(obviously only Android - Iphone Users don't have much advanced control over their phonse..)
Because for Example Galaxy S21 isn't rootable (yet?) - I mostly used rooted (&optimized) Samsung Smartphones (now still having the S10)
Wich one you would recommend these Days?
Because I never want to use a Smartphone, wich lags root possibillities (without it is too insecure, too many ads, too many ****/spy apps etc etc)
Probably you are also looking for one, so we would be happy to share our Knowledge.
My Candicate for now:
Galaxy S21 Ultra

See you:
It seems, there aren't many users watching this.
I think many would be interested, but I also know, that many pro users are only interested in their smartphones forums, not this one.
However when you have an better Idea, please let me know.
not sure that package falls entirely in one phone. OnePlus lots of roms but cameras... Pixels maybe, but it's not top tier SoCs. I think Samsung is doing everything it can to block unlock but it still be done on non updated phones. GSIs might be the future of decent roms for many.
if Samsung release the rumoured S21FE it might be a snapdragon that's unlockable on international versions.
For me, I vote Pixel #1 and OnePlus #2. I won't buy anything else! I've owned everything at one time or another but these devices use custom AOSP roms as if they were born with them. Current using Pixel 4XL stock rom August 2021 build along with few magisk mods and Sultan kernel. I couldn't ask for a better experience really!!

According to latest rumors, Motorola is preparing new model currently known as X Phone. For the first time we should see edge-to-edge FullHD screen on smartphone. From designers perspective I took liberty to implement some elements that could be useful, but in same recognizable in Motorola line-up. Phone should run on latest stock Android OS.

I quite like it! But, I'm never certain how the technology will allow for detection of erroneous touches - seems like that's the biggest problem with edge-to-edge

If you have bought one of these tabs and are as unhappy about it as I was then read on.
THESE ARE IN NO WAY 'FLYTOUCH 10' MODELS!
I know what it says in the about page but anyone can spoof a model name in build.prop. These are in fact SuperPad 10s http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/10-RK3188-quad-core-android-4_1622115746.html Look familiar?
TabTronics lie about the spec of these devices (NO GPS and only 1.4ghz NOT 1.6)! I got mine for free because they wanted me to keep my mouth shut about their false advertising. Just shows how dodgy some people can be.
Anyway, I now have a FREE rk3188 tab to play with. First off spec. The parts inside this tab seem to be a mix of rk3066 and rk3188 gear (Notice the Flytouch 9 is the same form factor and an rk3066?).
Ive seen 2 versions of this firmware now. the one it came with (which was a mix of an M8Pro and a TV stick firmware) and the one on their site (the better one).
Ive built a basic version of the firmware on the site and it runs well!
spec:
2Gb Internal storage (More games/apps) at the cost of external storage (12Gb Free)
De-Bloated
De-Odexed
init.d support
CWM Touch Recovery v6.0.3
Cant remember if its fully rooted but I can show you how if it isnt
Antutu score is around 18k depending on what im doing. Boot time seems to get longer and longer, not sure if its the apps im running or an issue with the firmware (more testing needed). I usually get above the Samsung S3 so that keeps me happy
I fully intend to develop this rom and maybe at some point expand it to other platforms. If anyone is interested in helping me with this project then please pm me
Anyway, here is the link, use batchtool and do a restore (may need to format the internal card on first boot), takes about 10 mins to do the initial setup so dont worry, it hasnt stalled
DOWNLOAD
I hope this helps someone somewhere get the best out of this device. Feel free to comment, good or bad
Cass
First off, this is by no means "a thing" as im looking for people who understand, support and might help me with this idea
"The Struggle is real"
for me choosing my next android device is a pretty hard effort as im getting disappointed by various points:
-illogical choices of design: even if i find a decent device to consider as my next one, there is always something that will make no sense to me and bug me, but only after i have purchased that device
-poor development due to unavailable sources: a major requirement when i choose an android device is that it has good dev support and my previous devices have proven this point to an extend, where a nice new android version comes out and the oem no longer supports it: the new version can be ported, but some things that were closed source only work properly in stock roms (which mostly suck)
-ridiculous oem pricing and their visionary software addons:
every device by big oems is overpriced and is bloated and promoted with things that often are not unique at all and can easily be used on every phone
of course the price depends on a lot of factors but in my opinion every oem device can easily be a 100 euros cheaper while still being profitable, as small
oems easily show
"The perfect android smartphone?"
-"supersize my phone, please":
of course also size is a debatable aspect of a phone as some prefer size while others prefer compactness
i prefer efficiency and for me that means a device that can easily be used with one hand, fit in my pocket and
does not waste a lot of surface not covered by screen
-"whith a small phone comes small hardware"
every oem releases a mini version of their newest flagship, but that mini version has exactly nothing to do with its big brother
there are examples where this might not be the case(xperia z1 compact), but then, there are other aspects that make that phone inconsiderable
There cannot be a device that is perfect for every user, but i think that most users can agree on a large amount of aspects that fit their needs, especially if they are powerusers
Conclusion: i would like to collaborate with people that have the knowledge of building distributing and supporting a project based on my idea: the devPhone:

Anybody heard of this new phone to be released in August? Just asking because I would like more details on it. Such as hardware details, OS details etc. And the possibility that the bootloader is unlocked and maybe someone is already working on root method?

Thank you for the information but I think we may be talking about 2 different organizations. The link you provided is .net and the one I posted is .com. Not only that but the freedom phone from your post has graphene OS while the one from my link uses freedom OS.

I saw that on the NTD channel on YouTube (it's a conservative news channel that YT would never recommend)
https://www.youtube.com/c/ntdtv/videos
They were saying that the Freedom Phone is a plan by a guy who become a millionaire by his age of 18, because he invested in Bitcoin. So, a prejudice warning right there.
Next, they said that his main concern was that it is hard to source the hardware (really?), because the big names in cell phone business do dominate the industry, while none of them interested in privacy. (True).
So, he had figured out how to get the hardware and his new freedom phone is flying off the shelves, because it is a revolutionary new concept where the phone has his own store and doesn't allow the network location scanning and so on, so basically it is a de-googled phone.

Conservatives are touting this phone to be patriotic, etc... but there are articles claiming its a cheap chinese knockoff with huge security issues, likely built in to the phone at the request of the NSA for snooping purposes.
Installing it now...

Pretty useless if you do not own one of these flagship models I'd say...
This update just popped up on mine today and I applied it (it zapped 5% of my fully-charged watch that was still on the charger the whole time!) Then the Wearable app wanted updating on the phone, so I did that as well. Seemed to work OK so far.

Yep. Fewer and fewer people care about "flagship" models. I bought an A52 5G and ended up with a very fast phone, SD card, several capable cameras, real headset jack, OLED screen, and in-screen fingerprint sensor for under $400 (a little more than a year ago). Or I could have spent, what, DOUBLE for a "flagship" with a little better CPU, case, and camera, while losing the headset jack I use all the time? No thanks.
I own the same smartphone A52s and exactly for the same reason.
Did you find a way to use the Camera Control (samsung official app) on our A52s?
I have updated the watch and now the back button doesn't work...
Am I the only one with this issue?
EDIT: ok, after a watch reset and restore it works again...
Finally rolling out for the my R890 in Denmark

I didn't and it sucks. I have to use third-party one (only camera one actually works for me), which lacks in picture quality.
