Hi everyone,
I bought a Poco X3 NFC, and it is supposed to be capable of 960fps video. The problem is the stock mi camera allows you to film only 4 seconds, of which only the last 1 second is actually in slow motion. This makes it basically impossible to actually film anything, either you are too early or too late.
I have two questions:
- With a different ROM or camera app, will it be possible to simply film video in 960 fps from start to finish, and to film longer than 4 seconds?
- Would it be possible to film with an intermediate speed, like 480 fps, which is not available in the stock software? Or is the hardware not actually capable of this?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks,
Joe
U can change it in camera settings.

No, sorry. I've given up on doing slow motion video. At least it still takes decent pictures... I'm on a custom ROM though so I don't know that the default apps would be like now.

Hello guys,
I recently bought and NO1 N3 phone, wich have 13 Mpx Back camera and 5 MPx Front camera.
Well, actualy, i seriously think that the manufactuers placed both cameras of 5 MPx.
That's true.
I tried several stuff, but the camera aplication is just showing a maxium of 5 MPx resolution, 1920 x 2840 i think, or near of that.
This is true for some apps like mobile uncle toos or Antutu, that reads device info. For antutu, both cameras for 4.9 Megapixels.

Trust me this is not from the ROM or Libs, something else like some bug or malfunction of the device.
All of my friends with the same phone, no problem, i never seen nothing like this before...
You may say something,

may be a factory data reset might help you
I used to get nearly 24 hours of battery life (sometimes less) on 1080p mode with moderate usage:
* around a couple of hours of games;
* couple of hours of browsing
* a few hours of 3g, but mostly on wifi
* moderate use of whatsapp, messaging and calls.
Now I decided to try out the 720p mode again, with a similar usage pattern, and the results are quite good:

I don't care too much for 720p. The battery lasts as long as I need it on 1080 and performance mode.

I really can't notice much difference visually between 720p and 1080p mode, though maybe that is just me (and my eyes are not exactly 20/20!)
I had taken two screenshots earlier, and I still can't discern a major difference, even after looking at them at full size:
You can see the 720p screen is a bit more blurry although I doubt you would notice it while looking directly onto the screen. But comparing the screenshoots directly side-to-side you can definitely notice it. The blue fading background makes it even easier to see.
I also try to use 1080p and switched to 720p and do not see the differences. Maybe someone who play game see the difference?
what would be your screen on time with 1080p and the usage pattern you said about?
Where can I set ROG technology?

I can't replicate this on mine.
Well, i have received an explanation from a bro, which have find the same situation. He just think that it related to brightness. When the sensor detect the brightness is enough, the 2X camera will run, if it detect brightness is not enough the camera will change to 1X camera. Sothat, when the light in a embarrassing situation(no brightness enough and also not realy dark) this issus will happen, two cameras switch and switch, realy quickly and also again here is a kind of explanation ,so am i.
Try video Pro

Yeah I see what you did there XD. Neat trick.
High light/contrast on the computer screen and no light on the Keyboard...you're asking for problems.
Have you tried using the Pro video app. That's going to get a better shot than the standard camera app.
While I can't possibly see the reason for attempting this kind of shot in low light conditions. I have sort or re-created it on mine but the camera wants to focus on where i hold my finger/thumb; which has next to no visual queues for the hardware/software to recognise so it will do what your are seeing.
I agree that the camera has become a little sluggish in 2X mode in low light. But to be honest I wouldn't have bothered until you posted this.
It's doing exaclty what I would expect it to do under the conditions.
Hello, I am interested in buying the P40 Pro. I know that the P40 pro shoots at 12.5 MP by default, but to do this, there is some upscaling. In theory this would result in worse pictures than the Mate 30 Pro. Would it be possible to shoot at a non-scaled resolution, such as 10mp as was the default of prior Huawei flagships, and prevent the upscaling? Thanks
There is no upscaling, there's downscaling.
Main camera provides 50 MP, just devide it by 4 - and you're at 12,5 MP.
So your fears about losses caused by upscaling are quite baseless.
Picture quality is real great, just the Pro mode is close to useless, yet.
Yep, P40P uses 4-in-1 pixel binning to output 12.5MP shots from its 50MP main sensor (50/4=12.5)
I was getting terrible photos versus my previous M30P but after all these firmware updates recently, can safely say it's much better now imo.
ignore post
Gsmarena just published the review on the P40 Pro +. The image from the primary is indeed cropped. Only when users shoot at 50mp or at .85 zoom, you can see the uncropped image. This means that the image is indeed being up-scaled by around 20 percent. I don't understand why they just didn't keep it at 10.5MP to prevent this upscaling. Some Huawei phones allow you to shoot at different MPs, does this phone allowed any other image sizes besides the 12.5mp and 50mp while still maintaining aspect ratio?

^Default 12.5mp images
Shot at .85 zoom which removes the crop.
Thanks so much!
. 85x zoom is not through their ultra wide sensor?

I don't think so, in any case, when you shoot a 1x zoom at 50mp, and then 1x zoom at 12.5mp, the 12.5mp image is still cropped. About 20% of the image is cropped off, that means Huawei is doing some upscaling. I don't care about the image being cropped, the edges of most cellphone cameras are pretty much crap anyways, but I don't think they should upscale it.
I just got T6R Max today and the built-in apps (Netflix, Prime, etc.) are showing way too bad image quality. I connected it to my pc and made some comparisons and pc was way better. However, still I don't think I am getting HDR image and it actually looks horrible.
It says SDR at the top left. There is an option called HDMI 2.0 and there are ''On'' ''Off'' ''Auto'' options. Can somebody explain what this option is for? My HDMI cable is KabelDirekt HDMI 2.0 18Gbit/s.
I don't know if it's supposed to show it but I can see ''No HDR'' in windows as well.
Here, I tried to show the difference. The first one is my PC monitor. The second one is T6R Max. You can see there is no detail whatsoever in the second photo. Darks are so dark. The colors are idk what to say... I tried to tweak the image a bit with the projection's options but it won't help.

I just downloaded an HDR film and put it in a usb. Tried to open it that way directly in the projector's OS. The difference is big. It is way better than what I am getting from my pc. However, I am still not sure If I am getting HDR10 content. I am a bit lost here.
1- How can I see If it is really showing HDR10?
2- Why can't I get HDR from my PC?
Edit - Day 2:
I bought Amazon Fire Sticks 4k Max today. There are good display options in that. Finally, I can see HDR text when I open it at the top left corner. However, the problem with blacks and colors is still there. So this is my conclusion: I think even though the projector supports HDR, its brightness (550 ANSI lumen) is not enough for HDR content. That is why there are no details in blacks and colors are not there. I chose adaptive HDR in the display setting and with a little bit of tweak I can see more now. There is an image quality loss, however.
But I think this is what you get with this price range I guess. If there is a way that I can improve the quality please let me know.
