Question How to flash stock firmware? - Samsung Galaxy A12

Can anyone help me out, i need to flash back the original official stock firmware for my A12 and i don't know how to. Can someone guide me?

First, you need to download your firmware from Sammobile or using Frija with your specific model, then you have to get an up to date Odin version...
When you allready have those follow this steps:
1) Place all you files in order to make easy for you to find them with Odin (Decompressing your firmware you will have 5 files, the AP, BL, etc...).
2) Turn off your phone and then pushing Vol+ and Vol- connect you type-C cable, then with Vol+ you will enter in Download mode.
3) Open Odin and connect your phone, you will see that the program will detect your device.
4) In the right, place the firmware files in order to use the AP, BL, CP and CSC files (You will see that in Odin theres the specific spot for those files like the "AP" button and here is where AP file goes). You dont need to use the HOME_CSC file.
5) Make sure that in the "Options" tab theres only two items checked (Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time) and then you can clic on Start button and make it happen. You will see "DONE!" in green color after a few minutes.
Make sure you follow these steps right and will be ok!
If you are not sure about doing this I recommend you to search some tutorials, theres a lot of them... And Im not responsable for you to doing it wrong.

[Q] unrooting Nexus s 2.3.4 to factory setting

Hello everyone,
I just bought nexus s here in canada unlocked from craiglist. The phone came rooted. I am complete noob with android and just starting learn the whole game. So i wanted to set this phone factory setting and learn everything from scratch. (i.e. rooting it myself and all that). Also my auto-rotate feature does not work at the moment, and up on reading through google, I figured that resetting to factory setting will solve it. Anyway, the phone is running android 2.3.4, baseband is I9020XXKD1 and kernel is 2.6.35.7-ge382d80 and build is GRJ22. I found the following guide here on XDA. I want to make sure if my specs are okay to use the following guide. Like i said i am complete new to android and still trying to hang of things and I donno how the phone was orignially rooted. Maybe this might help. my phone has application Reboot tool, ROM Manager, Superuser.. So i want someone to confirm that following guide would be okay to use to reset to factory setting or please hint me something.. I am finding it hard to follow a guide since I don't know how the phone was originally rooted. Sorry for making this insanely long and thanks in advance.
UNROOTING.........
Get files (can't post the link since i am new user but its 4shared links found in this forum)
-download and extract files, we will be using odin, the 3 tar files.
-extract tar files to desktop along with odin.
-run odin and in the files section select the boxes bootloader, pda, phone.
-click the buttons next to each and direct it to the .tar files we extracted to desktop, so....
click the bootloader box, direct it to sph-d720-bootloader.tar ...then..
click the pda button direct it toward the sph-d720-pda.tar....then..
click the phone button and direct it toward sph-d720-phone.tar....
-now turn off your phone, when off hold volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously, then quickly press the power button....a huge yellow triangle will pop up and say "downloading'.......
plug your phone via usb to computer....odin should automatically see it.....click the start button in odin and let it do its thing and bam...all set.
If you want stock recovery too place the recovery.img in tools folder, open command prompt..type the following command..
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Done.

<GUIDE><TOOLS> Verizon S6 Stock Restore Files<ODIN><SmartSwitch>
I will not be updating this thread any further. I no longer own the device.
Here is a link to the stock Verizon tar file to flash in download mode via Odin. I will add more files as they become available. Use this to return to factory stock if a factory reset dose not solve any problems you may have with your retail Verizon S6. If you find these files useful and download them please hit the thanks button. Do not copy these files and repost them, make a link to this thread instead. If I missed anything in the instructions please let me know and I will update the OP. Thanks and enjoy.
Install Instructions1: Download Odin and Verizon S6 Retail Tar from the links below. Then extract the Odin.zip file ..
2: Run Odin and pick the AP button then navigate to where you saved the file you want to flash and chose that file. Let Odin verify the file.
3: Turn off your phone and enter download mode by holding the home, volume down and the power buttons until the enter download mode screen appears. Then enter download mode by letting go of the buttons and then press the volume up key.
4: Now you should be in download mode, connect your phone to your PC now. Odin should say connected in the message box, if not you need to install your Samsung phone drivers.
5: After connecting your phone and loading the tar file select the Start button and let Odin do it's job. This will take about 5 to to 10 minutes to complete. Please be patient and do not disconnect your phone until the phone reboots and the word Pass appears in the upper left corner of Odin.
6: That's it, you should now be in the phone setup screen with the words Pass in Odin if all went well.
If you get stuck in a bootloop after flashing a tar file don't panic. Enter the maintenance menu by holding the volume down, home and power keys for about 10 seconds. Then clear cache and factory data reset.
Firmware Flashing
1: Using flashfire wipe and then flash the ROM you are switching to that is of a different build. OE2 to OC3 for an example. You wikll most likely get stuck at the Samsung lockscreen when the phone reboots.
2: Don't panic just reboot into download mode and flash the proper firmware with Odin by holding down the home, volume down and power buttons for about 10 seconds. Select reboot and use the same button combo to enter download mode.

