<GUIDE><TOOLS> Verizon S6 Stock Restore Files<ODIN><SmartSwitch>
I will not be updating this thread any further. I no longer own the device.
Here is a link to the stock Verizon tar file to flash in download mode via Odin. I will add more files as they become available. Use this to return to factory stock if a factory reset dose not solve any problems you may have with your retail Verizon S6. If you find these files useful and download them please hit the thanks button. Do not copy these files and repost them, make a link to this thread instead. If I missed anything in the instructions please let me know and I will update the OP. Thanks and enjoy.
Install Instructions1: Download Odin and Verizon S6 Retail Tar from the links below. Then extract the Odin.zip file ..
2: Run Odin and pick the AP button then navigate to where you saved the file you want to flash and chose that file. Let Odin verify the file.
3: Turn off your phone and enter download mode by holding the home, volume down and the power buttons until the enter download mode screen appears. Then enter download mode by letting go of the buttons and then press the volume up key.
4: Now you should be in download mode, connect your phone to your PC now. Odin should say connected in the message box, if not you need to install your Samsung phone drivers.
5: After connecting your phone and loading the tar file select the Start button and let Odin do it's job. This will take about 5 to to 10 minutes to complete. Please be patient and do not disconnect your phone until the phone reboots and the word Pass appears in the upper left corner of Odin.
6: That's it, you should now be in the phone setup screen with the words Pass in Odin if all went well.
If you get stuck in a bootloop after flashing a tar file don't panic. Enter the maintenance menu by holding the volume down, home and power keys for about 10 seconds. Then clear cache and factory data reset.
Firmware Flashing
1: Using flashfire wipe and then flash the ROM you are switching to that is of a different build. OE2 to OC3 for an example. You wikll most likely get stuck at the Samsung lockscreen when the phone reboots.
2: Don't panic just reboot into download mode and flash the proper firmware with Odin by holding down the home, volume down and power buttons for about 10 seconds. Select reboot and use the same button combo to enter download mode.

Is it possible to remove bloatware via this? May be a stupid question but I recall in the past of people having modded restore files such as this which did not contain bloatware or for instance even contained root. Possibilities of this? Also thanks for the thread!

No, we can not do that without root. If the stock image is modified in any way it breaks the signature and fails to boot. Thank the locked bootloader and Verizon for that but we can disable the apps witch is nearly as good.

Just curious... Would it be possible to grab only the csc folder from this? Interested in making some comparisons versus other variants.

Yes, you just need to build a ROM with Kitchen and you will have the csc folder after you do that.

If you haven't grabbed the CSC folder I can get it for you. I have my Linux drive set back up.

If it's not too much trouble that would be great. I haven't downloaded it yet -- we have data caps up here and I've used quite a bit this month. Hesitant to download a couple gigs just for a few kb!

Good to see you around too. I got the g920v. I ditched my DevEd Note 4 for the rootless S6 because I like it that much. The hardware is pretty amazing. Plus I wanted to step away from ROM building for a while with all that has been going on with life. It's way too time consuming. I will probably get back into it some day but for now these tar threads are a good way for me to give back to the community.

Is there any way to do this on a macbook?

