I think you need to flash vbmeta after official rom, if you don't, you go straight to fastboot

Is anyone able to give a step by step on how they managed to install?
I tried this (from RevOS thread) and afterwards im stuck at Descendat splash screen:
•Go to recovery
•Wipe all ( internal storage, dalvik, cache, data, vendor, system )
•Format data
•Reboot to recovery
...............................................................
tried with and without
• (go to wipe > advance wipe > select cache > repair or change file system > change file system > set it to f2fs)
•Do same with data >repair or change file system > change file system > set it to f2fs)
..............................................................
•Flash only rom
•Flash firmware
•Reboot to system.

Any tips to install it?
Should we install the Firmware, GApps...?
EDIT:
I did:
1) Wipe all;
2) Format data;
3) Reboot Recovery;
4) Installed Firmware;
5) Installed ROM;
6) Reboot System.
Works fine.

Fixed the bootloop (logo) bug? I tried to install the last update (July), but didn't work.

Hi, does anyone know if infared works in this rom?
Thanks

Hi, it worked here. I changed data and cache from F2S2 to EXT4 and installed niko gapps, after flash the rom.

Hello Dil3mm4, first of all thank you for the rom, it's awesome! One thing that I cannot get to work is GPS. Could you please fix it?I tried:
Flashing FW Android 10 & flashing the rom
Dirty flashed FW Android 11 afterwards not working
Clean flash FW10, the rom and FW11, and then first boot

I didn't managed to install it.
Followed every step but when trying to flash the rom, I always get the message : "Update process ended with ERROR: 1"
Tried different recovery versions but I always get this message.
I don't know what's bloking

Hi.

I've managed to unlock the phone and boot to TWRP but I'm getting error and dont know where to go next.
Please give me some advice on this.

Use other TWRP or ROM.
I installed this rom and everything was fine. It seems it can't unmount some partitions, try to reboot the recovery or unmount them manually or try from adb this comman "adb remount"
HI, I have a problem with installation of Lineage OS 17.1. I start with rom stock android and emui 8.0 in huawei p8 lite 2017, after wipe system, data, cache devlink i flash the rom with twrp and resize system, restart in recovery twrp and flash the patch. The system lineage start but in the first installation the ui crash, and when i finish the installation the home was black. I can see only power off restart button. What can i do? I have to decrypt internal storage? Sorry for my english and thanks guys for help us.

I removed the encryption from /data partition before flashing, because I read that the encryption causes a bootloop on many rom. But if you could start android your problem is different from that. Try to install gapps or do a complete reflashing.
The step I used to install this rom was:
- the full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik), then format data.
- flashing the rom
- flashing the gapps (if you got error 70, resize system partition, and try again)
- flash the NFC fix
- wipe cache and wipe dalvik
- reboot
N.B Do all these steps in once without reboot
I think is encryption the problem because i can't format data
how can i decrypt files and get stock recovery? because if I understand correctly once the internal memory has been deleted I will not be able to re-download the stock rom with huawei eRecovery
i have format data but the problem with ui persist the app UI system it keeps interrupting

