Hi guys, I have a question. I'm planning to buy an op7, what is the difference between the Global Version and CN w/ Global Rom?
Is there any, other than the charger/plug?
Thanks in advance!
Warranty and maybe network? You might need to perform minor tweak in order to have VoLTE & VoWIFI.

I really don't care about warranty, I void it on the first day anyway. If there is really no major difference, then there's no need for me to get the more expensive global version with eu plug that doesn't work without an adoptor in my country. ???
Jus flash the EU ROM on the phone when you get it

Just get it then. I'm also using CN version at the moment, no problem so far except for I need to enable the VoLTE manually. In conclusion, I dont think there's major difference between the two.

I use the CN version as well and have no problem with it. It came with oxygen on it.

AFAIK Oneplus is one of the few smartphone manufacturers that do not void warranty if you unlock the bootloader. That's one of the reasons I'm purchasing one every year

Hi guys
I recently acquired an Xperia XZ, and ive had a few phones in my time, predominantly HTC, and Samsung.
My phone is 3UK branded, and i can see from the XperiFirm that UK custom is available to flash (3UK are terribly slow at updating their handsets)
Now i understand flashtool isnt ready yet for 7.0, but, is there anything stopping me from using the Customized UK at all? Does it de-brand the phone? wold be nice to remove all the bloatware, whilst remaining unrooted (as yes i use Android Pay and Pokemon Go lol)
Any advice would be great!
Thanks

Flash the customised UK one with flashtool then you will get the OTA.
I am with 3UK as well, but I can hang on for the update....

There will be no carrier stuff on the FTF, but there is not much on the 3 UK one anyway.
There is no risk of anything like losing DRM as that can only happen if you unlock the bootloader

Thanks. I guess I will just flash the Central Europe firmware then. why is everyone using the UK one, any advantage?
I want to unlock bootloader before i start using view 10 permanently as unlocking bootloader wipes data. So i wanted to know does unlocking bootloader stops view 10 from receiving ota updates too. Pls help
No, if only unlock it you will still receive OTA updates.
Once you flash TWRP or a custom rom you won't get them any more

Thanx bro cause someone was saying that after unlocking bootloader he received update but then after flashing the update his update option went away. He says no matter whatever update now he flashes, he still remains on his previous version. So wanted to confirm this
Btw what is the command to relock bootloader

No idea about that, I was only n stock long enough to get one update lol. Now I'm on a custom rom so I won't get them any more anyway
But from all I know the bootloader unlock has absolutely nothing to do with updates, only flashing a custom recovery or rom will stop them.

Yes it was - unlocking was the 1st thing I did
I wouldn't worry about it anyway - if all else fails you can just re-lock the bootloader again. Or do what I did, ditch Emui and use a nice OpenKirin custom rom

Wow this huawei is surely problematic. In snapdragon i remember i had a mobile which didn't even had volte but the devs made it available by patching the modems. And here even after 2 years of it kirin is giving so many problems.
I need volte so bye bye custom roms:crying::crying:

Volte is getting the next biggest thing in india. Last year this time only 1 service provider provided it but in 6months or so every provider will have it running in the whole country so volte is kinda important to use now

Is it time to start guessing what the URL on https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/ will be?
My best guess was https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7P/guacamole_21.O.07_190512.rar but no luck.
Edit: Found the EU one! https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/guacamole_21_E.08_190515.rar
OnePlus is definitely using this as the root directory: https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/
Does this mean we can unlock the T-Mobile variant with this?

Yes, this program will literally transform the T-Mobile variant into the international version you can buy from OnePlus directly. There is literally no difference between the two, you get the same OTAs as international version just as if you bought it from OnePlus

But now we know the filename. This one is apparently for 9.5.4 on the EU model (GM1913). Can't find one for the other builds. Maybe it works for US/Global/India.

I believe the 6t tmobile version after the conversion could get over the air update. U have to.inject the updates manually. Quote me if im wrong but that was one of thw reason why i didnt convert my 6t.

U should have no issues with OTA, the tool turns ur phone back to as it was in the box, it relock bootloader, u roots and stock recovery, now there are some out there that could be modded to not delete userdata and no relock bootloader which means no incremental OTAs

No but we can at least unlock the bootloader on the T-Mobile version
Permanent SIM unlock can probably be done with fastboot commands after a bootloader unlock.
I should have the US (OnePlus Store, not T-Mobile) MSMdownloadtool tomorrow, with the password. Stay tuned on that front.

Thats only thing I want.
I wont have the tMobile one im in the UK and getting 5G variant and it might be sim locked but want to unlock bootloader and not wait 6 months before they give me unlock code.
I just called OP for the literally the 10th time today.
I told them I don't care about my warranty.. I just want the msm tool and unlock. Bin generator. They said that their technical support team is working on it. They also said they will be sending me an email with either the link for the MSM tool either today or tomorrow.
I doubt they will just give a token generator out but once we Hve our hands on the msm tool. We can sort some things out.
So... I have sim unlock, received bootloader unlock code from one plus... now what? From what I have read, I am able to root the stock firmware with Magisk.
If I want to go the custom rom route, it looks like a majority of the roms are based on international version and I need to convert to international first.
I did hear the TMO firmware is optimized for their Network for volte and wifi calling, so if I do change to international, what will be the advantages/disadvantages?
Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
I'm using the int version of the OP7P with a TMO US Sim and cannot report any problems, VoLTE and VoWifi do work.
I think @joemossjr found there may be a LTE band priority difference between international and T-Mobile specific ROMs. TBH, I stick to an official T-Mobile ROM primarily because I want to get the best possible performance on T-Mobile's network.
I'm on T-Mobile, but have a rooted international rom installed. VoLTE and VoWifi ALWAYS work without issues.

So what's the advantage for a rooted international rom vs a rooted tmo rom?
My understanding is that most of the custom ROMs available are based off that version, but if I stay stock and rooted, other than updates coming faster, would there be any reason to do the conversion?

Well, the international rom comes straight from oneplus, so it won't be over bloated with T-Mobile background apps. Won't have the magneta boot screen. Of course these things can be delt with in a rooted tmobile rom version. So mainly quicker updates (fixes).
Thanks for the feedback. I know the international version is way more popular than tmo, so the conversion is inevitable. Maybe someone will be able to work some magic and be able to help us figure out what the tmo optimizations are and have some kind of patch we can zip with twrp.

That would be awesome! But yeah, I'd like to know if there's a huge difference in the mobile data or whatever compared to the T-Mobile rom as well.
Anyone know? I'm just wondering if the only advantage using the T-Mobile rom over the International one is better Volte and Vowifi? Or are they pretty much the same?
Using the int version (bought it to avoid the unlock and reflash hassl, return the TMO OP7P.to the TMO shop after I found out after having asked when buying) with US and DE TMO sims, I did not find any issues. The OP7P finally supports VoLTE and VoWiFi with German TMO which the OP6 did not.
The only thing I've noticed so far running International on T-Mobile is a couple times I've lost signal completely and I'll get two SIM card symbols in my staus bar until I reboot. Otherwise it's been perfect.
I'm on TMO, bootloader unlock, rooted with twrp installed, for some reasons i can't install adaway it says not enough storage. I have plenty of storage like 230G. Can't find any answer as to why.