Is it possible to remove bloatware via this? May be a stupid question but I recall in the past of people having modded restore files such as this which did not contain bloatware or for instance even contained root. Possibilities of this? Also thanks for the thread!

No, we can not do that without root. If the stock image is modified in any way it breaks the signature and fails to boot. Thank the locked bootloader and Verizon for that but we can disable the apps witch is nearly as good.

Just curious... Would it be possible to grab only the csc folder from this? Interested in making some comparisons versus other variants.

Yes, you just need to build a ROM with Kitchen and you will have the csc folder after you do that.

If you haven't grabbed the CSC folder I can get it for you. I have my Linux drive set back up.

If it's not too much trouble that would be great. I haven't downloaded it yet -- we have data caps up here and I've used quite a bit this month. Hesitant to download a couple gigs just for a few kb!

Good to see you around too. I got the g920v. I ditched my DevEd Note 4 for the rootless S6 because I like it that much. The hardware is pretty amazing. Plus I wanted to step away from ROM building for a while with all that has been going on with life. It's way too time consuming. I will probably get back into it some day but for now these tar threads are a good way for me to give back to the community.

GUIDE: How to downgrade from Lollipop to KitKat 4.4.2

I had a problem where my Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337M) was stuck in a boot loop because of the Lollipop 5.0.1 update. I tried everything from going into recovery mode and factory resetting it to doing the smack method on it. Then I found this way by flashing the Android Kitkat 4.4.2 ROM back into my phone via Odin. Here are the steps to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.2:
NOTE: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. please proceed if you know what you are doing.
Before you start:
Turn on USB debugging by going to Settings>More>Developer Options. (If you don't have developer options, go to Settings>More>About device and press the build number 5-10 times and developer mode will be enabled)
Make sure battery is charged at least 50%
Backup everything if you can or make sure you have a backup already done.
Have your phone plugged into the computer
After you done those things, you ready to begin. Here is what to do:
1. Download Odin v3.09. You can download it by copy and pasting the link. odindownload.com/
2. Download the firmware for your phone. Go to sammobile.com (You will have to create a free account first) and look up your model. (For Example: you will search SGH-I337M if you have a Canadian Galaxy S4). The Model info should be behind the battery. If you don’t know or can’t find it, comment below and I will find it for you. Make sure you have the right carrier as well if it says so.
NOTE: Downloading the firmware may take a while if you have a slow internet connection. If you have a slow internet connection, make sure your computer doesn't sleep overnight while its downloading.
3. Extract both files to your computer.
4. Open Odin v3.09
5. On your Galaxy S4, Turn off your device. When its shut off, press the Power>Hone, and VOLUME DOWN key at the same time. You will see this pop up. (Image called 5-custom-os-warning.jpg. Click file for picture if you don't understand)
You will press volume up. Then you will see this. (Image called 4-downloading.jpg . Click file for picture if you don't understand)
DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PHONE WHEN THIS SHOWS UP!
5. Open Odin v3.09. Click the AP Button.
(Image called Odin-3.09.jpg . Click file for picture if you don't understand)
6. Look for the firmware you downloaded and click open. You will have to wait a bit until the firmware is in Odin. You will know when its finished when you see the file name in the AP box.
7. Click START. You will have to wait as the process takes 5-10 minutes. The phone will reboot once or twice. then the welcome screen should pop up. and you are DONE. You have successful downloaded Android KitKat 4.4.2.
Enjoy!

