Xiaomi call interruption issue? - General Questions and Answers

I have a Redmi Note 6 Pro that was working fine for the last 2.5yrs. About a month ago I started having problems during calls. Suddenly I can't hear the other person but they can hear me. I figured it was a problem with my speaker cuz my son(who has the same phone) said his was working fine. So 2 days ago I bought a Poco x3 nfc and the first call I made the same issue happened with the new phone. I tried making a call in safe mode and the same thing happened again. It's always that I can't hear them but they hear me. Then today my son told me his phone did the same thing several time while he was on a long calll. I have no clue what's causing it or how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Did you use a headset when making calls? Or was your phone in hands-free mode then?

No headset. It happens just talking oldschool holding the phone to my ear and it also happens when it's on speaker.

[Q] Incall sound disappeared...

Hello Everyone,
I have been using HTC Sensation for a good 3 months and no problem at all so far. The phone is rooed and uisng Insertcoin 2.4.1 Rom. 3 days ago while in a call, the sound faded away and since then there is some times sound coming from the ear piece sometimes not. Even the call starts succesfully loud and suddenly sound disappears. I have tried everything i know, reflashing, trying another Rom, formatting the SD card and not installing any software etc...During the call, i can communicate if i turn the speaker on or plug in the earphones. I belive that there is a bug that commands the phone to shut the earpiece and divert the sound either to speaker or the earphones.
Anyone ever has/had this kind of problem?
Thanks in advance!

Im having the same Problem, but i observed that the sound doesn't come back randomly, the earpiece speaker seems to shutdown a while after the display gets turned off due to the proximity sensor. I tried different ROMs, and got the same result, i guess it's a hardware problem. Would you tell me, if you get the exact same Problem, meaning you check if sound disappears when you're having it close to the head?
Thank you

Mic too low during Bluetooth calls

I'm having an issue with my Idol 3 5.5". It functions normally when in handset or speaker mode I can hear the other party and they can hear me, but when I connect to my car's Bluetooth people tell me they can't hear me or it sounds like the mic is far away and under water. I did not have this problem with my last phone so I do not believe the issue is with my car (it's a Grom unit) I have only had this phone for a couple weeks and have had the issue from the beginning.
I'm running 6.0.1 stock ROM build 7VAB-UEB0
So far I have tried:
turning off and on Bluetooth on my phone during or right before calls
unpairing and repairing my car
I am charging an old Bluetooth earpiece to try that today and make sure it isn't an issue with my car.
Anyone else have this issue and were you able to solve it?
Me too, dont know what to do

Not the same issue. That thread is talking about poor/low microphone when recording video. This thread is about poor microphone quality through bluetooth, which does not use the phone's microphone.
I'm still trying to determine what the issue is. I tried using an old bluetooth headset and the test call was fine so I will try it tomorrow while driving to confirm. It might be that the Idol doesn't like certain bt devices.

can't hear on speaker mode

hello everyone
I really frustrated. I just bought a second galaxy s7 with the same problem that my old one has.
when I talk on speaker mode the other side can't really hear me (cutting off). It's happened on both phones. I tried to change sim and even network provider with no luck. the phone work great in regular mode and even with my car speaker but not on speaker mode.
the first time that happened I took the phone 3 times to repair with no luck.
I think maybe its something to do with the noise cancelling mic but i'm not sure.
any help will be more than welcome!

Pixel 2 phone calls default to Loudspeaker

I'm having this issue, it defaults to loudspeaker 70% of the time, incoming and outgoing calls.
I need to tap the loudspeaker icon twice to disable it.
Factory reset done, clear Phone app cache done, reinstall updates on phone app done.
still no fix.
anyone having this issue as well?

Yes and it is quite irritating.
Hi, I have exactly the same problem.
Do you have a case on the phone? Perhaps it's detecting that you are in dock mode? Just throwing some things out there since it does not seem to be widespread.

I thought I was going crazy when I picked up a call it was super loud prior to putting it to my ear lol I have no case nor screen protector so this is a legit bug.
Interesting....just applied March update. I'll see if this remedies it.

March update did not fix it. It's getting really annoying
Time for an RMA. This can't be software related since very few are seeing it. Could be hardware so a different unit is in order. Good luck.

I'll bet this is happening to more people than we think. Very rarely do I chime in, I'm usually a lurker. But I figure I better say something because this problem has already happened to me twice today. It is really really frustrating. Especially for a device as expensive as this one.

RMA time??? Not on Verizon lol I don't use my phone to talk enough to justify getting an unlockable phone on RMA.
I'll deal with the occasional speakerphone pickup for the $50 I paid for the phone (well work paid) and having it unlocked/rooted etc

I'll bet it's not. The device has been out 6 months and I see 4 users with the problem out of thousands out there. If you don't want to RMA then there is no reason to complain especially if you paid 50 bucks. That's why they do RMA for instances like this. Manufacturing flaws happen, deal with it or replace the device

Guys, I think I found out what's causing this to happen.
The 3.5 audio adapter.
I did not plug in the adapter for 2 days, and the phone did not default to loudspeaker during phone calls.
But last night I plugged in and listen to music, after unplugging, the phone all go into loudspeaker again when phone calls are made/received. Restart the phone and now it never happened.
Gonna monitor few more days and update here.
OK, it is confirmed after using the audio adapter, the phone will definitely switched to loudspeaker mode during phone calls on default , it happens randomly and i would say 70 percent of the time.
its been the 5th day i did not plug in the audio adapter , all my phone calls are not defaulted to loudspeaker, and worked flawlessly.
Google team if you're seeing this, please make a fix to it!
I've had this issue a few times and I've never used the audio adapter. I did send Google feedback about it through the settings menu a couple of months ago, but I've never heard back from them. It's been a while since I've experienced this issue and for sure it's annoying when it happens. I thought it happened because of a previous phone call loudspeaker state. If you had the loudspeaker on on a previous call then the next call would also have the loudspeaker on when it shouldn't.

I still use the loudspeaker during phone calls, but at the next call, the phone does not default to loudspeaker.
I have been having two problems with my Pixel 2:
1) i cannot use a headset all the time for phone calls. I have to reboot the phone first then it's ok. I don't use the phone enough to have determined what has been done beforehand to cause this.
2) Sometimes the phone defaults to speaker phone for a phone call. Rebooting fixed it. I did use the headset the other day and then the past 2 calls were on speaker phone and tapping the speaker button did not change the setting.

Audio stops working randomly, Sometimes cant hear caller

Hello all,
Im facing with weird issue in my poco f2 pro, when im listeninng to music with my earphones and switch to next song, audio cracks for a split second and doesnt work anymore untill i unplug and replug my earphone or do a reboot, and somtimes when i recieve a phone call, i answer the call and i hear a similair audio crackling and then no more audio through the earpiece and i cant hear the callers voice through the earpiece although he can hear mine, the only fix is to reboot the phone and all the audio issues r solved untill it happens again.
sometimes i face this issue in 10 mins of use or in couple of hours.
i bought the phone 2 weeks ago, and i did factory reset today and the issue persisted through full factory reset.
phone model: poco f2 pro 128gb storage 6gb ram, Android 10 (QKQ1.191117.002), MIUI Global 12.02.0(QJKEUXM).
my phone is fully stock phone

Same issue here with my son's phone. Same hardware and software. (I couldn't describe more adequately). I suppose Xiaomi is trying to make phone somewhat "stereo" while watching a video in landscape mode just as they did with Poco X3 NFC but POCO F2 PRO Hardware didn't get along with. They would/should solve it with next update.
MIUI Global 12.02.0(QJKEUXM) is not the last update.