Okay so I've been at it for days and i mean like months.... when I first bought my 8 gb white Samsung galaxy tab 3 Kernel 3.4.5, android 4.1.2, model JZ054K.T210RUEAMK1 and all i have been running into is problems, like jittery display issues, or flickering display, I tried every method but none has worked but i finally found one and got it all working and running, First of all i would like to thank gr8nole for this method, and all who have helped him. So first let me explain the most easiest explanation for dummies like me, or noobs
Just and example video for visual learners http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XolmtyvS3Yk&feature=youtu.be, but you want to click on the files i suggested on the bottom lol not what he has on his screen xD
Must Have: KIES, make sure you have fully updated rom from samsung themself which can be found on kies when you plug it in and update firmware, which your android should be on 4.1.2 and version because that's what i have
1. First lets Get all the files we need, First go download SM-T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip at his xda post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433853, after you have download that you will a friend name odin, which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539 (With odin you only want to use v3.07) and nothing else , Last but not least you want this file from gr8ole android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip and save that to your sd card or ext while click on usb debugging or w.e you wanna store in on tablet
so you should have odin 3.07
T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip
android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip
2. Use the same method as g8nole and minor adjustments
Instructions:
1. Download ODIN on your computer (just do a google search to find it...version 3.07 will work fine). http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2189539
2. Power off the device.
3. Restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time (for about 5 seconds).
4. Hit the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
5. Start the ODIN exe program using admin rights which means right click run as admin. I recommend un-checking Auto Reboot. DO NOT CHECK RE-PARTITION LEAVE UNCHECKED YOU BEEN WARNED (which it already should be). See notes about ODIN below.
6. Connect the device via USB to your computer. Verify the device shows as "Added" in the Message box. If it doesn't show then you need the Samsung USB drivers (just install KIES to get them) which can be found here http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/.
7. Select "PDA" then choose the T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip.
8. Hit "START"
9. Wait for device to restart. Which means wait til odin says OKAY in the white box and the Picture ask you to reset, When the download icon under download updates is full bar, and odin says reset!, just unplug it. then restart by holding the power button down, with vol up, and home, once the samsung picture shows, only hold the up vol button, recovery mode should now be on. Select install zip, and locate the android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip)navigate with the up down volume button and power button to select) file, whichever you placed in sd, or exsd,
10. When all is done reboot device, then it will update your android once you turn it on, Now the anoying part, It will be rooted but what google play won't connect?, easy fix , first lets just update all the binaries since its already rooted in supersu app,
Google Store Fix, now first you have to delete your some things, your apps wont dissapear or nothing as long as you dont uinstall them, go to settings<application manager<all<google play store<clear data/cache w.e<force stop<uninstall updates<it will then ask you it will be factory installed<yes, next step, delete your gmail account if you haven't done so, now go to your time settings (Date and Time) and change it to recent date whichever today is , then open play store and it will ask you to sign in again, blah blah google needs sign up and it should be up and running
ALL DONE, remember this is for people who have run into flicker display problems, which is caused by kernal issue with our model, but with stock rom itself we can universally root it through odin with just that simple method which took me like 3 mins lol to do
Grats guys! you have root and cwm now who doesn't want that enjoy and thanks to developers hard work! and my ambition!
this worked for my SM-T210 also. Thanks heaps for this how-to!
Ok my device is already rooted but I would like to install CWM Recovery on it. So I can make a backup. Or does anyone have the stock kernel for it

But you can also use Odin 3.09.
I'm portant is that you flash always the newest CWM / TWRP or PhilzTouch Version about the new updater scripts.

Your best option is to get CWM sknce it will be your original backup instead of a Rom created from another device.
SM-T2105?
Hello,
I came here beacause of a shorcut link given by @gr8nole and another member (I forgot sorry).
But my English must be to bad, i read and re-read, still don't find the answer...
I have the G Tab 3 kids model, SM-T2105.
@bierma32 says: "Important is that you flash always the newest CWM / TWRP or PhilzTouch Version"
Could you tell me wich one is the best, CMW or TWRP, plz? (the last I can find for T210 is CMW-6.0.4.9 and/or TWRP-2.8.2.0)
More important, do you know where I can find the zip of a rooted stock rom, including that 'kids' stuff? (SM-T2105). Or will I not loose the stock rom? Is there no wipe? Sorry, I don't understand.
I want to root, because of lack of space, and the rest.. but I don't want to loose that..
And the most important, "last but not least", I could not find the zip " android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip", so can you help me please, putting a mirror or so? Or could it work only with flashing a SuperSU zip? Not so easy, right?
As you maybe can read, I am a newbie in Android rooting. Or is there another way to do?
Thanks for reply.
THIS WILL WORK ONLY IF YOU CAN GET INTO DOWNLOAD MODE (Odin mode) if you bricked your bootloader try HERE
Who can benefit from this?
Anyone who took the OTA to 4.3 then tried to downgrade resulting in a soft brick
Anyone who took the OTA to 4.3 and somehow lost there recovery or follow restoring stock recovery instructions HERE
Anyone who took the OTA to 4.3 but failed with access to download mode
Anyone who wants 4.3 but for some reason can not OTA
Anyone who took the NC1 update (new 4.3) and wants to revert to ML1 (old 4.3 with saferoot and safestrap support)
Linux and Mac users must follow the Odin method using the correct PIT file (found at the bottom of the op) and substitue Odin with Jodin3 found HERE and spam AdamOutler thanks button for making Jodin3
WARNING! UPDATING TO 4.3 WILL RESULT IN A LOCKED BOOTLOADER FOREVER!!
4.3 with Odin
How to enter Download Mode
Make sure your device is completely off
Hold Volume Down + Home
While holding both of them simultaneously press the Power button until you see the disclaimer on the screen
Then let go of all the buttons and press Volume Up
=====================================================================================
Download and extract Odin <--- New link 1/23/14
Download and extract ALL_I535VRUCML1_I535VZWCML1_2198062_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5.7z (official old 4.3 tar ball) or ALL_I535VRUCNC1_I535VZWCNC1_2198062_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.md5.7z (official new 4.3 tar ball)
Download kies and install as administrator. make sure the [Unified Driver Installer] check box is checked at the end of the install (Might take some time)
Windows Kies Here
Mac Kies Here
Enter Download Mode
Make sure Kies is closed then plug in your phone and wait for drivers to install
Open Odin As administrator
You should see your phone under ID:COM (you should also see it has been added in message)
Make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time is checked
Check PDA [ ]
Click on [PDA] And select the .tar file you just extracted (Only use PDA Never use the others)
Wait for it to verify the MD5 then click [Start]
From here on out its all automated Odin will Flash SCH-I535_I535VRUCML1 then restart (dont forget first boot takes time)
If you get stuck in a boot loop go into recovery and do a factory reset (probably should regardless)
4.3 With Verizon Utility [will always push the most recent firmware atm 4.4.2 and you will not be able to go back to 4.3] (Windows only for now)

