Was wondering if anybody has RCS in Samsung Messages on T-Mobile? is there a certain combination of things that you need to have it? I have the G996U1 on T-Mobile and don't see any RCS. Might it help to flash T-Mobile firmware? Thx
If you want RCS in Samsung message then flash T-mobile firmware or use Google messager.

Gotcha, thank you.
Actually not really if you follow the guide using Alliance Shield X you can enable not only RCS but Video over LTE as well. I have it enabled on my S21+ using the default Samsung Message app. I am also un U1

No, it activates a Knox license which allows the app further permissions. It's totally safe to use.

NOTE: This might only apply to the Verizon version of the S9/S9+ (SM-G96xU), but for those of you who have this app, disable it.
It's labeled as "Mobile Services Manager" under Settings > Apps (it does not appear in your app drawer in your launcher).
Previously called DT Ignite (or just Ignite), it can and does install apps without your permission as instructed by your carrier. This is in addition to the apps installed on first boot by ConfigAPK (android.autoinstalls.config.samsung) and is guaranteed to just be bloat.
The package name is com.LogiaGroup.LogiaDeck and was found on my device under /system/carrier/priv-app/IgniteVerizon/IgniteVerizon.apk. Without root, you can't delete this package, but you can disable it, which will prevent it from continuing to do its dirty work.
Thx for the tip

Hi there. Does anyone know what the app is called for Spectrum Mobile? As far as I know, Spectrum cell service is a relatively new thing (at least here in BFE) so I'll understand if no one is sure. Don't know if it matters or not, but they run off Verizon. Thanks in advance for any advice. I am completely new to any sort of tweaking/customization other than changing some settings here and there. (Basically just being a wimp with a leased phone.) I'm interested in learning all I can, or all I can without voiding the warranty. Lol. Thanks all and sorry if I sound clueless.
Update: still looking on my new phone for possibilities but I did just get on my S7 Edge from Verizon and found Mobile Services Manager using Package Disabler Pro. Wow! Those permissions were ridiculous.
Is it applicable in tmobile as well?
That's why I bought package disabler pro. Eliminates all vzw bloat.
Mobile services manager
I found this app also in the application list on At&t Galaxy S9+, but not in my app drawer. I uninstalled the updates for it and it went from being called mobile services manager to At&t app select. I disabled it and once I did it disappeared completely from my app list all together. It had background data enabled and everything. Sneaky At&t, try to get one iver on me.

Honestly I got tired of At&t bloatware and wifi calling notification staying on my panel. I flashed the U1 firmware to my phone last night. The AT&t firmware has a serious security issue where if I make a call and press the lock key the phone unlocks itself as soon as the call ends or if I get a call and unlock it for any reason it stays unlocked after the phone call. I use headphones at work for my calls and this leaves it unlocked in my pocket doing all kinds of things. At&t says not an issue just pull your phone out and lock it. I say Im not supposed to have my phone at all and I rely on the answer and end call button on my headphones and need it to stayocked in my pocket. I dont have this issue with the U1 firmware. And it has a data switch in the shortcut pull down menu so no background data period.
I am reading this thread after finding it by Google search.
I am trying to find the source of my battery drain on my Samsung Note 8.
While searching and deleting apps, I stumbled across this unknown thing, and here I am.
Btw...
I'm on T-Mobile.
Be aware of this new bloatware system app name! Mobile Device Manager(formerly known as DT Ignite) has now changed it's name to Verizon App Manager. Don't be fooled, disable this so-called 'system app' ASAP to prevent it from installing unwanted apps (mostly games) onto your phone while eating up your phone's resources and data!
Hello,
First, sorry if my English is bad. It's actually not my first language.
To achieve this you need to
1. Remove the sim card from your phone
2. Use a VPN in order to connect to Korean Server
3. Clear Galaxy Store Data & Cache
4. go to Galaxy Store and now you will be on Korean Galaxy store.
You can download Good Lock and its plugins, Samsung One Font, etc.
(PS. The method seems to work also with Google Play Store)
Can you please guide which vpn app used? I'm trying many apps, no one shows option for Korea (few other countries only).

I tried this method and it works. However, after I inserted back my sim card it reverted back to my country's galaxy store version.

You just need to open EasyOvpn and choose korean server it will redirect to OpenVpn and ask you to import profile.

Yes. I think that Galaxy Store try to detect the country with sim card. So you need to do this everytime you want to update or install something with Korean Galaxy Sotre

It depends on your model and where you are. If you don't have it enabled, like the U.S. unlocked KB2005 variants, you cannot enable it through the system right now. No matter what model you have, there will be a way once we get root. I am sure there are regular apps you can get as well. I use TotalRecall which lets you choose the method for recording, including root.

