it's happened quite a few times now with various weather/clock widgets (Simi Clock, Beweather, Beautiful Widgets Clock Weather) that they show a different time than what Android shows in the status bar.
Just now, the BeWeather weather clock widget has gotten stuck at 18.38. I can fix this with a reboot but it's annoying and I don't want to have to keep rebooting.
Any ideas?
hey there !
it sounds like you've either supercharced your phone or check the option of "lock homescreen in memroy".
the first one is a script that you can run and makes you save the home screen as-is.
either way there's an option to disable it to stop the "supercharge" nor uncheck the option on rom settings.

anyone noticed an issue with these two? havent quite figured out who's at fault, but here's the deal...
when you're in adw and you try to add a weather/toggle widget, adw will normally ask you to confirm the widget size, well, weather widget goes right into setup never allowing you to set the size and so it never triggers the widget... vicious loop everytime you try to add, works fine with beautiful widgets... and weather n toggle used to work fine too, but there's been quite a few updates lately...
any thoughts on this?
It works fine for me. All you do is add the widget, configure all the settings in window that pops up, then press back and it will take you back to the home screen with the floating resizing window.
How do you tunr the sound off for the homescreen weather?
I have gone into the weather and chosen to dissable sound effect but whenever the weather updates on the homescreen the sound is back!
Any Ideas?
Edit:
Should added this is a vodafone branded device
+1 for answer. annoying me, too.

Took me a while to work that out.
When you are in the live wallpaper selection screen, scroll to the weather wallpaper, hit "preview" and then you will find a "settings" button. Low and behold there is a tickbox to turn the sound off.
Out of interest, do you find that the weather live wallpaper (and in fact all live wallpapers) reduce the framerate of the carousel after a while. It seems fine to start with but then slows things down. I would really like to use the weather wallpaper but low frame rates annoy me - as it makes the phone look slow when I am showing it off.
Thanks for the solution, been annoying me since I got the thing. Now just need to solve the car dock issues
You cold just open weather app, go to settings, untick last option .
Thanks freco, but that does not work. If you have weather background set the only way to get rid of the sound effectst is via the background/preview/ settings.
The easiest way to do it is to remove the clock widget from the homescreen and then add it back. When you add the clock widget back to the homescreen it will give you the option for the weather animation and sound. I would just remove the animation all together. There really is no point to it and its using precious resources.

Has anyone run across an alternative weather sound set for the Sensation?
The "Sunny Day" sound effect is almost as annoying as fingernails on a
chalkboard to me. The rest are ok.
Even if you happen to know the name of the file and it's location would be
helpful (I could try deleting that sound alone and cross fingers that it doesn't
eff up forcing me to reflash).
Thanks.
Hi,
Just got HTC One X today and immediately updated to JB. After installing my apps and setting it up, I noticed that certain widgets would disappear from my home screen (Nova Launcher) and from lock screen (WidgetLocker). Only certain widgets - Battery Widget Reborn, Power Toggles, Smooth Calendar. After a reboot, they show up as grey boxes and I would have to tap and setup the widget again. Also noticed that SwiftKey would no longer be set as default keyboard and I would have to disable/re-enable to be able to choose it again.
Messed around and it's the same behavior with the stock launcher but with that, they the widgets just disappear altogether.
I did a system erase and pretty much nothing installed, same behavior. I've played with every setting to see if that had an effect but no different.
Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what's going on?
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
Has anyone figured out how to get the Google current weather to show up as a notification on the Lollipop lockscreen? I would like to see it there on top all the time.

In google now options activate weather for your location. Then on lock screen pull down as if expanding notifications and it should pop up.
Good luck.
In Google Now, "Interested in weather updates for your location?" is set to Yes. On the lockscreen, there is nothing to pull down. The clock and date are in the center of the lockscreen and when I swip down, they just pulsate once.

Sorry bare with me. I managed to get it there but once swiped away it disappeared. Think it must have just been a notification thing. Sorry. I use beautiful widgets from play store for mine. I know its not what your after but its an alternative.
I just got it once here also. I tapped on it and it opened Google Now. Now it is gone from the lockscreen again. I guess once it is there...you can't tap it. I used Beautiful Widgets before and also DashClock but the weather was different with those since they don't use the same provider as Google Now. It was a notification that I had since Lollipop doesn't support lockscreen widgets that I know of.
How are you keeping the Beautiful Widgets on your lockscreen? Is it a notification?
Google now weather
I have also experienced the disappearing Google Now 'current weather' notification in lockscreen on both my nexus 5 devices. It showed up on the lockscreen one time after pulling down on the time but after unlocking my screen and relocking the device i have never been able to replicate the weather notification
The notification has come back on mine. If you swipe it away or reboot your phone, it seems to come back sometime within the next hour or so.
I use 1weather it's good for me
So I have a daily recurring event set up to remind me to do something every day. In the morning when the notification pops up I always just dismiss it. What's weird is that on the ambient display, the event still shows until the event time has passed (8am). It shows even after I've dismissed the reminder. I have no idea why this is happening. Any thoughts?
I noticed this last night. I believe you can long press on the Date/Weather widget > preferences > uncheck the option(s). I just changed mine this morning so I can't confirm but I think that'll change it.
i'm not sure which widget you're referring to. i don't have any on my home screen.

It's the default date and weather widget on the default pixel launcher at the top of the home screen.

Correct, guessing you can access the setting somewhere else but that is the only place I am familiar with.
You can get to that sub menu from the main launcher settings too. And if you're using a 3rd party launcher, you'd have to temporarily change your launcher back to stock pixel launcher to get to those settings