Click [continue]
From here on out its all automated it will download and install SCH-I535_I535VRUCML1 then restart (dont forget first boot takes time)
If you get stuck at 84% try THIS
If you get stuck in a boot loop go into recovery and do a factory reset (probably should regardless)
If you keep failing it might be because you have bad partitions. Download the pit file that matches your phone (16gb S3 use the 16gb pit file or 32gb S3 use the 32gb pit file) Follow the Odin instructions with the addition of your pit file By clicking [PIT] in Odin. Or try this fix Here
SCH-I535_D2VZW_16gb.pit
====================
SCH-I535_D2VZW_32gb.pit
As long as things went smooth you should be back on 4.3 ready to take on the world!
Want root on 4.3? Use saferoot (ML1) HERE or towelroot (ML1/NC1) HERE Remember you are on a locked bootloader. You can not flash insecure bootloader, roms or custom recovery.

I was waiting as well, But I was about to chuck my Droid x against a wall. Another funny thing is right before I tried this my phone got sudden death syndrome (power button stayed compressed so every time battery is put in it automatically tuns on then off ). Luckily slamming my phone against the table wasn't a internet troll and it got fixed.

Thanks so much!
You are a life saver. Thank you!
Good to see that some folks can resurrect their device now. A locked but working phone is certainly better than no phone at all.
Awesome work ThePagel!

I signed up just to say thank you. I decided to go for broke and take my phone into Verizon just to see what they said and they suggested I upgrade to a new phone. I'm sure they could have performed this for me, but I'm glad I did it myself. Once again, thank you.
Couple things, when you redo the OP could you make sure to detail what scenario would lead you to using this tool? Maybe make that a little clearer.
Also, we don't have a bootloader to boot directly into like say HTC devices. Samsung let's you boot into recovery or download mode. Download Mode may be an equivalent term to "bootloader" for other devices but it may be confusing to new S3 users down the road. Cheers!

@ThePagel I PMd you. I will go ahead and post a mirror for the SUA_ar.zip here. You can move this link to the OP. Once everyone wakes up they are gonna shut down your dropbox for excessive traffic.

Kies should handle that. Not sure but as never used Kies but you should not need that other file. Just repair in Kies.
Will this repair a broken recovery also? After I took the OTA I rooted then tried to install a custom recovery. Now when I boot to recovery I get the error "SECURE FAIL: KERNAL" as well as the yellow triangle. The phone does work and I can get into download mode, I just want my recovery back so I can do a factor data reset if needed.

That is weird. Mine did not ship with custom but after the brick it did have it, then after the unbrick it was gone. Is your warranty in download mode 0 or 1?

Good evening all.
I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7 inch model, The other day I rooted my device and everything was working fine. A few days ago I left my device over a friends house and when I went to go pick it up, I load the Tab 4 up, I am stuck on the Samsung logo. I do have twerp installed and able to get in recovery mode, I try to just reset it to factory reset and I get a error says failed because storage and data can not be mounted. My question is where can I get the factory reset rom so I can flash my device back to factory restore?
If anyone can help me it would be deeply apprecicated..

You can find any stock touchwiz on sammobile(.com) (can't post link, not on the forum for long enough!) (take the one for your device, beware that there are multiple models of the same device, so make sure to take the good one) . But you have to flash it with odin in download mode. You will lose everything, root, games, pictures, twrp, etc... (It's actually a really good way to get back your warranty on your device, since it looks like nothing has ever been modified). btw, try saying what your problem is on the title when you do a post, more people will answer you.
Tell me if it worked and if you do not know how to flash stock touchwiz to your device, tell me
If it helped you, don't forget to thank me!

