EDIT: THE PHONE IS DEAD. THANKS ONEPLUS.
I have one plus 7 pro 5g (sprint ). The phone worked perfectly on my commute home and I placed it down on my bed with ~80% battery left. After 4/5 hours later I pick it back up and it does nothing. It just completely dead. It does nothing.
The screen won't turn on, there are no signs of life at all. I then tried to hold the power button for 10 seconds. Nothing. 20 seconds. Still nothing. A full minute, nothing at all.
Connect to charger = nothing
Power + volume down = nothing (I wasn't holding this combination long enough!)
Power + volume up = nothing
Power + up + down = nothing
Power button for 20 seconds x 5 = nothing
This is pretty troubling. Is there something I may have missed? It seems odd that the phone would just suddenly die like this.

Try holding it longer, or try all buttons vol+ & - & pwr. Should get you into fastboot. You can reboot from there.
nothing happens . try all of that.

Same issue happened to me, tried everything by flashing ROM. Not worked. Even service center guys not able to flash software. Now they took my piece for seven days to inpect on hardware damages. Why need to go for this brand if it will loss its own internally.

Hi I'm trying to figure out why my phone cuts off for some odd reason. Today I pulled my phone out my pocket and hit the power button to wake my phone but it did absolutely nothing. I had just takin my phone off the charger 3 hours before & had not used it all day (i was at work)...so I know it wasn't dead. I tried holding down the power button & the vol down and no luck as well. I pluged it to my HTC charger (6 hours later when I got off work) & it didn't do anything until I held the power button & vol down button and got into bootloader and was able to reboot the phone. Can anybody tell me why it does that?

My G2 stopped working last Friday. Just went completely dead. I text my wife, put the phone in my pocket and 10 mins later I checked and I got no lights, no power or anything. Phone was rooted, but ran stock and twrp. I left it on charge and went camping. Last night, I decided to fool around with it a bit. I was able to get the LG logo to come up when doing a reset (power + vol. down) but then it went dead again. I plugged it in and waited a few hours and did the reset combo again and was able to get as far as the led light changing colors, and the ATT logo and jingle once, but since, I haven't even been able to get the LG logo to appear again. Is this indicative of a dead battery? Is it possibly something else?
I read this in a forum after I had a similar problem. While it sounds ridiculous, it's worth a shot. It worked for me. Hold your power button for over 60 seconds. Sounds excesive, but works.
I thought I had a brick and that did the trick for me.
For what I read in here. seems like A LOT of LG G2 D800 are dying for no good reason.
I have had this happen on 2 lg g2 d800 in the last 2 months. I am extremely careful about the phone and it just died while still having about 80% charge. No lights of any kind or response of any kind. I have tried power button + vol down, power button + vol up, hold power button for 15 sec. plus a ton of other things. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I bought my Zenfone 2 about 3 months ago and it had been working perfectly fine. However, on the day before yesterday the phone appeared to lag more than it usually does but I didn't pay much attention to it. Later in the evening I noticed that the battery was not reducing and it remained constantly at 50%, despite me having watched at least an hour of youtube on it.
Later, when I was watching some videos online, the phone suddenly turned off - I thought that was because I had used up all the battery, so I plugged it into the main using the original cable and charger, but the phone would not charge and the little light on the top right of the phone never came on. I could not turn on my phone and all the phone would do was buzzes every few minutes. So since then, I have kept the phone connected to the charger (and it carried on to buzz twice every few minutes). I tried to turn the phone on yesterday morning by long pressing the button on the top of the phone but it would again not turn on at all.
When the phone is being charged, it buzzes every 1 and a half minute regardless of which charger or cable I'm using, and when the phone is not being charged, it doesn't buzz
Someone tried to help and suggested me to do the 3 following things:
1) Hold the power button for 15 minutes then let go and press for another few secs to try to turn the phone on - I did this, and the phone did buzz when i tried to turn it on, but the screen is still off, as well as the small light on the top right
2) hold the volume up + power button for 5 seconds, then release volume up before releasing power button - my phone buzzed after holding both volume up + power button for a few seconds, but still the screen did not come on and neither did the small light.
3) hold the volume down + power button for 5 seconds, then release volume down before releasing power button - nothing happened. The phone didn't even buzz.
I don't really understand why I was asked to do them, but i did them anyway
I am currently in the UK and I bought my phone from abroad so I cannot get a warranty fix in the UK.
Please kindly help if you know the the problem is and please give me some advice.
Much appreciated. Thank you.

E6683 (import from Hong Kong)
Had it for about 4 months.
Battery was on about 96%.
Then I decided to try a different ROM (was trying MWA 2.0) so I powered it off and that was the last of it.
What I have tried:
-power + vol up (for 2 minutes)
-power + vol down for 30 seconds
-power + vol up and down for about 30 seconds
-vol down + usb
-vol up + usb
-the reset button next to the SIM for 5 seconds
None of this works - it is totally dead. I've read that the sudden death on Xperias is a known issue thought I've never experienced it myself. Do I now have a brick?
When you power on, does the sony logo come or not?
Power on? LOL. That would be nice!
No, when I say it is "dead" I mean no vibration, no lights - nothing. What I'm struggling with is whybis happened so suddenly. Literally powered it off as I have done a million times and it just never came back on.

oops...... looks like your emmc is fried... throw it under your bed for two days, then press all four buttons (cam + volup + voldown + power) + the poweroff button in your simslot for a minute or so (donot remember exact time) and after that attach usb. It might start (i.e. start charging and the led lights up) but I am afraid it will not... I just had that a while ago and I had to have my mobo replaced. Which kernel is used by that rom?

Cheers m8 for your help - really appreciate it.
Kernel was Z5-DSDS_Sunkernel_Permissive_v253_corona_III.1_9_4_2_sum_dual.zip (I've not had any issues with Zach's kernels before. Could it really be the kernel?)
Anyway, I will ignore it for a few days the then try the "press every button" trick. If it is fried, I will probably put it on Ebay as Dead / For Parts. Someone might be interested in popping in a new mobo!
So in such conditions... Have you tried fastboot?
For me, inspite of it not working or turning on or anything holding the volume up and connecting it to the computer got the blue fastboot led

MAJOR PROPS to YOU! Thank you!
I left it unplugged for a whole week. Then I pressed power + vol up + vol down + camera for 2 minutes. The I plugged it in and BINGO - a red charge light.
I've since gone back to 253 stock (Singapore) as that was my trusty ROM. But at least I now have a phone again!

Hey guys,
Something odd happened this morning and now I am sitting around with a $700 paperweight. Woke up and took the phone off of charge like I usually do and started to read the news. about 10 minutes in the screen and touch buttons froze so I decided to reboot the phone, To my surprise the phone never came back on.
I've tried VOL Down + Power for 30 seconds even longer out of desperation along with just the power button and VOL Up + power to no avail, The phone is dead, Simply dead. I just wanted to reach out to the community to see if I am just one of the lucky ones or if anyone else has had this happen to them?

I don't know which variant you have but look for the MSM download tool thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/msm-tool-guac-t3934691
Have you tried volume up and volume down while you press the power button? Release only the power button when you feel a vibration. I got mine stuck with a black screen while I was tinkering. I know it's a different situation, but it's worth a shot. If it works, you'll end up in bootloader mode. Just use the volume keys to select reboot, and tap the power button to select it.
