SM-A207F - How to fix bootloop? - General Questions and Answers

I was following the instructions from here trying to root my s20+ Plus sm-a207f and everything going fine until I had to do a reboot and now my phone is a bootloop and a I keep getting a error message about flashing the wrong binarie . Can someone tell me how to bypass this message to get into recovery to do a factory reset and wipe the cache? Is there a tool that I can install on my pc that would do a reset... Would a abd command do it? I am a very sick man that has rapidly progressing COPD with about 25% of my lungs that is still working. So any and all help i will be truly grateful for...tyvm. I really need my phone.

If a Bixby button isn't present then it should be obvious that you can't boot phone into recovery by means of additionally pressing the Bixby button - 3 buttons press method.
You have to boot into phone's recovery by means of ADB
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot recovery
what requires phone is connected to PC via USB and USB-debugging got enabled on phone.

stuck on Google logo

After updating around 20 apps (altogether ), I noticed the phone was not functioning normally so I tried to reboot it but now it is stuck on Google logo. I've never unlocked the phone nor used any custom roms. I'm on the latest stock rom 2.3.4
I tried removing the battery and putting it back but didn't work. Vol. up + power and then Recovery didn't work either. It gives me a triangle with ! in it and stops right there.
I also tried the USB Jig that forces the phone into downloading mode but it gave me a screen that asks (Unlock bootloader?) with some warnings but I don't know how to accept that. Niether Vol buttons nor Power button worked there
I didn't want to mess up with the phone until I hear from you guys. Please help
up.......
You might have to actually root it or use the Samsung exe back to factory. That is if you don't want to mess with it because if I ware in your position I'd be going back for a new phone. You did nothing wrong and you have 1 year warranty on it.
FYI, the triangle with ! actually is recovery. The UI is hidden until you hold power and press vol down.

Thanks man, I didn't know about that
Is wiping the data (factory reset) going to delete my stuff stored on my SD card? like pic., music, vid. etc?
and do I need to actually wipe the data or will wiping the chache only work?
Factory reset reverts your phone back to the way it was when you got it.
That means all your account settings, device settings, installed applications etc are gone. Everything stored on your SD card will remain there - it's a different storage. The good thing about our Google phones is that you only have to login to Google once and all your stuff is back.
You can try wiping the cache first and see if that works, it won't harm anything. But if that doesn't work, I'm sure a factory reset will.
Good luck.

Can you connect your device to your computer via USB and start "adb logcat" at the Terminal/Command prompt? Does it give you any kind of readout at all?
Try doing a hard reset.

No. The device doesn't even show up when I type "adp devices"
Is there anything else I should try?
Thanks
I can perform things with Fastboot
I don't want to root or unlock the phone. Is there anything else I can do?
I tried typing Fastboot update update.zip after downloading the stock rom update 2.3.4 and putting it in the SDK tools directory but it gave me the msg "faild to upload update.zip"
Try to reset with Odin.

You should be recommending rebooting to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader), then powering down from there, as opposed to hard resetting and pulling the battery.

Tried it in my case but didnt worked, anyways thanks
when you say Always keep a stock ROM recovery and current ROM recovery in mmc. I think that you should say on the SD card? otherwise I believe that the terminology might confuse.
I also agree that you shouldn't say remove battery cover - people (especially non English speakers) may too easily confuse this for remove the battery - which isn't what you want! As recommended above adb reboot bootloader and then Power Down in case it does work for some.
Although it's probably too late by the time people read this thread, I'd also suggest that you recommend they turn off FASTBOOT and enable USB debugging (there's always the chance that they'll read this thread before the sh1t has hit the fan!).
Settings->Power->Fastboot = OFF
Settings->Applications->Devlopment->USB Development=ON
This tutorial is already there in the forum. I would recommend to search the forum before starting a new thread.
Lets keep our forum clean.
ben_pyett is right edit it accordingly in your post. And its "boot loop" not "bootloop".

So I treied to make this guide so that anyone other than me should not be trapped in such Situation
Any ways thanks for info
Thanks for this Guide.
I like the TIPS section. It really can spare you a lot of troubles.
Q1: why to keep a Recovery image? It is not used in the described procedures.
Q2: please explain why we have to remove the battery cover (Pr.2)
Q3: what is the state of the system after Hboot Factory reset - is the ROM still there or it is necessary to flash again?

A1) I personally always keep everything loaded on my phone on the SD, including a clean nandroid backup, because you never know!
A2) ??? not sure of this either......was it so that you can possibly remove battery slightly quicker?
A3) As far as I believe Factory Reset simply formats - DATA and CACHE, returning the phone to the state that you bought it, of course assuming you have a working ROM and BOOT loaded!

