Convert T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro to Unlocked/International - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I purchased a OnePlus 7 Pro from tmobile. I already have it paid off and permanently unlocked. I can OEM unlock in developer settings my phone. Is there any way to convert the software to the unlocked model like we could do on the OnePlus 6T?

Not long, week or two, then my theory is the patched_factory exe will work with it. Hence utilize the same exploit. We can still copy the same exe to every new msm tool version and it works so long as u erase your modemst1 and modemst2 partitions as they are your simlock...

As of right now, it looks like the devs are still in the kitchen. I'm sure that everything will start coming out once things start to get completed.

Last time it did take a few weeks and I bought a TMobile version as well. Getting alot of pish back on unlock so I'm returning and already ordered direct from OnePlus.
I should have learned my lesson last time but I NEEDED it on launch day lol. Id rather not deal with the software update process. ALSO it's 100$ cheaper or so after student discount and no tax

Also if you paid off why didn't u go direct with OnePlus?

Kind of like you, I couldn't wait, plus I bought this grey one from T-Mobile and ordered a 12gb blue one from OnePlus. My plan is just to keep the color I like better and return sell the other.

I wanted to.order the 12gb but TMobile only gives 14 days to return. Didn't want to take the chance of missing the return window. 8gb is enuff(gotta keep telling myself that)

So if my phone is already unlocked with tmobile and i can enable OEM unlock in developer options, can i convert the phone to international?
Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk

I can stay stock for 40 days then do the SIM unlock through TMobile, development will be well under way at that point and OOS is just fine
Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk

I think by Friday we should be able to covert to global oxygen os

Once the tool is released yep.

More than likely as I doubt there's going to be a workaround for a locked bootloader at the same time.

Is it time to start guessing what the URL on https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/ will be?
My best guess was https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7P/guacamole_21.O.07_190512.rar but no luck.
Edit: Found the EU one! https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/guacamole_21_E.08_190515.rar
OnePlus is definitely using this as the root directory: https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/OP7Pro/

Yes, this program will literally transform the T-Mobile variant into the international version you can buy from OnePlus directly. There is literally no difference between the two, you get the same OTAs as international version just as if you bought it from OnePlus

Has a password, though.
But now we know the filename. This one is apparently for 9.5.4 on the EU model (GM1913). Can't find one for the other builds. Maybe it works for US/Global/India.

I believe the 6t tmobile version after the conversion could get over the air update. U have to.inject the updates manually. Quote me if im wrong but that was one of thw reason why i didnt convert my 6t.

U should have no issues with OTA, the tool turns ur phone back to as it was in the box, it relock bootloader, u roots and stock recovery, now there are some out there that could be modded to not delete userdata and no relock bootloader which means no incremental OTAs

No but we can at least unlock the bootloader on the T-Mobile version
Permanent SIM unlock can probably be done with fastboot commands after a bootloader unlock.
I should have the US (OnePlus Store, not T-Mobile) MSMdownloadtool tomorrow, with the password. Stay tuned on that front.

I wont have the tMobile one im in the UK and getting 5G variant and it might be sim locked but want to unlock bootloader and not wait 6 months before they give me unlock code.
I just called OP for the literally the 10th time today.
I told them I don't care about my warranty.. I just want the msm tool and unlock. Bin generator. They said that their technical support team is working on it. They also said they will be sending me an email with either the link for the MSM tool either today or tomorrow.
I doubt they will just give a token generator out but once we Hve our hands on the msm tool. We can sort some things out.

how do you convert from the TMobile ROM to the international ROM?

Title says all
Right now you can't. But it's being worked on. Patience is needed. As soon as it's achieved there will be a post about it.

What? If you have a T-Mobile branded 7 Pro and use the Msm tool to convert you don't need the token right? I understand we are still waiting on the tool to come out, but you said you are getting your token soon and you would only use that to unlock the bootloader on the T-Mobile firmware.

Gotcha, I'm on the same page now.
Coming from the experience of the support for the 6t its only a matter time before the same tool is released for 7 pro.. I don't see the need to get it unlocked through tmobile and or token, just wait for the conversion tool.. It will be here sooner than you think..

If your bootloader is locked what happened that it won't boot? You can't flash anything to a locked bootloader.

Are you sure it's not just in download mode (I think that's what it is called)? I had it happened on my 6t, I thought it was toast but it was just in that mode.
Try holding volume down and power 10 to 20 seconds and if that doesn't work try holding volume up and power. Try different combinations of the buttons.
If it vibrates after any of these combinations try to power it up normally.

All Verizon phones, including the Google phones are bootloader locked and are not unlockable. Verizon does not want to sell unlockable phones and has not done so for some time.
The only chance is if someone finds a hack to get it done. There are threads here where those efforts are talked about, there has not been my any real progress. If you want an unlockable bootloader you need to by the pure Google Store version.

t-mobile's 8T+, root, and (future) roms

I see there are already rooting/unlocking bootloader instructions for the regular 8T. is there any reason I should hesitate before buying the 8T+?
my main concern is (future) 8T roms may not work on 8T+. but in general, seems like most OnePlus phones eventually get official LineageOS. so should I not worry about it?
obviously it'll be some time before roms are available regardless - that's fine. I'm more thinking about 2 years down the road.

Thats for sim unlock. There's no time requirement listed for the bootloader. Only need the sim unlocked prior. So if tforce is willing to whitelist the imei (which it sounds like they usually do if your nice about it) then it should be possible. It can take 2 days to get the unlock file but thats better than 2 years to pay off the device.
