Hello everyone. I'm just a bit curious (and worrying) about this.
I have the Find My Device (or formerly Android Device Manager) 's administrator permission disabled. However, this morning I got my device almostly erased by this feature (luckily I turned off Wi-Fi at that time). After re-checking, I found that somehow the admin permission was re-enabled (WITHOUT MY PERMISSION !). Could anyone here please explain me why?
Thanks very much.

Are you sure? If so it sounds like you must have malware with root access on your phone. Maybe your network also hacked.
I didn't think disconnecting WiFi will stop erase command, but I might be wrong as never tried it. Also you got everything back That suggests to me it was not "erasing" but something else was happening.....

Thanks for replying. Actually, I got to reproduce that scenario. I clean-flashed my firnware again with GApps, then revoke GMS' Administrator permission. And...it automatically enables when I click Enable Lock & Erase in Find My Device.

I don't know whether it works on your device.. I also tried on a Galaxy A5 (16) and it can still enable itself.
By the way, which model is your device?

Well, I thinks that depends on the GApps installation type (pre-installed or flashed manually).

I removed root via SU, ran root checker to confirm, but I still cannot get OTA updates, get message saying "this device is suspected in rooting"
I can't unroot it any more than I have..
my main reason is the GPS, my phone has the poorest performing GPS of any phone I have had going back to my Google G1, gps will not lock while in a vehicle, cannot use google maps or any other nav.
Im hoping the update will fix it, failing that I will have to send it in for replacement, either way I need it fully unrooted.
Any ideas?

As far as I can tell, a PC is the only way. Make sure you find one with a USB 2.0 port.
Not an option, at all.

Hi, I'm currently facing the same issue. Have you found any solution yet? What root are you using? Thanks.
Edit:
I have downloaded zANTI version 2.0 from here. It loads the app however it crashes after submitting the email. It seems that it starts to crash from version 2.4.2

Yes. The solution was easy af. Go toSuperSu and force user of the crashing apps to SYSTEM. That should do it.
I dont think it has something to do with my root but rather with the new OS Android 7.x

Oh damn, I'm using Magisk. I need to find a way around it I guess Thanks for the reply! I will try to work on it.
So i got this south korean model of the J7 called the J727s (galaxy wide 2), but this creepy Knox thing keeps me from using the home button and the multitasking button.
It seems to read the imei or whatever instantly after connecting to any kind of internet and start this weird actions. The app seems to be Knox enrollment service and it is the device manager so i cant delete it.
Im ready to root this, and maybe factory reset would be ok. Can anyone help me with deleting or disabling this?:crying:
And please dont post such replies like 'call to the it manager and delete the device from the list' i've already read the s7 post that had the similar problem with me.

It should work. No consequences can come of it not working.
G'day all.
Rooted my old Galaxy Tab 4; flashed a ROM that seems to be working just fine.
Somehow I managed to delete/disable/screw up Google Play Services to the point where I had to do a factory reset. I still appear to be using the new ROM, but SuperUser now says I don't have root access. When I run the rooting software (KingoRoot, Kingroot, and RootMaster) they say I'm rooted. But Root Check says not.
Any thoughts as to how to recover access? I'd like to be able to get rid of some of the bloatware that still infests the machine.
regards

I'll have a look there but I think the issue is not necessarily related to the machine but to something with the software permissions. Somehow, Superuser is ignoring the rooting software, whiich did not happent he first time I did it and I think that's because something happened during the reset.

Samsung devices are not like other Android devices, very heavily modified android.
Very few devices can be rooted by KingoRoot, Kingroot, or RootMaster anymore.
As long as the SU-binary is present in /system/bin the device is rooted. Check for this.

Thanks. Presumably that's under Device Storage, yes? I don't appear to have a system folder there. A search doesn't turn up the file itself.

And I do not appear to have access t the root files, so can't see if anything is in /system/bin. Indeed I can't see the folder itself. mite turn up on adb, I suppose. I'll try that when a get a few minutes.
does anyone know how to root max3x please
Rooting disables some of the built-in security features of the operating system, and those security features are part of what keeps the operating system safe, and your data secure from exposure or corruption. May I know why do you want to root your device?

Phone is based on Mediatek chipset, hence trying so-called One-Click-Root tools as suggested above don't work. Forget this.