To remove the encryption I fetched the fstab file using adb (because I couldn't modified it directly due the absence of an editor) modified it from my pc and replaced on the phone. And it worked !
here the command used to fetch the fstab file:
Code:
adb pull /vendor/etc/fstab.hi6250
and then to replace:
Code:
adb push fstab.hi6250 /vendor/etc/
The step I used to install this rom was:
- the full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik), then format data( this remove the encryption)
- flashing the rom
- flashing the gapps (if you got error 70, resize system partition, and try again)
- flash the NFC fix
- wipe cache and wipe dalvik
- reboot
and the problem persist the ui crash in the first installation and when finish i have only black screen
which version are you trying to install ?
Lineage OS 17.1
from which developer ? I'm trying to install the haky86 one right now
DarkJoker360, i take twrp from haky86
try to install the haky86 one. I think the DarkJoker's one doen't support the use of sdcard as internal memory indeed I couldn't find the option and then I moved to android 10 to try if it runs good but the fingerprint doesn't work so I went back to android 9
and finally I have been successful!
when the decryption file doesn't work
here's how I did it:
in twrp (twrp-3.4.0.0-v1-hi6250-emui8) tap format data, write yes and swipe
go to advance wipe: cache, dalvik, data e system
reboot recovery
connect the phone to the pc
in the home of twrp go to advanced - adb sideload
rename the zip of ROM in filename.zip (i choose [ROM][PRA-LX1] Haky86's LineageOS 15.1 Oreo Huawei P8 Lite 2017)
moved the zip to the adb folder
Started cmd in adb folder with shift and right click open power shell window here
cmd : adb sideload filename.zip
when the istallation finish
reboot system
if everything works open twrp and
flash addonsu lineage os su(arm64) and you have magisk manager
reboot system
for google app the last gapps crash for me
i solved with this method:
go to opengapps, older releases, i chose the 20200705
install with twrp
reboot system
enjoy!

How can I do this ?
adb remount not working for me mate - my phone has original software. I need root to do that and to have root I need custom rom wich I cannot install because above reason.
I figured out that my partitions are decrypted and that probobably causes the problem.
How can I fix this ?

If you already got a custom recovery (TWRP for example) installed, you can skip this step.
1. Download the vendor file from here and the Evolution ROM from here.
2. Boot into TWRP Recovery.
3. Flash the vendor file.
4. Wipe cache and dalvik
5. Flash the Evolution ROM.
6. Format Data, be sure you format data and not just wipe.
7. Reboot to recovery.
The step to Format Data is necessary in some cases where you come from a different ROM which does have a different file system.

The camera doesn't seem to work at all. Google Camera is installed as a system app and in the play store an update is available.
However when I try to install the update, it fails everytime. Also installing the apk fails everytime.

disable the google camera system app and install a modded version from here. most of them work but i find BSG to be the best. if you want an open source camera there are some on the play store and maybe on fdroid. i will try to include a working camera like snap cam on a future build.
After clean ROM, recovery and firmware flash, fingerprint unlock is not working, it's saying "Hold a little longer" even though I holding it all the time. Rest looks smooth and stable, SafetyNet, L1, all cameras (BSG version here) too.

3- Features, does it have "lift to wake" and "long press on volume buttons to switch music tracks"?
Thanks!

I'm very pleased with this ROM. Thank you!
I came from ArrowOS 11.0 and did a dirty flash; without wiping cache/dalvik. I installed ArrowOS with Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_11.02.2020.zip and did that again on this Rom. The only thing I would like is to get rid off that horizontal line at the bottom of the screen. You can see it at the picture. Anyone an idea? Thanks!

it's been over 1.5 months and no updates.... the ROM seems stable and responsive for now but a monthly security update is much needed.

Oh, I'm sorry.. I should've checked the site before commenting.
Huge props to the developer! I'll clean flash tomorrow.
dirty flash from 7.13, all seem fine. nice rom!
I can't find the settings for app lock. Is it available in this version? I'm pretty sure it was available in the 7.X version

That's a shame. I'm using Nova Launcher. I tried to switch to the native launcher, lock the apps and switch back to nova but it had no effect (makes sense, since it's a launcher thing)
Great ROM!
Though I am currently facing two issues, one is that if I use a different launcher like the provided crdroid launcher the home glitches, and also the sensors like accelerometer GPS compass, etc. aren't working. Is anyone else facing these problems and if so any solutions?

1. The launcher may be incompactable or needs module support like quickswitch.
2. This can be occur to serveral reasons.
-did you flash gapps after first boot?. try deleteing /data/misc_de/*/apexdata/com.android.permission/runtime_permissions.xml
or clean flash rom , dont forget flash gapps before first boot.
2nd cause is this may occur if you are coming from a pie based rom
check your sensors using sensorbox app in play.google.com

I was using MIUI stock before this and while in the stock I had all the sensors available in the sensor box app.
And I did flash gapps, but not after first boot but rather after flashing the crdroid Rom itself.
I will reflash the Rom and will update you shortly!