LOL, that's very very true. But we have to live on with this situation. On rooted phones you can get most call recorders to work, after reading their help files (skvalex Call Recorder, Boldbeast, I have both paid versions).
Disadvantage is, with root, secured apps mostly do not work any more, issues with Widevine Level 1 and SafetyNet will arise, and there is no certified Play Store for GPay any more. In addition, Android 11 forces more security than previous versions. You may need to go back to older phones (i.e. my Moto Z3 Play) to get what you want. For my part, fixing all these issues (with Magisk, the like) is too much work, which likely has to be repeated after monthly security updates.
I'm on KB2003 (EU) and we don't even have half of the OnePlus apps. Messaging and Phone for example, have been changed to Google's. Not to mention there's some other preinstalled Google bloat, although you can easily uninstall them as a lot of them aren't system apps. We also still have netflix added as bloat too? I'm not sure what's happening anymore

On Pixel 3a XL I was able to root Android 11 and skvalex Call Recorder works on that. But I am worried that it will not do the trick on the 8T. Now I'm just waiting to push the order button - but I NEED call recording. It's the most crucial feature of a phone I purchase.
I'm not rooted on OP8T and I used jOnePlus Tools and enabled it using shell commands then enabled call recording and it works with native phone app....if I had it rooted I'd rather have truephone+skvalex but that's my preference

Sorry, I don't see anything useful in your 7 seconds imgur video. But thanks for your efforts, maybe it is helpful for other users with your 8T version.
EU variant (KB2003) has no native OP dialer, it's Google's com.google.android. That said, jOnePlus Tools show a switch with enabled call recorder and call recorder service, but nothing is recorded because there is no call recorder in EU firmware or Google Dialer, which can be enabled.

If you have root, you can try Google dialer mod to force enable call recording.
IntroductionGAppsMod (ex GoogleDialerMod) is an Android application able to unlock hidden features (e.g., available only in some countries or on certain devices) in Google applications (such as Phone Messages by Google). Root is required.
The patches are applied to the "Phenotype DB", a hidden Google Play Services database that tracks which features are available or not for all Google applications installed on Android devices. This approach should allow mods to survive application updates and keep the original Google applications unpatched.
Features
Supports all arm / arm64 / x86 / x86_64 devices and all Android versions from 5.0 (Lollipop)
Enable / disable hidden features for all users at once when Android "multiple users" mode is in use
Allows users to list and change all Phenotype DB boolean flags for all installed Google applications
A convenient home screen brings together the suggested mods for the most used Google applications
Currently suggested mods
For the Phone application (link):
Force enable call recording feature, even on unsupported devices or in unsupported countries (ref)
Enable also automatic call recording ("always record") feature based on caller (otherwise only available in India)
Silence the annoying "registration has started / ended" call recording announcements (only on Phone version <= 94.x)
Force enable call screening and "revelio" (advanced automatic call screening) features, even on unsupported devices or in unsupported countries (ref)
Allows users to choose the language for call screening
For the Messages application (link):
Force enable debug menu (it can also be enabled without mods by entering *xyzzy* in the application's search field)
Force enable message organization ("supersort")
Force enable marking conversations as unread
Force enable verified SMS settings menu (ref)
Force enable always sending images by Google Photos links in SMS (ref)
Force enable nudges and birthday reminders (ref)
Force enable Bard AI draft suggestions ("magic compose") (ref)
Force enable smart features: spotlights suggestions (ref), stickers suggestions, smart compose (ref), smart actions (smart reply) in notifications
And much more coming soon
Troubleshooting:
After enabling / disabling any mod, please force close and reopen a few times the Google application you are trying to tweak. You may also need to reboot for the changes to take effect.
Before to report an issue try to delete Google apps data, to reboot your phone and to try again what didn't work

It works on my new Xiaomi Mi 11 running Android 11. But it seems the recording announcement insists on playing when starting/stopping recording, even with the 'slience call recording alerts' switched on. Not sure if the other party will hear the announcements though, will need more testing.
But it is great otherwise ! Cheers

4 files:
ending_voice-en_US.wav ending_voice-zh_HK.wav starting_voice-en_US.wav starting_voice-zh_HK.wav

Uhm in theory GoogleDialerMod should force Google Dialer to use the US file, which it replaces with an empty file.
I'll try to troubleshoot this and I'll let you know.
Have you already tried to disable and re-enable the switch and force closing (via Android settings) and reopening the dialer a couple of times?

There are still issues with apps looking for root. Usually, there are workarounds (for now), but you have to stay on top of the required actions.

You could use the NetGuard app for this purpose [it doesn't require root, though it will create a VPN connection].