Does this same procedure work for downgrading to JellyBean MDJ firmware? Or can Lollipop only be downgraded to Kitkat?
Thanks.
Brother my 9505 have custom lollipop now.can I this process for back to kk?or its for only stock lollipop to kk?
yes, it can also be downgraded to MDJ firmware... I just tried yesterday. However, WiFi and phone call are not working. I then flashed to 4.4.2 and works perfectly since then.
HI, is not neccesary to install BL and PDA? Only AP? Thanks !!!
Is this working on SHV-E330L?

920F Wont turn on / Odin Mode Only After Installing Custom.Zip boot logo

Please can anyone give some suggestions to my problem. I had installed the custom lineage 14.1 without issue, the phone was rooted using supersu and worked perfectly.
I then thought it would be nice to change the boot logo from the stock one to a custom one. I first used the aroma installer and picked a GOT character from the option list, this worked perfectly too.
It was not until I decided to go one step further and make my own custom boot logo. I following the steps shown here (except the file size, mine was 1.44mb) androidfilehost . com / ?fid=889764386195903235
I flashed the custom.zip with Twrp and when the phone rebooted I got a checkered image and a error message then the phone when black.
Now, the phone will only boot into Odin/Download mode and I have tried to flash the stock bootloader and stock OS from sam mobile with Odin, the install seem work whilst on Odin, but when the phone is rebooted I only get the black screen.
I've looked at loads of posts and I think either the battery is screwed or for some reason the stock Os is not being written to the phone correctly.
Any help, would be amazing. Thanks in advance.

Its a Samsung S6 SM-920F. I think its a battery problem. Do you know whether Odin mode only uses very little battery consumption, hence after I flashed the stock rom it does not have enough battery to boot normally?
Please help, it's driving me mad and swapping the battery looks like a mission of a job....

S8+ Stuck on boot loop

I can’t seem to fix my s8+ when I try to Flash anything in Odin I keep getting complete (write) failed. When flashing stock firmware I keep getting (...) Fused 2 > Binary 1
Or it will fail to erase
I cannot boot into recovery at all - freezes/won’t even boot there
Normal boot or safe boot doesn’t matter either sends me to the blue screen where it loops either Erase or apply update and then about 5-10 lines of code then reboots.
BTW it’s the SM-G955U1 model unlocked
If someone would link me to the latest firmware that may help. If the latest Oreo beta just to get out of this mess that would also be appreciated too.
Also when I open up smart switch it says the device is incompatible with it.
I will edit with video of the issue
Edit:
well i got it up and running, i guess it came down to the BL being Ver2 and because of that it would prevent me from installing anything that ran on V1/rev1.
well now a new issue has popped up... No service.... Prob because its using 955u firmware and im not using the main verizon carrier -- im using flash wireless...
my phone and pc recognize my phone as a 955u device .
is there any way for me to go back to 955u1 firmware? Please help.
will i be able to switch when samsund decides to release the oreo for the 955u1?
Thanks
Fixed finally
For all of you out there who happened to get stuck on 955u firmware containing bootloader 2 installed on the 955u1, there is hope!
I have successfully gotten back to 955u1 firmware and running OREO.
You will need (I will give Links to files in a post to follow) (Carrier in BL says XAA):
USB 2.0 PORT
PRINCECOMSEY ODIN 3.12... link
regular ODIN 3.13.1 (what i used) link
G955U1UES2AQL1_G955U1OYM2AQL1 Firmware (link in post to follow)
G955U1UEU2CRB9_G955U1OYM2CRB9 Firmware (link in post to follow)
Official Samsung Cable that came with phone (preferably)
Windows OS
A Galaxy S8+ 955u1 Phone (only tried with this)
Instructions:
1. Extract both firmware files/zips (Put in 2 seperate folders so no mixups)
2. Reboot your phone to download mode (Power off then -- Power + Bixby + Volume Down at same time)
3. Open up princecomsey ODIN and then connect your phone to USB 2.0 Port
4. Add in the AQL1 Files - (BL, AP, CP, CSC) -- (I personally first did the AP, CP, and CSC then had it reboot then i restarted and flashed the BL by itself then rebooted) and press start. (I unchecked everything but reboot and f.reset time)
5. Unplug and Wait for it to turn on to the setup screen, then finish the setup. If you open up settings it will be all jumbled up and weird, but dont worry. If you dont have service yet - dont worry.
6. Now after the phone is all setup (or if you decided to skip), unplug and power off the phone then boot into download mode again.
7. Now open up Regular odin and reconnect the phone
