[solved] Time frozen on taskbar - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

PX5, Android 10, 4gb ram, 64gb with malaysk mod.
The system time is fine and is displaying correctly in settings and on a clock widget on the launcher, however the time in the top bar is frozen and won't change. If I go to the time settings screen and change it from automatic to manual it updates, but won't update on its own. Any ideas?

The solution to fix this was to disable the GPS time setting

Time desync between system and widgets.

it's happened quite a few times now with various weather/clock widgets (Simi Clock, Beweather, Beautiful Widgets Clock Weather) that they show a different time than what Android shows in the status bar.
Just now, the BeWeather weather clock widget has gotten stuck at 18.38. I can fix this with a reboot but it's annoying and I don't want to have to keep rebooting.
Any ideas?
hey there !
it sounds like you've either supercharced your phone or check the option of "lock homescreen in memroy".
the first one is a script that you can run and makes you save the home screen as-is.
either way there's an option to disable it to stop the "supercharge" nor uncheck the option on rom settings.

[Q] Vanishing Widgets with JB

Hi,
Just got HTC One X today and immediately updated to JB. After installing my apps and setting it up, I noticed that certain widgets would disappear from my home screen (Nova Launcher) and from lock screen (WidgetLocker). Only certain widgets - Battery Widget Reborn, Power Toggles, Smooth Calendar. After a reboot, they show up as grey boxes and I would have to tap and setup the widget again. Also noticed that SwiftKey would no longer be set as default keyboard and I would have to disable/re-enable to be able to choose it again.
Messed around and it's the same behavior with the stock launcher but with that, they the widgets just disappear altogether.
I did a system erase and pretty much nothing installed, same behavior. I've played with every setting to see if that had an effect but no different.
Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what's going on?
Thanks in advance.

Weather widget not adjusting clock for daylight savings

The weather widget is not showing the right time. My system time updated for DST, but the widget will not.
I tried:
Restarting phone
Setting/unsetting "use location" in app settings
Removing and replacing app
Setting/unsetting automatic DST in phone Date/Time settings
Probably other things too.
The phone updated the time, but the app doesn't. The lock screen uses the system time, and the clock is in the same position, so when I unlock the phone it looks like the time skips ahead and hour.
Any help is appreciated.
Working now
It took half a day, but it just started working correctly. I didn't change anything. Strange. Maybe a manual refresh of the widget doesn't sync the clock, only the set periodic update?
Turn on locations.

system ui tuner

Hi guys.
Just updated my galaxy s7 to android 7.0 nougat.
For some reason the alarm icon is constantly displayed in the notification bar.
How do I get rid of it?
I have heard about system ui tuner.
It should allow me to remove the icon. But I can't enable ui tuner.
I have hold down on the settings icon for 10 seconds. It still doesn't show up.
Please help. Thanks.
Deleted all alarms even if they are not active?
No I haven't deleted them. I need them. I just don't need to be reminded that I have alarms active.
Before I updated android the icon would first appear some time before the alarm went off.
Can't remember exactly how long before, let's say an hour.
Yea I noticed the icon stays there as long as you have alarms set, even if none are due

i use this program and get rid of the nfc icon too it works great
Had a play about with the alarms today, and as long as they are switched off (They can still remain set) then the icon disappears
Only when they are turned on, even if the time and date has passed, the icon will show

How to get rid of annoying Running in the Background icon ?

I just got the Oreo update C636 and Emui 8.0.0.366. All fine so far, except that an annoying icon comes up in the top-left corner. When I pull it down, it complains about an application "running in the background". How can I get rid of this icon ?
The application in question is World Clock Widget 2018. If I stop it altogether, the icon disappears, but the clock widget stops updating itself. I understand the motivation for the icon: background apps consume power. But this is just a clock, so I'm happy to let it run in the background. Battery life is great, 48+ hours.
I attach two screen dumps.
BTW, I can't access this Xda Forum from Chrome any more. The page opens normally, but then a second later a blank overlay comes up. I'm writing this from MS-Edge (yukk!)
You can use an app on the Play Store. This is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iboalali.sysnotifsnooze
thanks, it works. Apparently, the issue affects other Androids as well, not just Emui.
Settings > Apps & Notifications > Apps > More > Show system processes > Android System > Notifications > Apps running in background > switch off.