Go to setting---> about phone, and try to find your model number (I do not have access to my phone right now, so I can't tell you where it is exactly). then take the one on sammobile that has the same model number.

MAD PROPS to @@JonathanRAZ FOR GETTING US UP AND RUNNING WITH ROOT!
I stole yer stuff!! MUAAHAhahahahahaaaaaa, be sure to thank at least one of his posts.
I’m just consolidating things down to one post to follow. I did this, worked perfectly on the first try for me.
WHAT YOU NEED:
YOU NEED TO READ THIS ENTIRE THING BEFORE ATTEMPTING.
The ACTUAL links are further below.
- Marshmallow TAR file:
Thanks to @SamFirm2016 for uploading the ZIP.
- ODIN
Thanks to @TEKHD for having a direct link.
- TWRP & SuperSU **Courtesy of @Chainfire and @bigbiff**
TWRP-3.0.2-1-G928T-N920T.tar
From what I have read, Philz Recovery doesn’t work currently.
- SuperSU-v2.71-G928T-N920T.zip
Thanks to @Misterjunky for sharing these direct links.
WHAT TO DO!
READ EVERYTHING FIRST, then…READ IT AGAIN!
I will not hold your hand as I’ve written this out so it’s easy to follow.
READ EVERYTHING FIRST!
1. BACK EVERYTHING UP! You’re going to want to have a nandroid and backups with Titanium Backup or ROMToolbox. You can thank me now AND later. Also, might do the SMSBackup for your messages.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF BATTERY!! This is common sense, but you know how people are.
2. Plug your phone into your computer and copy the “SuperSU-v2.71-G928T-N920T.zip” to your phone. This will be flashed via recovery, TWRP, in a few steps.
3. Once copy is complete, TURN OFF your phone, completely off. Power that baby down.
4. Make sure your phone is no longer plugged into your computers, UNPLUGGED. Then press the vol down + power + home button. This puts you into “Download Mode”. Press the vol up button, as the screen tells you to do, but DON’T plug it in yet, that’s in a bit.
DO NOT PLUG YOUR PHONE IN.
5. Unzip “N920TUVU2DPD1_N920TTMB2DPD1_TMB.zip”, the file from the Marshmallow update, and remove the “.md5” from the end so it’s just “.tar”.
Should be “N920TUVU2DPD1_N920TTMB2DPD1_N920TUVU2DPD1_HOME.tar”.
6. Open ODIN!
7. Installing the Marshmallow update:
You will click on “AP” and select the “N920TUVU2DPD1_N920TTMB2DPD1_N920TUVU2DPD1_HOME.tar” file.
AP = N920TUVU2DPD1_N920TTMB2DPD1_N920TUVU2DPD1_HOME.tar
8. NOW plug your phone in and let Odin recognize it.
9. Let’s click on the START button at the bottom of ODIN and DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE ON THE SCREEN.
The phone will reboot and start up Android, and this is fine for this portion of the process.
10. Power off the phone and unplug it from the computer, just as we did before in step 3.
11. Go ahead and bring it up into “download mode” as we did in step 4. Don’t plug it in yet.
12. Now let’s get TWRP loaded-
Installing TWRP:
You will click on “AP” and select the “TWRP-3.0.2-1-G928T-N920T.tar” file.
AP = TWRP-3.0.2-1-G928T-N920T.tar
13. NOW plug your phone in and let Odin recognize it.
14. Next, READ STEP 11 FIRST!
Why? Because you’re going to have to have fast hands and fingers to hit the vol up + power + home button when the phone automatically reboots.
Suggested by @richie_b:
"in Odin (Options tab) u can uncheck (Auto reboot ) so u wont have to have quick hands ...this will leave the phone in download mode...but all u have to do is press vol-down + home + power ..to get it out of download and into twrp"
15. Let’s click on the START button at the bottom of ODIN and DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE ON THE SCREEN.
Get ready for the reboot and those fast fingers.
16. As soon as it passes the phone screen will go black, IT IS REBOOTING, and you NEED TO HIT VOL UP + POWER + HOME BUTTON to boot into recovery.
If you miss this then do it again.
17. Once done correctly, the Samsung screen will come up, relax because the TWRP screen is coming up afterwards.
18. In TWRP, press “install”, navigate to the “SuperSU-v2.71-G928T-N920T.zip” you copied over, select it, and slide the slider at the bottom to install.
19. I didn’t do any wipes, I have a Zen Watch 2 and that disconnects it from the phone and I’m lazy…meh. Regardless, you can or you can skip that step. Some have and some didn’t.
20. REBOOT system.
21. It WILL ask for the pin code with your fingerprint access, if you have that set. I noticed it does this after every reboot.
22. Yer welcome. Should work now.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS and there should be no questions.
Thank me and the people I listed.
NOOBS! Search the threads before asking. I’m nice and like to help, but I WILL refer you to this post and tell you to follow it.
If you’ve never rooted you will want to do a bit of research first.
BRICKING OR BREAKING YOUR PHONE IS NOT MY FAULT!

