does anyone know how to root max3x please
Rooting disables some of the built-in security features of the operating system, and those security features are part of what keeps the operating system safe, and your data secure from exposure or corruption. May I know why do you want to root your device?

Have you ever tried your lucky with a third-party root application? It would be an easy way to quick root your phone.

Phone is based on Mediatek chipset, hence trying so-called One-Click-Root tools as suggested above don't work. Forget this.
How to flash your phone in detail is described here:

To Root the lg tribute 5. You need to use kingroot. This is the easiest way to root it
1) go to your setting.
Then scroll to about phone
click on software information.
Then you will see build number and tap on it 8 times
until you unlock developer options
Then go back to the beginning of setting, you will see Developer options
Click on it and then enable USB Debugging then hit ok
2) After that download KingRoot from the link below and install it
Link: http://www.kingroot.net/wap
3) After its installed run the application and follow what it says.
( phone might reboot so dont worry, if it does reboot just go back into the application and keep going)
4) After it finish, reboot the phone and you should be successfully rooted

No Unfortunately, but I'm not sure but this might be a "CDMA" phone. Here is a Web-site that you might like to read about this topic "http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2476565,00.asp" but really I don't know how to unlock it. Hope this helps
Unfortunately that isn't accurate. You will only be partially rooted. You cannot access the bootloader to install a custom ROM.

Should... Don't know about permanent. Seen mixed replies about it.

Did you ever find a way to use the LGLS675ABB on a different carrier?

Locked Bootloader and no custom recoveries but I don't see how its not full root? I have the xposed framework flashed and superSU as my root manager.

The inability to flash a custom recovery so one could make a full nandroid backup or flash a different ROM is what defines it as not a full root. Rooting (a full root) gives full access to all aspects of the device. Without the ability to make a backup, if Google decides to half-ass an update that causes glitches, there's no way to flash a backup, because a full one cannot be made.
I'm still trying to find out how it was claimed someone managed to unlock it... or if anyone have the VZ4 firmware in a dz file format...haven't found anything yet, except for the poster who's post was removed for attempting to profit off the forums.

Downloading it now to see if it's a .dz file in a .zip download, or just a .zip which won't work as the default recovery considers almost everything to be unsigned.
I downloaded it it's the kernel and Android in tar.gz format
As did I. The only issue is how to compile it into .dz format for flashing via the LG UP program.

It tries 5 times then stays on a "Self Service" black screen...

But I'm using TMO and, like you, can only get a 3G connection with 3M/2M speeds...
Anyone know how to resolve this?

It has something to do with unlocking LTE band, similar to this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...m-updating-t2871269/post55321005#post55321005
However, it seems complicated
Does Tribute 5 have its own thread? I'm rooted, debloated. Disabled one process lg update but it doesn't seem to significantly improve battery life. Something drains the battery. I also have Treasure with tracfone. It has much better battery life. Are there any other processes i can safely uninstall?
Hi
I want to root my OnePlus One solely for the purpose of being able to install an app which requires my phone to be rooted. I have seen some old threads (both here and on OnePlus.net) on how to do this, but I'm not sure if the procedures still work for a phone running Cyanogen 13.1.
Can anyone point me to some instructions that do work for OPOs running CM13.1 that will allow me to root my phone without wiping any data
Many Thanks!

Well you only want root right?
You can simply do it without unlocking boot loader.
Just search for kingoroot or kingroot apk on google and use it making sure you've a good internet connection. It may need a few tries before rooting. But it will 100% work.
Not the best choice...You should install the system less supersu imo.

Doesn't matter,he wants the root only and he can achieve the supersu by a simple kinguser to supersu trick.

Hello everyone. I'm just a bit curious (and worrying) about this.
I have the Find My Device (or formerly Android Device Manager) 's administrator permission disabled. However, this morning I got my device almostly erased by this feature (luckily I turned off Wi-Fi at that time). After re-checking, I found that somehow the admin permission was re-enabled (WITHOUT MY PERMISSION !). Could anyone here please explain me why?
Thanks very much.

Are you sure? If so it sounds like you must have malware with root access on your phone. Maybe your network also hacked.
I didn't think disconnecting WiFi will stop erase command, but I might be wrong as never tried it. Also you got everything back That suggests to me it was not "erasing" but something else was happening.....

Thanks for replying. Actually, I got to reproduce that scenario. I clean-flashed my firnware again with GApps, then revoke GMS' Administrator permission. And...it automatically enables when I click Enable Lock & Erase in Find My Device.

Well, I thinks that depends on the GApps installation type (pre-installed or flashed manually).
I managed to capture an OTA update for the T-Mobile Revvl. It contains the boot image, preloader, and a bunch of other system stuff. If we can mod this for root or custom recoveries, that would be great.
Here's a mdeiafire link to the OTA update.

Why don't you spit out all of the root exploit tools you know of and quit wasting my time?
I am willing to jump on the bandwagon and help developers to gain root access for this phone and the plus version. Fairly tech savvy with adb and fairly comfortable to be able to redirect if something went wrong let me know what's needed!!!
Would love to see this happen! Have one if you need someone to beta test

Rather than post this redundant it would benefit everyone if you linked the two you know of.
I'm in a similar situation, I keep getting a crash dump error, regardless if i start from OB2,OB3, Official 9.0. Tried different recoveries too
Flash or boot TWRP, factory reset and flash a full firmware. It's not that hard.

Rather than being lazy people need to learn how a forum works, and how to use search. People also need to learn what they are doing with their devices.
This was a place for enthusiasts once, now rooting got so easy and more people are getting into this without doing ANY research by themselves.
If you're getting the Qualcomm crash dump, your best bet is to use the MSM download tool (in the guides section). Then update to pie, and root from that point.