A1) Agree, maybe he added it lately but it's used
A2) Also don't know, but you could be on the right track, I unfortunatly done this before cause I forgot wiping before flashing and the rom i used startet an reboot script after flashing, also fastboot where enabled by default and no pc in sight^^ So I pulled off the cover restartet with vol+ vol- power und pulled the battery within the small delay of shutdown and boot^^
A3) Agree, factory reset within the bootloader does the same as factory reset within the recovery
OK Thanks. Q2 and Q3 are clear now
A1) then it has to be written "Recovery BACKUP " not a "Recovery" (recovery.img) because this is double meaning and a bit confusing

Considering you would so easily rip out the battery I doubt you have any patience, but everytime I have been caught in a bootloop I have reset using vol up down power, waited for the phone to appear in device manager, then executed adv reboot bootloader, everytime without fail.

May be I have done something wrong but as far as I know in my case after boot loop I pressed Vol+ , Vol- and power then phone automatic restarted. I checked adb but no luck
next time did the same as you mentioned but error: device not found
So I took out upper battery cover and then orange light flashed up, my device was detected and adb helped rebooting into recovery
Then i flashed htc kernel as boot loop met due to flashing hyperion kernel
Minutes ago I "bricked" my phone again by downgrading the Radio. Hboot Factory reset sucks.
I managed to fix with Solution No.2 im my Guide

[Q] Cannot reboot in recovery mode, home touch button is not working either

I think I'm in big trouble. Yesterday I accidentally uninstalled few of motorola's inbuilt software through Link2SD. I have Motorola Fire XT 311 (rooted). Now I cannot see anything on my screen. The phone is working fine but without any screen functions. I thought I would do a factory reset by pressing Volume keys and Power button. That lands me to a blank screen saying "Enter in recovery mode". After few seconds this screen changes with Android with exclamation mark irrespective of what I press.
My problem:
1) Cannot see my screen when phone is working
2) The home key is not working
3) I cannot turn on USB debugging
Question:
1) Did I close all my ways to restore my phone?
2) Do we have any way to factory reset my phone with the help of my computer?
Please answer otherwise this blunder will cost me a new phone

I f up

My twrp is gone after an ota update on my sailfish. So I thought I'll tried out flashify because I don't have a pc or a laptop. For some reason I thought that flashify can install twrp back. I tried to install it using flashify but it says it ran to a problem, so my stupid brain decide to I flash gapps first using the app because I have deleted some of the gapps. I deleted google playstore with the gmscore. Then my phone stucked on a bootloop, so I did a factory reset and my phone did reboot but now I'm stuck on the android setup which cannot open without google playstore. (f'in great) I cant reboot to bootloader and I cant connect to pc with usb debugging (greatest thing that can happen) Now, does anybody know how to fix this?
Edit: you know maybe im a genius, i fix it by myself
1. Boot to bootloader (mine work again after I type adb reboot bootloader on the terminal. Volume down + power button
2. I tried to reboot to lineage recovery but apparently it seems to ignore it so I flash twrp fastboot flash (I drag my twrp file here)
3. On twrp I reboot to recovery to get to lineage is recovery
4. I tapApply update and the From adb
5. On the terminal I type adb sideload (I drag lineage system file here)
4. And that's it,

Hey there, what happens when you try to get into the bootloader?
I don't want to be rude but next time please refrain from using unconventional methods because these may not give you the results you want if you don't know how to use them correctly. Also, Gapps packages are only meant to be used on custom ROMs that don't bring any Google apps by default.

Hey aL, that's good to hear. As I've told you before, I think you should stick to normal flashing methods just so you can be sure of what you're doing.
Also, it would be nice if you can post a little walkthrough of what you've done to get your device working again as it can be useful if anyone else reads this thread looking for a solution. Do not forget to contact a mod so it can be closed after a solution is posted.

Bootloop and unable to access fastboot or recovery mode

welcome
I wanted to install twrp for xiaomi redmi 9 global version miui 12.5.1
These were the commands I used:
1 - fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.2B-0108.img
2 - fastboot flash misc misc.bin
3 - fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
4 - fastboot boot twrp-3.4.2B-0108.img
After that, the device restarted but MIUI did not start again. "Redmi" appears on the screen for a few seconds then restarts again and again.
And now comes the real problem and also the reason for this post...
I cannot access recovery or fastboot mode!
I can't even turn off the device.
I can't do anything but wait for the battery to run out.
If I hold Power + VolumeUp = It keeps rebooting
If I hold Power + VolumeDown = It keeps rebooting
If I only hold Power = It keeps rebooting
If I hold all of them it stops rebooting and keeps the black screen as if it's off, but when I stop holding, the bootloop starts again.
I don't know what to do, I hope any of you can help me.
Thanks for the attention.

Thanks for the quick reply
Please can you explain how this works?
It's typically done via ADB Sideload method - what of course requires USB Debugging got enabled on phone and you have the Stock ROM in .ZIP-file format on hand.

But due to my lack of experience in the field, I was unable to find a detailed explanation of the ADB Sideload process that you told me about, could you please explain how this works Steps or send a link with details or a video, please Knowing that the phone does not appear on the computer due to its continuous restart all the time I am sorry again
That's another issue you report now,
My recommendation: Take phone to authorized service center and let them try to fix it.
I already took it to fix it but no result He told me that I have to replace the motherboard and this is wrong because my problem is a problem with the phone system