Having issues with Marshmallow biting pay the logo?
You need to do a full and complete wipe in twrp recovery, wipe system, data, cache, dalvik and last but not least a factory reset in twrp.
After that put the phone into download mode and flash the marshmallow firmware.

Great thread, thanks!
Question. I'm obviously missing it somehow, but where/when do flash the firmware? I've downloaded all the files. Extracted to my desktop. Odin's open and ready. I have TWRP sitting in the AP section but when/where (which step) is the firmware being flashed?
Will try this later tonight thank you.

Ok so got a Notepro P900 - "stock" it only boots to Logo then a blank screen.
Tried recovery/reflashing but Odin just sticks on "initializing", I have seen threads saying to enable USB debugging etc but i can boot into the OS.
Can someone PLEASE let me know if I can save this unit?
I think it was is running 4.4.2. - obviously I don't care about knox etc, I would just like to get it running again
thank you
Edit: OK - $50 reward for anyone who can fix it.
can you boot into recovery mode?
Press and hold Volume UP key + Home Key, while pressing these keys then press and hold Power key for a while.
Release all key when Android or Samsung logo appear then you will see Android System Recovery.
Use Volume keys to select Menu.
Use Power key to Confirm.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can do anything great there without activating debugging mode in the settings. Otherwise, you could pretty much bypass all theft protection.
... tried something similar after forgetting my screen lock but gave up annoyed after a while ^^
If it is the stock rom, it should be Android 5.1., right? Maybe you can post your thread in another, less specified section of this forum. Otherwise you could still try it in the forum Android-Hilfe.de at MisterX31. [I hope with this recommendation I do nothing undesirable in this forum !?]He has already helped over 200 people personally and individually with a 98 percent success rate without asking for more than a thank you.
Hopefully I could help you with this answer. If you already know something new, please let me know.
@TessTickles did you carry on trying or gave up?
Does Odin find it when connected in download mode (Vol minus, pwr, home together) to your PC?
In recovery Odin will not flash it.
Btw which Odin version did you try it with?

So you just want to flash the recovery and keep the system?
I'd recommend to flash the stock lollipop ROM consisting of three parts.
That would be like a factory reset.
Then start again with rooting.
The three part ROM you get with SamFirm tool in checking the binary box.
Insert model and region and check automatic decryption as well.

Hi thanks for the reply - it was never rooted. I was just trying to get it running again, reset is fine.
Never used SamFirm before is there a guide anywhere?
I have also tried downloading the stock rom a few times and it always times out on places like sammobile - where can I get it?
thanks

Easiest way would be to use SamFirm.
May take a while to download ROM, but never timed out for me and it loads directly from Samsung servers.
Doesn't have to be installed just start it after unpacking.
No real guide needed imo.
Quite self explaining.
If you search for it in the net you'll find loads of pics showing what to do.
Just be sure to insert correct device type, region and check "decrypt automatically".
Here is a link to the original thread.

Don't care about "deprecated" because for all my six different Samsung devices it downloaded all the stock ROMs.
After downloading just start Odin from a desktop folder (c:/odin is best)
copy all three downloaded / uncompressed files into it
go into download mode (Vol down, home, pwr) with your P900 and Vol up for confirmation
connect P900 to PC
add the different files in their specific Odin boxes
don't uncheck "auto reboot" in options
Hit start and hope it'll work
It always did on mine when I sometimes mangled them up when flashing ROMs that produced permanent reboots or other probs.

Don't be sorry - I appreciate the help.
Did everything exactly as you stated... everything goes fine until I press start and then the Odin gets to "Initialization.." and thats it. Never moves, left it for an hour.
This is what happened before, tried everything and cannot get past initialization.
Thanks again
Well now we can just try different options.
Is Samsung Kies still running?
which Samsung mobile drivers do you use?
I don't have Kies and just use the mobile drivers.
Give older Odin versions a try as well.
The oldest one I have is the 3.04.
I just read that a repartitioninig with a .pit file might help, but that's quite dangerous to the device and should be the last option.
As long as the P900 is still reacting it can't be totally dead so there should be a possibility to revive it.
Do you have the possibility to do the whole process on a different PC?

Tried Kies a few times - it doesn't work. I can't remember what it failed though.
