[Question] Wait 168 Hours to Unlock - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

I have attempted to unlock this phone multiple times already, I always get the "Wait 168 hours..." message.
The steps I do:
1. Add device in Developer settings
a. If it asks me to try to add the account and device again, I log out then log in the Mi Account then re-do the step in Developer Setting
2. Open Mi Unlock tool so I can get the verification code on my phone
3. Turn off phone, Fastboot mode
4. Unlock
I have attempted this at least 4 times on 2 different sim cards and 2 different accounts. I still get the wait message.
Edit: I waited the 168 hours every time
Any ideas?

Maybe useful

also possible that you have not used the phone enough.

DO NOT LOG OUT your Mi-Account.
You do the first step correct.
I assume you press the button in the developer mode with SIM card and internet access with it (not WIFI internet access, your number needs to have internet access).
If you pressed the button in the Developer Setting once, DON'T PRESS THE BUTTON ANYMORE, it will reset the countdown timer.
You pressed the button in the developer setting ONCE. Then just wait. You don't need to go into developer setting in the later steps.
The later steps only involves PC and your phone. You won't see the countdown timer in your phone. The timer is seen on PC with your phone under fastboot mode.

Ok, thank you!
So my only mistake was rebinding the account after waiting the 168 hours, I thought I had to re-do it from the top.
So after the wait, just go into fastboot directly and unlock.
Thank you!

Want to install the TouchFlo and Cube but don't want to use a custom flash?
1. Download the Original Flash release from T-Mobile.
Part 1
Part 2
2. Backup your device since the upgrade will erase any data in it. You can back it up to your memory card or computer.
3. If you are installing in a device with no modifications, hard reset (Press and hold both soft keys and press reset button, continue to hold soft keys until screen displays to hard reset. Press the call button to continue). If you need to install the original software, continue to step 3a
3a. Enter boot loader on your phone (Hold camera button and press reset, continue holding camera until a screen with 3 gradient colors shows up
3b. Connect your computer via USB to your ppc (Pocket PC)
3c. Run the*orignal RUU (software)*.exe from your hard drive, follow its simple onscreen instructions and click check boxes necessary to continue with the installation. This should take a few minutes, and you will more then likely see your screen flash and change things, this is normal, let it work. After a few minutes it will boot up and go into "automatic customization of your device", I continued this (screen alignment, tips, auto setup), and waited for my device to be totally ready for me to use.
4. Connect your device via USB to the PC and wait for it to connect. If it automatically pulls up a profile for your phones sync, delete that profile. If it asks again to setup the device for syncing items, click cancel. You will still be able to explore your phone and install devices without setting up the sync profile for your phone.
5. Make sure your phone is connected as a guest, if it is not, make sure it is. It should display as guest after the hard reset.
Download the modified OS (RUU)
Part 1
Part 2
6. Copy "Aserg policies.cab" to your mobile device
7. Run "Aserg policies.cab" from your device
8. Soft reset (use stylus for button on side of wing, or on bottom of herald)
9. Go into your Comm Manager on your phone, and disable "phone". Basically enter flight mode so nothing can be sent to your phone during this process.
10. Once booted, install the modified OS (with TouchFlo). Make sure you're still connected as guest, and run 1__Upgrade_rom.bat from*the modified OS*folder on your PC
11. This will bring up a command prompt waiting for you to hit a key to begin, press any key
12. During this time it is installing, NEVER touch your phone or play with it in any matter. It may look as though the command prompt has gotten hung up at times, but leave it run until it completes (or fails). your phone will pop up a message saying "unknown status" or the likes, but don't close that window, like I said just leave it alone.
13. If you have no error messages in the command dialogue box then you're ready to hard reset your phone. (press both soft keys, and press reset, continue holding soft keys until you see a dialogue asking if its okay to restore settings, hit the call button to finish it)
14. Your device SHOULD boot normally, go through setup, and you should be golden. If at any time there is an error during install, but you still let it complete, you might have a chance at it working. Hard reset it after completion (even with errors) just to see if it works. If it wont go past your T-mobile or HTC picture screen on boot up, then you have bricked your device. To un-brick it, run steps 3a through 3c and reinstall the RUU. If you get any errors, try and try again. Its proven working on several devices.

