Hi all,
wrote a Windows CMD script that backups / clones partitions of an Android device via ADB because I wasn't content with any 3rd-party APK what claims to do this job.
The backups /clones are stored on Windows computer as TAR-file/.IMG-file.
This script was
Created and tested on Genymotion with Samsung Galaxy S8 image ( Android 8.1 )
Runs on Windows versions Windows XP professional, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 & Windows 10
Should work with Mediatek, Unisoc (Spreadtrum), Qualcomm etc chipset based Android phones
This script requires Android is rooted.

hey dude say how come you only have 3 partitions? and one of them is cache in my pixel 5 I have like 15 partitions where is your boot vendor modem and other partitions go? I'm not saying it's a malware but your screen shots do look suspicious also if I make a clone of my data partition and a few days from now I mess up my phone and want to restore it what do I do fastboot flash data? is it even possible?

1. As mentioned tool was run on Genymotion emulator: real phones of course have a lot more partitions.
2. If you decide to create clones then the produced .IMG-files can get played back to phone by Android's dd command.
Wonder why you classify this tool as malware? Looks to me you didnt get the purpose of this tool.

I'm new to the Android platform, only getting an Android Phone less than a week ago. I am however a developer and from reading up on Android and ROM's I noticed that there was little to nothing on the .IMG format, especially tools for windows.
With that in mind I started to develop a command line based tool to extract and compress .IMG files. It does rely on other tools to do this (hence the Tools folder included). My utility searches for the GZip Signature in the .IMG file and dumps the data. It then extracts it into a folder and from here you can modify the files and then re-compress them back into an .IMG file using my tool.
What I have found is some .IMG files that contain links/shortcuts will become corrupt upon extraction since they are only supported by the linux operating system.
Anyway, my program should be self explanatory when you run it. The screenshot above also shows the commands and parameters that should be used.
NOTE : [Base IMG] is your original unmodified .IMG File and [New IMG] is the file name of the .IMG file that will be created. Also, ignore the function not implemented errors.

These are some useful little tools, Considering lack of them for Windows users. Maybe nice one day to Polish it up with a nice GUI to make it easy for less experienced people.

I have a CUBOT Note 20 Pro (rooted) and today I tried to install the android 11 GSI when I got an error saying "FAILED (remote: 'This partition doesn't exist')" when trying to flash using the fastboot command line and this command specifically "fastboot flash system system.img". I looked around the scatter file and there seems to be no use of the system.img file whatsoever.
I have attached the scatter file and a screenshot of the error.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

How exactly do I use this tool?
read back super.img from SP Flash Tool, patch it, replace system.img, whatever, and flash new super.img back from fastboot

This tool could probably be used in Termux or in a root shell if you somehow could install .NET 7 Runtime. But, it does require the phone to be rooted for Thor to be able to access the USB devices connected. And additionally, you need a (first phones USB) to (second phone's USB) cable to connect, or have some adapter to make it work.