Fixed Update!
I had to revert back to my stock MIUI with the official fastboot Rom to regain sensor functionality, and after flashing crDroid again, it's working fine, and the launcher issue is gone too.
Hi, great ROM, thanks!
Some minor issue: the apps are not quite sorted; regardless of launcher (even default one), the list is sorted until the last ones:
...
SatStat
Telegram
Waze
Contacts
Files
Settings
What are "Contacts", "Files" and "Settings" doing there and how do I get them to their proper places?
Is anyone else facing stability issues? I have had frequent crashes of the system UI forcing a restart.
after upgrading from 8.2 to 8.5, the mobile network signal became very weak
Is Violet still supported?
Thank you so much for continuing supporting this phone with a google-less option!
Thank you
Can someone help me out: I'm trying to wipe my phone after installing this ROM (messed up some things so basically reinstalling).
However if I try to wipe the data in Orange Fox, I get a TON of errors
Here's the last one in an incredibly long list (takes two minutes to scroll through): Error opening: '/data/ssh/OFJF8xpsY7U8SodJ9qcy6B' (Operation not permitted)
There are a ton of files in the sdcard that I can't open or access or do anything with.
I've never encountered this type of problem before, how do I fix it exactly?
Edit: To clarify, I can't wipe the data partition and I don't know why that is.
Is there anyway to disable the auto app suggestion in the dock at the bottom of your screen?
I like having only 4 apps in there and like the gap for the visual break it gives me. But its quite annoying that the last used app is automatically going in there.
Solved: Click on the home screen - settings - misc - last option (I think its called suggestions)

yeah I've seen in my other threads also )
should be fixed now
I tried to sideload GoogleSearch to get hey google but now I'm getting "Check your internet connection and try again" when I press unlock more assistant features.
Edit: GoogleSearch worked fine in android 12.
Forget about it I found the problem. Don't know why google setting were disable but after enabling, everything works.
Does this oos cam support slowmotion and h265 video rec ?
"Long press on fingerprint sensor to unlock phone" seems to be broken. It's turning off automatically when I try to turn it on.
Navigation with hand gestures disappears after 1 day!
Thank you for this amazing rom! I recommend using Msm tool (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-for-indian-variant-flashing-as-well.4454357/ and see this video for further help
) if you are coming from Derp android 12 rom like I was. Everything works great, even the oos camera. Unlimited google photos upload works perfectly. I am also passing safetynet and play store settings check after following the youtube video titled SafetyNet ByPass & CTS Profile False Fix, and this is with Magisk 25.2 zip installed after first boot. I think the creator posts a lot on xda if I remember correctly.

The ROM is really smooth and stable. Big thumb up.
The only problem I ran into is that the kernel doesn't seem to support Network Signal Guru. Any idea? crDroid 8 worked fine with NSG.

It's not entirely rom based, if you're talking about an app they probably haven't Updated there app yet to 13. Lots of errors still occur on 13 based ROMs .

Thanks for the Nov 18, 2022 Build. It works fine. However, I did have a problem with the boot-20221118.img file.
It just hangs & do not boot to recovery on my LE2115. I had to go back to the Nov 11, 2022 boot-20221111.img file to boot to recovery & install the new 11/18 ROM.

Same
for anyone using the latest update... DO NOT USE SMART LOCK! when you try to unlock using the normal pattern the system crashes and resets and you are stuck in an infinite loop. if you do manage to unlock it by some miracle and you try to go to settings and undo that smart lock huge mistake or change/disable the screen lock completely settings will crash so you ll still be stuck. do not use google remote lock as i did as that locks it forever, the brain dead people working for google removed the feature of remote unlock

Is it by desgin that the cdDroid ROM defaults to Sound in Do Not Disturb mode?
It not a problem to simply toggle the sound on. I was just wondering since on all of the upgrades the sound has been set back to Do Not Disturb mode.