The problem I have with this phone, is that I do not have the original chip or sim card of the company, and this asks me for an activation as shown in the image:
My questions are: Is there an original ROM of this device? or if I can put the Rom of another model? or how can I solve the activation of the phone?
From already thank you very much!
I WAS GIVEN ONE OF THESE A WEEK AGO.
It is more simple than you would believe. At first I thought it would need a rom too. Or maybe I could root and bypass somehow.....
Nope,, I put in a non working Verizon Sim Card and when you get to the activAvation screen where it asked for a email or gmail account SLOW DOWN AND READ THE SCREEN...
You can simply skip adding an account..... then the phone booted right up for me and i set it up as i pleased.
Um, If im missing something, well, I did to a factory reset, then a hard reset..... I BELIEVE HAVING THE SIM CARD WAS ALL IT NEEDED.
Now I have full access, have turned on Developer Mode, it also has the OEM unlock feature, so im assuming this TRAC PHONE is going to have a built in recovery..... The only trac phone I messed with before is still in a box and will never recover from the brick i DROPPED ON IT.

Thanks for your comment, the friend problem is that I do not live in the United States, my dad gave me this phone so I do not have access to any of the companies in that country, so I asked if you could change the ROM to jump the Activation step.
Try a Hard Reset, not a factory reset..... Hold the power button and vol button Up button until the phone reboots.... if it takes you to the recovery then wipe it from there and also wipe the cache. then reboot with any cdma sim card and see what that does for you.... I also now have the active dialer codes of the phone... My favorite APP for any phone is MIXPLORER. It lets me disect the apk's and thats where all codes are hidden with exception of the unlock codes of course. I still havnt figured that out.
If that doesnt work for you then I will let you know that the phone is the same, AND (SHOULD )be compatible with alcatel one-touch pixie 3. However, My first attempts at unlocking the bootloader have failed, if its locked... suppose i should check that.....
I will be putting CM12 or Lineage Os On this phone soon..... or Ill brick it trying......
Good Luck to you.
If no sim cards work for you then order a Verizon sim on the internet.... or I could send you the one I have...
Same problem plsssssss how can I get your simcard
i have a jitterbug smart 2 off ebay and it takes forever on the setup screen after factory reset and then i wait like twenty minute and this sceen pops up and says setup failure please contact customer support and refer error code 2, that was the first error code, i tried again and got the second code which was error code 5 after i switched the sim card, third time and still nothing but the long finishing setup screen and setup failure, please help
Try this!
I can tell you a temp fix. I am here now on smart2 jitterbug.
Force reboot. When phone is starting , it takes it a moment to kick into finish setup mode. Quickly drop down notifications, go into settings, choose apps, choose show system apps, quickly empty cache and disable setup wizard. There are 2 different ones. One it into let you disable, but you can first stop, and clear cache. You may have to make a few attempts. I'm assuming your on wifi, so walk as far as possible without disconnecting but enough to lag your connection is helpful, in the effort. Also I disabled the permissions the apps had also alter system and perform on top of other apps. I just did this. There is a way to disable other apps I know. I haven't had an opportunity to do this yet.

This seemed to work for a moment for me. I disabled both setup wizards and I was finally able to use the phone for an extra 2 minutes or so but then the phone just rebooted on it's on. When it came back up, the same "Finishing setup" crap started after about 20 seconds. I checked the Setup Wizards and they were both still disabled, so how can the "Finishing Setup" still be running?
Update: actually the 2nd setup wizard app can't be disabled. I tried to force stop it but it doesn't seem to stop. Any suggestions?
My battery went dead and when I booted back up I had to wrestle with it again. On the wizard that doesn't let you disable it, did you clear the cache? Where it says storage, you go there and clear cache and data. My gboard started error looping me, I force close and temp disabled then cleared cache and data and re-enabled. This fixed it. Now this is only a temp solution to use the jitterbug. And stop the setup loop. I have a lot of experience bypassing for locked phones, and I knew this technique from a bypass. I will experiment more, and look for a permanent solution. I have never rooted a phone before and this seems like a good specimen.
The technique I was speaking of involved disabling Google play services, play store, and device manager, also. Re installing a new device manager and play service. It let you get through and add an account to the phone, without forcing you to add the account, you lost access too...

