Hey guys! This is Corcle, a launcher with a pointer support.
Main Idea was accessing apps as quickly as possible
I have realized I get familiar with icons of the apps and I can identify them after used them a while. That's why I crammed as many apps as possible into one screen and sorted them by most usage.
Also, I have noticed if I installed some apps lately, I wanted to use them right away. That's why I placed newly installed apps at bottom for quick access.
However this wasn't enough, opening apps where placed at corners wasn't convenient and if you start switching apps constantly then it starts becoming painful.
That's because our smartphones get bigger and bigger screens, however navigating on them with only one hand become impossible. Steve Jobs had talked about this issue too and said:
Making a phone so big you can't get your hand around it

Actually he was thinking phones couldn't be bigger but as we know they been. However the issue was still there and I wanted to fix it.
So, what you can do with a pointer ?
You will only move the pointer from bottom of the screen with your one finger. Pointer will act as your finger and you will be able to reach the apps with minimum effort.
To open the app, just slide the pointer on top of it and release your finger.
Holding the pointer on the top of the app will open submenu that you can favorite, open its settings or uninstall the app.
You can start searching your apps with sliding the pointer to letters and it will automatically filter them by their first letter.
If you have more apps than one page (and we usually do), moving pointer to the left and right corners will change the page

It's still at prototype state, so there are bugs. Actually, Corcle just released to open alpha. I will be appricated if you report the bugs you found or if you have any suggestion you can send from xxxx. For updates you can join telegram group from xxxx.
I'm happy to hear what you're thinking about the app.
Future Plans:
Applying the pointer to use it inside of the apps.
Easily accesing notifications
Widget support
xxxx
Thank you for your interest, hope you enjoy Corcle

[APP][2.3+][WIP] SideKick Launcher, GYF's free little brother

Originally, I was planning on calling the little guy "Gyffy, GYF's sidekick." But then, I though "Oh, wait."
Of course I am still working on my other launcher but in my quest for ever faster access to anything on my phone, I realized that this may be another step forward, albeit with fewer features.
Warning: Alpha version.
No, it will not damage your phone, but it's still early in the dev process so, it is expected to break.
How do I use it?
In a nutshell: see that tiny blue square in the screenshots? Yes, this guy. Just double-tap it to open SK. Then, tap one or more letters.
Oh, and you can move that square wherever you want: long-press, your device vibrates; drag it around.
Limitations
Just about anything you can think of! Since it's such a young project, it lacks:
- preferences
- proper spelling
- resiliency
- initialization speed
- a consistent way to dismiss the launcher window; just tap in the text field or some open space underneath it
Fun yet useless features
- Right now, touching an app launches it; sliding over it reveals a menu for alternate actions but it doesn't offer any yet
- You can swipe left on the keyboard to delete letters; it's highly unreliable
Mandatory Download Link
Screenies
Yes, these were taken using the Genymotion simulator. How observant of you!

So, that's it?
Oh, no. I can think of a lot of things still missing e.g. shortcuts.
You should see updates very soon.

as I opposed to having a magic blue square on your screen, why not have it activated with a dragging of your finger from the edge of a section of the screen? A lot of apps do this and it's pretty easy to use lol.

Tweaked S-Pen setting on non-stock ROMs (Requires TASKER)

I noticed that there are many people using AOSP roms (CM mostly) and are unsatisfied with the S-Pen experience. Now there are couple of applications that bring S-Pen sheer awesome back from dead ('Reset S-Pen' for calibration and 'GMD Control' for gesturing), so there's that.
Out of these many people, there are few who notice that even when S-Pen is calibrated, whenever Note goes in landscape mode, the cursor still is following portrait calibration. This is problem 1.
Problem 2 is out of these few people, there are even fewer people, like myself, who are left-handed. So when we go from Stock to AOSP/AOKP/AOSPA/CM/"Insert ROM here", we are screwed pretty much from the beginning.
So, wrapping up the *****ing, here is something I created on Tasker to ease my life, and I hope it teases your's too.
NOTE: I'm a left handed person and everytime android restarts, it sets hand preference to Right hand. So 2 of these tasks automatically set dominant hand to left whenever any of the profiles are matched.
Installation Instruction:
0. Get Tasker from Playstore if you don't already have. It is THE AUTOMATION TOOL for Android devices, makes your phone actually "smart".
1. Download Tasker.zip (or save it, you know what I meant).
2. Open the archive and extract the lonely folder "Tasker" into your sdcard (internal sd if phone has, well, internal sd).
3. Open Tasker. Now if my profiles, tasks and scene isn't already listed, don't worry, just open menu and select Data>Restore. From there you may either get a warning Dialogue to Restore or a file explorer inside Tasker folder containing Backup.xml. Either way, just Restore.
4. Use common/non-sense and activate profiles accordingly.
X. If you're on CM10.2, you can flash this. Replaces Vanilla Black Arrow Cursor with Samsung stock S-Pen cursor. Extremely helpful if you like doodling or drawing.

