I've successfully installed Google Dialer from APK Mirror, it even updates using Play Store (now I'm on version 14.0.176716531) I gave it all permissions, set up as default call app and it works almost flawlessly. Almost, because there is few second ringtone delay on incoming call, maybe 3-4 second. Not really deal breaker for me but annoying thing.
Anyone faced with such problem?
Does your in-call time counter works normally? Mine displays millions of minutes...
Thanks! & Some Help...
Hi Rufik,
That was very helpful. I got -- Google Phone 7.0.140861421-nonnexus (noarch) (nodpi) (Android 6.0+) -- from APKMirror. And it works great on my Huawei Mate 9 (L29) running OEM Android 7.0 from the factory.
One problem with Google Phone 7.0.140861421 is notification bubbles... sometimes they work and sometimes not. Any suggestions to get them to work?
Also, how were you able to get Google Phone 7.0.140861421 to upgrade to 14.0.176716531. I can not get past 7.0.140861421. I have tried newer Google Dialers/Phones and they will not install on my Mate 9. Any suggestions? What versions should I look for? Also, how were you able to get the Play Store OTA upgrade to the Google Phone? I have tried, but no success.
Best Regards,
Jim
Sorry for link, it points to old version 7.
Navigate to newest version 14 nodpi arm64 https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...le-phone-14-0-176716531-android-apk-download/ and install it.
Please let me know if it works fine, especially ringtone possible delay.
@N100GL You can also install v14 version but previous build, like https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-phone/google-phone-14-0-175904292-release/ and check if you can update from Play Store (do a restart after installation!).
Thanks - But Does Not Work
Thank youd for your quick reply and your help!
No don't be sorry -> Google Phone 7.0.140861421-nonnexus (noarch) (nodpi) (Android 6.0+) -> works just fine. The only issue is that it is old and the bubble alerts.
The other two link you listed above, do not install on my phone (Mate 9 L29 Android 7.0 factory OS). They get all the to the last step of installation and then it says "This app is not compatible with your phone." They start the installation process, and can see the Google Phone 7.0.140861421 already installed, they agree to do an update, but choke in the end.
Now the Google phone apps that I have been able to run on my phone are the "-nonnexus (noarch) (nodpi)" APK files. I have not been able to get any of the (arm64) or (arm) and (nodpi) to run on my phone. There seems to be something special with the "-nonnexus (noarch)" files, but I don't what it is.
Am I missing something? Should I try something else? Thanks in advance.
I remember that I flashed (TWRP) Google Dialer Support Framework from here according to this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-google-dialer-t3557412 (Workaround section). Give it a try and report please.
Thanks Rufik!
Actually, I found the same article last night and downloaded + installed the Google Phone APK 11.0.164102751 -- and it work great.
No problems what so ever... other than the lack of missed-call and voicemail notification bubbles. I have heard that this might be a Nougat problem, which is fixed in Oreo. I am using Nova Launcher and Tesla Unread, which is great for notification bubbles on every other application, except for Google Phone - which does not seem to display the bubbles. Google Phone used display (with and without Nova Launcher + Tesla Unread) the notification bubbles just fine, but not on version 7.xxxx or 11.xxxxx. Any thoughts or suggestions?
The only version I tried is v14. No problem with call log or missed calls. No problem with contacts also.
I suggest you to try v13 or v14 and give it all possible permissions. Older versions could have problems you described.
I don't care about bubbles edition, sorry.
Some idea - the ability to install Google Dialer form play store depends on Google Dialer Support Framework. Try to flash it (twrp), restart and check play store.

Yes, the same here. But I don't care about it. The only problem is ringtone delay for me, it forces me to drop Google Dialer and use stock one (that I don't like).
OK, it looks like after update to Oreo (8.0.0.361) delay is gone, Google Dialer v15 (patched, from xda) works fine for me
Edit: I've managed to flash Google Dialer Support Framework and then install Dialer from Play Store successfully. Framework is from Open GApps Android 8.0 ARM64 (pico edition), just repacked to my twrp flashable zip. Works only with Oreo (tested on my C432 8.0.0.361).
When we get Magisk working on Oreo then I'll make magisk module
Hi,
since I dont have Google APIs and no play store installed, I rely on 3rd party web sites like APKpure to obtain software like Firefox.
I noticed one thing, I downloaded Firefox latest stable version and on all platforms, APKmirror, APKpure and apps.evozi.com they all had different hash sums!
What service would you trust most?
Apps.evozi.com doesnt work any longer, APKmirror says they check signatures.
What do you say?
I dont want to mess with sensitive banking data and dont want modified software.
Thanks!!!
APKmirror and APKpure should be fine since they check developer's certificate so you know you don't download edited packages (unless private key would be stolen of course). No idea about Evozi since it does not allow me to download anything at the moment.
As for APK checksums, I compared Firefox Beta 85.0.0-beta.4 :
SHA1 cheksums for arm64-v8a from:
Google Play - f03f796410e5dfd46eb8da25851f81850011a2d4
APKmirror - 2aebaf058c30f5fe0ff61a3a2ec7676efa519479
APKpure - f03f796410e5dfd46eb8da25851f81850011a2d4
So APKmirror indeed differs but I think there are multiple versions even across same architecture. Signature is the same so personally I would trust both. APKmirror shows nodpi, but APKpure - 120-640dpi, maybe that's the difference?
Signature for GooglePlay, APKmirror and APKpure is the same - 920f4876a6a57b4a6a2f4ccaf65f7d29ce26ff2c (SHA1, manually checked with keytool.exe)
My recommendation: Use Yalp Store what is another unique app store. It uses Google Play Store APKs but you get them without the actual Google Play Store. You can search for, install, and update apps directly from the source and I quite like that.
More info here:
Yalp Store | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

I am using APKMIRROR for a while for distributing my apps to my customers. It works perfectly to show app updates to my customers. I understand how app update functionality works in devices via Google Play Store.
I am curious to know how the APK update works in APKMIRROR ? I really want to know how the technology works behind?
Thanks,
Kanak
Wondering why you ask this question here, and not ask APKMIRROR?

Hi guys, I live in Dubai and just received my Mi12s Ultra.
Such an amazing phone! I bought it from expansys and got the CN version with Google.
Previous phone was Samsung Note 20 Ultra which I decided to keep in case I have to switch back to it due to certain issues listed below (assume there are probably a lot more issues I haven't found out yet)
I noticed I can't seem to send videos on WhatsApp normally, videos have a terrible framerate. From a quick search it seems its a common issue unfortunately. Just wondering if there is any fix? If it helps anyone I noticed while testing that videos shot in 4k seem to improve the framerate when sending videos over WhatsApp but it's not a viable solution.
Also I cannot seem to install Google chrome so I'm forced to use Edge. Is there a way to install chrome?
Love the phone and the camera but these issues make me wonder if its worth keeping long term....
Would love to know your thoughts, thanks!
Chrome installs ok. If you can't get it through play store, try APK mirror or other non Google app.

i have an old motorola xoom, i downgraded back to honeycomb a while ago, i dont feel like upgrading it back to jellybean since its full of old games and genuinely a really comfy setup i have going.
I'd like to try and get youtube working on it even if its some kind of website, although an app would be preferable.
i know its kind of a weird ask, since this version of android is rather obscure and from what i can tell: nobody liked it. but i would like to put more use to this tablet than using it for escargot, imap email, or a desk clock has been my favorite so far.
thanks!