code *#*#4636#*#* not working
I know I'm late to this party, but I picked up the Jitterbug Smart2 and kept getting stuck at the "Finishing Setup" part; I left the original SIM card in that came with the phone, tried my Verizon SIM, and after a couple minutes it'd go back to that "Finishing setup" crap. This is what I did to get around/stop that annoyance:
Boot the phone, as soon as you do enable 'Developer options' (by navigating to System->About>then tapping "Build number" 5 times. If you're lucky, you can go back to the Dev options and enable "USB Debugging" (if not, reboot the phone then immediately go to Developer Options->Enable "USB Debugging"
Once USB Debugging is enabled, reboot again...
On the next reboot, I went straight to Apps->click the three dots in the right hand corner and select "Show system apps".
If you can, go down to "Setup Wizard" and disable it - make sure it's the one without an icon, not the on with the wizard hat
It may take you a few times to get there, but once your do, open up a command line with ADB running and connect the phone. It should prompt you to all the connection on the phone, tap "Remember this computer" on the phone, then run the following commands one at a time:
adb shell settings put global setup_wizard_has_run 1
adb shell settings put secure user_setup_complete 1
adb shell settings put global device_provisioned 1
Enjoy! I am still trying to figure out how to unlock the bootloader, as every attempt to reboot to fastboot/bootloader just straight reboots the phone.

I tried to use Action Launcer on my One Vision, it started doing EXACTLY that (restart after unlock).
The only way I could solve it was entering in recovery and wiping it clean. Here's how to do it:
1. Turn it off (hold Power Button for a few seconds)
2. Hold Power Button + Volume Down for some seconds
3. When you enter fastboot mode (with the android robot on screen), release the buttons
4. Use Volume Down to choose Recovery Mode and press Power Button to enter it
5. It will show the Android Robot with "No Command" on screen, when you get on this screen, hold the Power Button and press Volume Up then release the buttons, you will get into Recovery Mode screen
6. At Recovery Mode, choose Wipe data/Factory Reset and confirm when asked.
This worked on mine.
(link to procedure: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/motorola/motorola-one-vision/recovery-mode/)
It will wipe your phone clean. If after that it don't work right, you better get your phone to warranty.
Same thing happened to me after changing default USB behaviour in developer settings.
Once I set it to file transfer, my phone rebooted as soon as I put the USB cable in.
It went to a bootloop a couple of times before it booted up to lock screen, but it rebooted again once I entered my lock pattern.
Only way to solve it was to factory reset
Moto is aware of the problem and working on it afaik.
Hopefully it will be fixed with the next update.

I was wrong... It tried with other launchers, same problema. I've read that some phones with problem in the fingerprint sensor have this behaivor. As soon as you add fingerprint as the unlock option, It may reboot randomly or when you try to unlock.
I've wiped It again and confirmed this behavior on mine. I'm going after warranty on monday.

I've made new tests on my Motorola One Vision... That's the problem. As soon as you set the default USB mode to file transfer, my phone starts to reboot even without plugging in the USB cable...
I've wiped it clean, started with the bare minimum, just logged on Google Play Store. I activated the default USB mode to "File Transfer" on the Dev Options.... With no lock option, it works OK. As soon as you set ANY locking method (pin, pattern, fingerprint) it reboots when you try to unlock the phone...
Seems like the only way to solve it is to keep the default USB mode unchaged.

You disabled only fingerprint? Are you using any other unlock method, or just swipe? Mine got into bootloop even if I add a pattern.
when device restart swipe down status bar press setings then unlock and remove fingerprint
After you have changed the default USB mode to "transfer" on the Developer Options, you cant do that. If you have any sort of lock in place that's different from "swipe to unlock", your phone will reboot on any try to unlock it, even if you try to get to settings (it will ask to unlock, then when you try, it reboots).
If you get into the "bootloop", the only way to get out of it is to enter recovery and wipe the phone. The only way to avoid the bootloop is to a) don't change default USB mode to "transfer" on Developer Option or b) only have "swipe to unlock" as the lock option.
If you set a) and anything different then b), you get stuck in bootloop.
I was sad because I'd need to make a hard reset on my phone after this bootloop but then I tried to start it connected in my PC through USB and then BAM it worked out, boots without restarting, it worked out for me, it should for yours too!
Just wanted to confirm, for all those falling foul of this little bug, that Riverm4n's previous advice does indeed work. And saves the heartache of a full system reset..
Just wanted to clarify the guidance a little..
So with the phone on, and on the lockscreen, plug into your PC.
Let Windows do it's driver install thing of it's the first time it's been plugged in..
Then type in your unlock code on the phone..
Potentially could still go into the reboot again, just leave it plugged into your PC and the next time the phone comes on typing your unlock code in should see it unlock without rebooting!!
Don't forget to disable the developer settings or change the usb thing back!!!

