, and Zune made a backup of that ROM).
I just updated to Tango using the cab sender on my Focus Flash. Everything worked fine. My firmware ver. is the same as yours. It has been that rev since as far as i can remember. I don't think there is a firmware newer than that for the Focus Flash.
Firmware is 2103.11.10.1
OS ver is 7.10.8773.98

Someone at wpcentral posted this for their Focus Flash:
Look like Firmware Update, Radio Software, BootLoader
Firmware Revision 2103.12.05.04
Hardware Revision Number 23.1.0.8
Radio Software Version: 2103.12.5.4
Radio Hardware Version: 0.0.0.6
BootLoader Version 6.5.17.0
Chip SOC Version 0.74.21.1
So there must be one out there (plus, everyone else has been receiving firmware updates, like Nokia, so I can't see Samsung not making one).
Since you used the debrand trick to update to 8107, you'll most likely have to reset your phone to get the Samsung update. I did the same thing & then did the cab send method to update to 8773. Didn't have any problems. Kept trying to get the Samsung update via the disconnect trick. No luck. As soon as I reset my phone, it popped right up. I'm installing it now. Good luck.

Hi,
In recovering from a brick, I had to install new firmware on my tablet. The firmware was for a different device, but still runs on my tablet. Since I installed this firmware, the system cannot connect to either camera when I try to use the camera app. I assume this is because the firmware is configured for a different camera setup.
My tablet is a no name Chinese made tablet. It is Allwinner A33 based (I opened it up to check). The current firmware is running KitKat. I have root access.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
Hey,
is there no possibility to reflash the old firmware again? Or to recover it?
If not, I would suggest you to try other firmwares with other camera setup till you find a working one...
Hello!
I recently purchased a Mate 9 through an operator that sells unlocked phones in my country.
The firmware version on the phone currently is MHA-L09C106B120 which is pretty old, but the software update section of the settings menu says there aren't any updates available.
I found a newer version MHA-L09C106B160 on this site: http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=mha
Question: seeing as how the newer firmware refers to apparently my same localized version of the phone (L09C106), can I force it to update to it somehow, without rooting or unlocking bootloader? Additionally, is there anyway to do this without an external sdcard? (I currently have one on order but it will take many days to get here)
Thanks!
Not necessary in the update. In my case under the overflow menu you will see download option if this is a full rom.
Hi, thanks! Sorry I'm a bit lost here. The overflow menu of what app?
Also in the site I mentioned, the new firmware is listed as OTA, not full. Does that mean I can't update to it?
Thanks again
You could update it, I can imagine by the number of cust es of the Costa Rica ice.

Thanks. I ended up rebranding to C636 to get newer updates.
Hello,
about two years ago I purchased myself a nice head unit for my BMW (PX5) and it has been working nice since then, but it's on Android 9 and Google Maps won't update on my unit anymore, even though the maps themselves are being updated no problem. I fear that there will be no more updates for my apps if I won't do something about it and replacing the head unit is out of the question. I'd like to know how to upgrade my unit to newer Android version and if it's even possible. Disclaimer - I've never done that before so I'd like to do it as safely as possible so I won't accidentaly brick it because of a wrong software or something
The specs listed in the device are as follows:
Android version: 9
Compilation number: rk3358-userdebug 9 PQ2A. 190305.002 20190612.101357 test-keys
Kernel version: 4.4.167
MCU version: MTCE_CHS_V3.02_1
Also, there are MCU update and device update buttons in the settings, but the device won't do anything when I press the device update button and MCU update one tells me that there is no MCU file. What is this?
