Are there any apps or android head units that show your music album cover art VIA BLUETOOTH - MTCD Software Development

As the title says, most of my music is stored on my phone rather than a USB stick. It would be nice to see the album cover art when driving around.

AFAIK, non of PX* units could do that.
Below is technical details, if you're interested.
Bluetooth dongle is not directly connected to "core" PX module itself (e.g Android doesn't "see" bluetooth device) like for example WiFi dongle.
Instead, Bluetooth chip is connected via it's UART to onboard MCU, and it's Audio-L and Audio-R anaglo outputs to audio switching\muxing chip. MCU on the other hand, controls both BT module and audio switching chip, when commanded by PX core module with 'switch audio output to A2DP'.
That's why your phone get's automaticaly connected via A2DP, but you'll get no sound from it, unless you launch A2DP app (after launching an app, it commands MCU to route BT module sound outputs to the AMP and into the speakers)
You'll have better luck with smth like Android Auto \ Apple Carplay - it'll not only show you the album art, but also allows you to select tracks, playlist and more - depending on your music app of choice. (not to mention navigation, notifications and other stuff)

Bluetooth CAR radio with HTC TP

Did anyone try this? I'm thinking of buying a new radio WITH bluetooth..
IF the bluetooth radio stuff works, then tomtom/music could go via my HTC which would be awesome... or is it possible to play MP3's via an USB outlet, or have some auxout to my htc?
A few months ago, I bought a head unit (Dual XHD6425) that has front panel aux out, usb, and bluetooth. I originally got it for its 3.5 mm auxillary out for my ipod, but I then bought the add-on bluetooth module and started using my cellphone and now my Fuze. Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP) is much more convenient as there are no wires to deal with. The TF3D music program supports AVRC so you can use the unit's fast fwd/rewind/stop buttons to control playback. Tomtom also routes its audio through the bluetooth interface as well. Of course, you also get hands-free calling, which is great as I usually forget to put on or turn on my bluetooth headset when I enter my car.
My head unit could also play music from USB sources (name hard drives, etc, but strangely not ipods). The unit was able to read from the Fuze since it can mount itself as a storage drive providing access to the microsd card. However, in this mode, I'd have to scroll through songs using the unit's interface, which was not very easy to navigate. Still, I can use the USB port to charge/power devices if I needed to do so.
^^^Ditto what he said^^^
My Xterra has a Pioneer single din headunit with built-in Bluetooth. A2DP streaming works great, but sometimes sounds a little tinny or washed-out. If you have added a subwoofer to your vehicle then get a headunit with an independent subwoofer level control. Some songs will be very bassy, while others will need some added punch...this can be adjusted very easily especially with a remote-mount bass level knob.
You can also sync your contacts over to the BT headunits and set speed dials as well as picture dials in some cases. My Pioneer replacement will be a double din 7" touchscreen dvd player with BT. Make sure it has plenty of audio controls/adjustments...digital time correction is a nice feature to help balance sound and set stage.

how to use topaz in simulated usb ipod control

so I was listening to police scans on my topaz, when i realized that we lack something that could be very useful. What if an app simulated the USB headset on the topaz so that the car's headunit would let me transmit sound that way instead of an aux cable (similar to, and maybe emulating, ipod control mode). I think the main advantage would be that usb transmits a much higher quality and more channels than 2 channel aux, but also that it would let you select your music straight from the topaz instead of searching on my headunit (which is a pain in the ass to folder browse with)
any thoughts? something like this already exist?
edit - this is the best i could find, but im not talking about docking, just audio and charging (through software if possible)

edit2 - my headunit has a front USB port, that is what I intend to use

Audio Output as Phone Call

So my car allows me to connect my phone via bluetooth to the stereo to make phone calls, but does not allow me to connect media audio (Pandora, YouTube, etc), which I believe is called A2DP. There are some aftermarket kits available to wire in a new receiver in place of the CD changer, but then that co-opts the other bluetooth for phone, which I can control via steering wheel and such.
I was wondering if it is at all possible for an app to stream audio output as if it was a phone call? Is anyone aware of an app that does this or some way to possibly hack it?

Bluetooth audio in car

Hello
Did somebody come accross and and maybe can advise on the following issue?
The music from phone (mp3, flac) plays well in car audio only if phone screen is off, or home screen, or some simple app is on screen (for example aquarium live wallpaper).
Whenever any music player (Samsung, Google...) or navigation app is on screen, not to mention multi window, then bt audio starts skipping.
Tried all types of resetting / clearing / reconnecting... both on phone and car sides.
Change of screen resolution did not help.
In the meantime, in case of internet radio, youtube, IPTV bt audio is ok with these apps on screen.*
The car is Mercedes 2014 with Comand NTG 4.5. Also noticed that either it does not accept any bt codec other than SBC or I dont know how to properly set other codec in phone (it always reverts to SBC). Iphone 6s has no problem with this car.
Is it that S8+ is not powerful enough in terms of CPU, memory, video to handle the above basic car scenario?
Thank you

Wired AndroidAuto and sending audio through Bluetooth

I recently installed an after market AndroidAuto unit in my car, it is only available as a wired connection, which is fine. When I plug my device, the sound is routed through the USB (and from there to the unit's AUX interface) which sounds crappy.
My car's bluetooth stereo sounds much much better.
According to Google's site and some other sources, it is not possible to re-route the audio through Bluetooth.
Is there some kind of mod or an application (combined with root) that can actually work around this limitation?