I hope it helps others. I hope this turns out to be useful and not complete waste of forum-space.
Thank you XDA Community, it couldn't have been possible without you.

Big Launcher is an application designed to support older people to use smart phones more easily. Big Launcher includes an interface with icons and large text to help older people can see easily. In addition, you can pin contacts and applications to the home screen to make it easier for older people to use quickly, without having to perform many operations. Young children can also use the phone more easily thanks to this simple interface.
The main reason people have trouble with touch screens is that app icons are too small for their hands or eyesight. So, if you can't help your grandparents touch the right app to open, you can install BIG Launcher to make these icons bigger and easier to use by showing only the mechanical options. copy.
Main function
Simple interface with icons and large text suitable for older people to use
Simple installation, with no lock function for editing
Support Weather Widget for your convenience to keep track of current temperature and weather
Support clock widget with big text
Note
Must have Internet used to download weather data
GPS location: used to get the weather at that location
Read contacts: to get contact list attached to the home screen
Read write memory: to save data

This is my new app for searx, the metasearch engine. It's a pretty simple app as there's not much that needs done and I'm new to app development. It's essentially webview with some extra functionality for navigation and with an easy method of switching between public searx instances (or using a custom url for your own or whatever). I also have another branch with pi-hole option as well because it's something I use.
I'm not entirely sure exactly what direction I'll go with it (whether it'll largely stay the same, I'll add more features, turn it in to a self-hosting kind of app, etc.), but it's completely functional at this point. I currently have the releases listed as beta because they're subject to major changes due to the above.
I'm open to any feedback/suggestions in the app/direction it'll go so let me know what you think!
In app ads/trackers
No. Would defeat the purpose of this whole thing
Features
Easy access to any public searx instance listed in the official instances list
Default instance is Disroot
Can change it to any other public instance by simply clicking on the link through settings within the app
Or you can enter a custom url
Basic navigation controls:
Back
Forward
Refresh
Home (Tapping on the instance title in the top left acts as the home button)
Option to open the current page in your web browser - useful for multiple tab scenarios as that functionality is not in this app (no need for the extra bloat
Option to add your pi-hole url
Long press the instance title in top left to open pi-hole page
Screenshots
Download
The latest release apk can be found at the repo below or at the link about. Pi-hole is disabled by default so if you don't have it, don't worry about it

Is this on F-droid?
No but you're welcome to add it if you want. I won't be updating this anymore either so if anyone wants to fork it and change it, that's fine by me

Question Problem with Samsung keyboard and Gboard after November update?

So I use OfferUp and Mercari a lot. (Buying and selling apps, like craigslist and eBay). I've noticed after the most recent Samsung November update, when I have a private message with someone in either one of those apps the swiping feature on both Gboard and Samsung keyboards doesn't work. I have to peck at the keyboard to type.
It still works on other apps, for example when I'm swiping here. I've checked all kinds of settings and I don't see anything that would fix it. It seems to be similar how you can't swipe when entering a password. The keyboards can detect when it's a password field and disabled swipe but it's now doing it within these apps for private messages. I hope this makes sense.
I'm just looking for a fix below I cannot stand typing on a keyboard without swiping.
Works for me. lol

I'm having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?
I have the same problem. No solutions. Another annoying feature from the update is that in all messaging apps i see completely random words and phrases underlined as a maps link. Wtf