Yeah the problem is because is enable fingerprint and default USB configuration was changed.
Just like to thank OP for this - just received a new Vision - & while setting up I had enabled Developer mode mainly due to problem with PC not seeing phone & 1 tip I read was for 'USB Debugging' to be switched on
- while in that menu I decided to force USB file transfer over 'cos of the annoyance having to select it each time I plugged phone in to transfer some pics/doc etc over
Next time I picked up phone it was in boot-loop & I thought it was broken ... PANIC STATIONS !!!!
Factory reset fixed it
- & since being new phone I didn't lose too much of the stuff I had been reinstalling/replacing (which were mainly apps to replace missing 'functions' I had on old phone such as a 'repeat notification/flash camera LED' if unread)
Did lose some game progress on a couple of games I have/had, which is annoying (wish we had a APK Data backup that didn't need root & which isn't Helium since that seems pretty unstable for me atm but then again it's not been updated for a while) but I think I can live with that
Once again thanks
Well, happened to me. I certainly wanted to avoid factory reset. It's a known bug being reviewed by Motorola/Lenovo. Happens when you change the USB connection default action in developer mode and you have any sort of screen lock.
Here is what I did to avoid factory reset, I had fingerprint lock with code.
1. After boot you get to screen lock. I you try to unlock with the code it reboots.
2. In that code enter screen, use a finger not enrolled. You'll see a message that fingerprint was not recognized.
3. Enter now your code and the device won't reset this time.
4. Go to developer options and rollback the USB default action to "no data transfer".
or
1. Factory reset
or
1. Wait for a ROM update
or
1. Return the device to seller and get another one

PIN pad OK button greyed out?

Hey guys,
I'm hoping to tap into the minds of those who get crafty with Android. This is my last resort, I don't know what else to do.
I'm wondering if it makes sense to you guys that deleting an entry in the mobile Active Sync window of a user's exchange mailbox would disable the OK button on the PIN pad of an Android device?
Here's our situation: a user comes to see IT because his Outlook(app on Android) profile was disconnected and after having tried to enter the correct credentials many times and not be able to login, we decided to remove his device from the exchange Active Sync mobile menu of his user mailbox in exchange. Afterwards, we still weren't able to add his account in the Outlook app, so we figured, let's just reboot the phone. We couldn't simply reboot the phone because the OK button on the PIN pad was greyed out. So this device being a Samsung A50, we simulated a battery disconnect with the phone keys and when the devices boots up, we're not able to get past the login screen because we still can't press the OK button that is greyed out.
We do manage our cellphones with an MDM but it's not able to connect because we aren't past the login screen. It's my understanding that the OK button lights up when numbers are being entered on the PIN pad, but in our case, it just stays gray as we're typing the password.
Would there be a way to install a custom ROM on the phone and have access to the user's images? We have his PIN, we just can't press the OK button.
turns out... user was typing the wrong password :x
He figured it out a week later

Fingerprint

I have unlocked my lg velvet bootloader (g910hm) its the 4g model. And after doing that my fingerprint scanner stop working. So i tried to relock the bootloader but i cant even enter to bootloader mode in my device! Every time i tried it shows me a sing that i have to relock and restarts my phone. Can anyone help me? Because i want to use my fingerprint sensor again with or without the bootloader
Fixing your fingerprint reader
After the bootloader unlock, you will no longer be able to register fingerprints. This can be fixed using the following steps:
Launch the hidden service menu by dialing #*462633*#910# (might require an inserted SIM card)
SVC Menu -> Handprint -> HandID Logging "ON"
Go to the start of the menu and then navigate to "Device Test" -> SAAT -> Manual Test -> Optical FingerPrint Test
Press SEVERAL times firmly on the green button until it says FAILED, confirm and exit the menu
Go to settings and set up your fingerprints!
AFAIK, you can now disable "HandID Logging" again

AFAIK, you can now disable "HandID Logging" again

sry for late reply (i dont check my mails). I actually ran into the same issue forcing me to do this what I wrote every 2 hours. I actually have no clue whats the problem and switched to a new phone. I can only recommend to root with magisk again and use all the plugins recommended there. I hope ur reader then works again.
