Question Where to buy without global rom installed? - ASUS ROG Phone 5 / 5s

Since apparently if it comes with a global rom you can't unlock the bootloader, I'd like to know where did the people who are currently rooted and bootloader unlocked purchase theirs from. A link would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone?

I bought mine from JD, needed to use google translate to make it through.
JD.com

I got one from AliExpress with global rom still waiting for it to arrive 16gb ram 256gb.

You can by it at Giztop. Just PM them that you don't want them to change the rom to global

Yes. When I brought my Rog phone 5 from them I ask them to not flash the global rom on it and they complied with no issue. It arrived to me with CN rom still installed.

Side note what carrier do you have it on?
Cricket (ATT). Currently on 9.0.0.184. SIM is in my note 9 atm. Didn't think that would matter.

With the help of @VeNuMuS, we enabled the VoLTE toggle for ATT
I got a 460 mb OTA in India just now. Not sure why it is a full ROM in your case.
Got same as above - a patch with 2 updates and changelogs.
Is this really only security updates while other regions are getting bugfixes and stability updates?

First off you need root access. Do you have root?

No root on this device. Is there a mate 20 x rooting thread I missed? I don't want to take this one too far ot.
I know it all starts with boot loader unlock. I didn't mind dropping 20 for a honor note 10 code, but the current price / availability for 20 x isn't worth it. Perhaps you can start a root thread with your details?

Root has been available since about a month after I got my hands on the phone. Bootloader unlock was able to be done with the .172 update.
22$ for unlock code and 2 days.
Now, not even sure it's possible to get a code.

MsmDownloadTool hunting

Is it time to start guessing what the URL on https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/ will be?
My best guess was https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7P/guacamole_21.O.07_190512.rar but no luck.
Edit: Found the EU one! https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/guacamole_21_E.08_190515.rar
OnePlus is definitely using this as the root directory: https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/
Does this mean we can unlock the T-Mobile variant with this?

Yes, this program will literally transform the T-Mobile variant into the international version you can buy from OnePlus directly. There is literally no difference between the two, you get the same OTAs as international version just as if you bought it from OnePlus

Has a password, though.
But now we know the filename. This one is apparently for 9.5.4 on the EU model (GM1913). Can't find one for the other builds. Maybe it works for US/Global/India.

U should have no issues with OTA, the tool turns ur phone back to as it was in the box, it relock bootloader, u roots and stock recovery, now there are some out there that could be modded to not delete userdata and no relock bootloader which means no incremental OTAs

No but we can at least unlock the bootloader on the T-Mobile version
Permanent SIM unlock can probably be done with fastboot commands after a bootloader unlock.
I should have the US (OnePlus Store, not T-Mobile) MSMdownloadtool tomorrow, with the password. Stay tuned on that front.

Thats only thing I want.
I wont have the tMobile one im in the UK and getting 5G variant and it might be sim locked but want to unlock bootloader and not wait 6 months before they give me unlock code.
I just called OP for the literally the 10th time today.
I told them I don't care about my warranty.. I just want the msm tool and unlock. Bin generator. They said that their technical support team is working on it. They also said they will be sending me an email with either the link for the MSM tool either today or tomorrow.
I doubt they will just give a token generator out but once we Hve our hands on the msm tool. We can sort some things out.

Convert T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro to Unlocked/International

I purchased a OnePlus 7 Pro from tmobile. I already have it paid off and permanently unlocked. I can OEM unlock in developer settings my phone. Is there any way to convert the software to the unlocked model like we could do on the OnePlus 6T?

Not long, week or two, then my theory is the patched_factory exe will work with it. Hence utilize the same exploit. We can still copy the same exe to every new msm tool version and it works so long as u erase your modemst1 and modemst2 partitions as they are your simlock...

Last time it did take a few weeks and I bought a TMobile version as well. Getting alot of pish back on unlock so I'm returning and already ordered direct from OnePlus.
I should have learned my lesson last time but I NEEDED it on launch day lol. Id rather not deal with the software update process. ALSO it's 100$ cheaper or so after student discount and no tax

msm coverion tool for converting the TMobile oneplus 7 pro to international software.

Is there a msm tool kit like on the oneplus 6t TMobile where it converted the oneplus 6t to international software. Really need it now I broker my phone and it keeps going off

If your bootloader is locked what happened that it won't boot? You can't flash anything to a locked bootloader.

Are you sure it's not just in download mode (I think that's what it is called)? I had it happened on my 6t, I thought it was toast but it was just in that mode.
Try holding volume down and power 10 to 20 seconds and if that doesn't work try holding volume up and power. Try different combinations of the buttons.
If it vibrates after any of these combinations try to power it up normally.

Global Version vs CN w/ Global Rom

Hi guys, I have a question. I'm planning to buy an op7, what is the difference between the Global Version and CN w/ Global Rom?
Is there any, other than the charger/plug?
Thanks in advance!
Warranty and maybe network? You might need to perform minor tweak in order to have VoLTE & VoWIFI.

I really don't care about warranty, I void it on the first day anyway. If there is really no major difference, then there's no need for me to get the more expensive global version with eu plug that doesn't work without an adoptor in my country. ???
Jus flash the EU ROM on the phone when you get it
