Hi everybody, I began my OnePlus experience when my best friend let me use one OnePlus 5, then I get one, then I get the OnePlus 5T, then I get the OnePlus 6, the another OnePlus 6 with more storage and it is my last OnePlus, and it will be my last OnePlus experience if I don't fix this trouble.
I was running on my first OnePlus 6 Android 7, the one update to 8, and the last update is to android 10.
I was waching than 64gB was to much storage to me so I decided take another OnePlus 6 this time in 128gB storage.
When I started that another OnePlus 6 saw it was running android 8 and I took it yo update OTA android 10.
The system told there wasn't updates.
I told it to IT Services and the answer was: Please download the ONEPLUS A6000_22_180810 update from this page ... .... and copy to the root directory on the phone, then go to local update on Settings. The system update failed.
I told it to the IT Services and the answer was: your IMEI is out of warranty.
What the **** are you telling me? Out of warranty if I have bought this phone in a local Store.
The real trouble is that phone works great on Android 8, and it's impossible to update to the latest update in official way so I chose to root the phone, so I instal TeamWin recovery and try to flash the ONEPLUS A6000_22_180810 from it:
FAILED AGAIN
Can someone tell me what it happening?
Thanks

hi, dear xda forumers!
this is my very first post, and i am not very good at tech things, so please bear with me (plus I may unwantingly commit grammatical mistakes because i am not a native speaker and it is 2AM here)
first my back story:
I had a Huawei Mate 8 (nxt-l29c....something) European version, I had it for about 6 or 7 months, then it was stolen. By that time it had automatically upgraded to Nougat and I really liked it, got used to it, could not live without it.... so i decided to buy the same phone again. It came with Marshmallow, and I tried to update it but the OTA had been for a limited time only I guess, I emailed around with official huawei customer service asked them maybe to update my device from their headquarters or something, but they could not help me, they said I should just wait and eventually it would update.
after 3 months still nothing I grew impatient and I really wanted to have my "old experience" back, so I tried a tutorial with updating via filmware finder, using one of the first updates that were about 2GB big. It was successful, so it seemed at first, because there were no errors or interruptions, but finally when I turned it on, I noticed that during the update process my phone has lost the built in keyboard (still has the google), no more bluetooth, alarm clock, date time settings, update option
I downloaded the official rollback to Android 6 from 7 but since I updated with an unofficial update, it failed to fix my phone. now I still have the issues listed above.
Now I ended up with
Model number: NXT-L29C900B500 (originally it was NXT-L29C432B180)
EMUI version: 5.0
Android version: 7.0
Edit:
Now trying to use a new filmware from the official huawei website with the dload method
Edit 2:
it did not do anything. I will try again when I wake up
I kindly ask anyone who has any idea how to fix this to reply.
Mate 8 nougat update as far as I know have 2 update zips, I've experienced that problem when trying to update to nougat, I used twrp to flash the update.zip, I had emui 5 after but Bluetooth didn't work and some settings were missing, after searching I found that there are 2 zips to an update, a update.zip and a hwupdate.zip, basically only one was installed for you, you need to install both
Hi,
I just received my brand new 7 Pro from Oneplus today. I assume it will come with Pie out of the box but once i put my sim card it will most likely want to OTA update to Q . Should I resist updating this and install TWRP and Magisk first on the stock phone? or Update and then try to root?

Update to Q and go from there.
Any way should be fine.
I chose to root then update and flash magisk a/b.
Worked out fine for me.
Just got mine a week ago, updated to 10 first then root/twrp/xxx magisk rom, smurf kernel, all before restoring all my stuff. Everything went perfectly. Fricken love this phone.
I just got one OP7 today as well.. I had an update but not to Android 10. I'm still stuck on 9 for whatever reason....
Hey guys new to this and trying to learn how to use all of this new stuff found here on XDA. so recently I was giving a OnePlus 7 pro from T-Mobile but converted to international and just notice that it is running Android 9 (pie) OOS 9..5.3. I wanted to update the op7p to latest software but I'm unable to, when trying to do it ota local upgrade thru OnePlus website or XDA it gives me the system installation update failed I did the clearing wipe cache, deleting ota folder and even factory reset and still getting the system installation update failed. Recently bought a Oneplus 8 with Pixel 6 ROM on it, Android 12 Tiramisu pre-rooted. Got it for a good deal on ebay. Phone came in today with multiple problems. Will not detect sim cards, boots up with error "There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details", fails every time I try to install a system update from settings. I can't do anything phone related with this which isn't really handy for a phone. I'm not familiar with oneplus. How can I get stock firmware and start fresh and do the root myself without making all kinds of issues? I have dug around for about an hour and can't find anyone with a similar issue. Thanks!
Find the device model (it should say IN[four - digit number here]), and locate the MSM tool for said model. That will restore you to stock firmware and hopefully relock the bootloader.
