Hi everyone,
recently I decided to wipe my whole phone and flashed crDroid 6.13 (stable) in combination with SmurfKernel working on Balanced mode.
Battery life? Not so great. To be honest, I'm jealous on everyone using this ROM on OP7P because their battery life is great. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Battery level: 91%
Last full charge (to 100%): 2 hours ago
Current SoT: 27 minutes
I literally don't know what's wrong with my phone or what I'm doing wrong, because at this tempo, I can't get even 3h30m SoT with whole day idle combination.
Phone is 1 year and 3 months old, and according to /sys/class/power_supply/bms/battery_health, i'm at 85% battery health.
What's even worse, every custom ROM I have tried so fare (LOS, RR, crDroid), every single one has bad battery life for me.
Anyone else experiencing issues with battery on Custom ROMs?
As for my usage, I use WhatsApp, Slack, Relay(reddit), and occasionally FB, IG, SnapChat.
Thanks.

This another battery post... I'm seriously starting to think that there is something wrong with my battery. Yesterday I got a day's use only with three hours sot. I didn't even use it heavily just browsing with chrome. Right now I'm getting 9 hours and down to 65 percent. 1 hour 50 mins of just browsing with chrome. Havent used any other apps either. I'm running mahdi ROM and before I had some battery problems with cm11s battery. I don't have anything waking up my phone so no wakelocks and I haven't been playing music either.
I don't have a lot of apps open and I do use greenify. Screen brightness is below 50% for 95% of my usage time. Reception is soso as I am on At&t and for some reason I can't get good signal on 4g so I go on 3g which is better. I also use wifi quite alot.
I have been told that my Android System usage is very high and I don't know why it is doing that. I got better battery life on cm11s but it is still low in comparison to others. Other people have not even modded their system in anyway and they are getting better SOT and total battery hours.
Pictures: imgur(.)com/a/6MUy2 (Mahdi Rom) Note: I didn't want it to drain overnight because then it would have be skewed results as I would be sleeping and not using it. Hence the screenshots at 35%

I could never pump out more than 5h SoT on my opo. Right now I'm getting around 3h before I need to charge it . I'm on stock Cyanogen on 12. I've tried exodus etc and it's all the same :/ My usage isn't even that heavy, I don't play any games at all so I'm sure this is either a rom issue or faulty hardware issue not sure. Is there any setting/rom you guys recommend ? I was thinking about going back to Kitkat but which version has the best battery life ? Thanks and I appreciate any help whatsoever
PS: I disabled the Google services battery drain.
Bump
hello dev
i advice you of using this rom
resurrection remix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-resurrection-remix-lp-5-2-0-t2971715
at the moment i'm using it and it's perfect not a single problem mem leak or battery
:good:
Exodus should give you a hell of a battery life. I have heard nothing but good stuff about that ROM. I myself have not used it yet, but I'm planning to.
I get between 4,5 - 6 hours SOT with AK kernel and v1.9 of real_pac's synapse settings. I also use greenify.
Try rooting your phone and add these additional tweaks, your battery life should be much better!
I am rooted and everything. I was on exodus but it was as good as cm12 nightlies :/ Resurrection I have tried too and i only got 3h SoT I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong unfortunately . I'll try to use greenify and I'll report back
I feel you, never got more than around 3 hours of SOT. Brightness is always below 50 percent, I turn off gps when I dont use it, 3G/wifi all day long. Im running exodus as some people said it had amazing battery life, but don't really see a difference. I am rooted with he paid version of greenify + the paid version of amplify, and the power nap xposed module aswell as privacy guard on google play services. Yet I never ever even get close to the 4-9 hours SOT which some people seem to get. I really don't understand it either..
what's the awake time on your Android System or Android OS? I think I'm in the same boat, flashed BlissPop and RenderUber and left it idle with no additional settings or apps installed, then come back to it and find a good chunk of battery life gone. Both roms had Android System using 1hr of awake time.
Then I installed BBS on both roms, found nothing. Google Play Services wake up permission is disabled in Privacy Blocker, haven't installed Greenify or Servicely yet but just wondering why on stock settings there'd be such a heavy drain.
Update:
Just found something interesting. The battery drain now is just pathetic. Powered up my phone, left it idle for 30 seconds and reboot. Bam, 1% of battery life gone. Repeated this 5 times in a row, every time the phone reboots, 1% of battery will drop. It doesn't drop right after, it sometimes drop after the phone idles for about 1~2 minute but that's just insane.

This is completely normal, the boot process is very intensive and consumes more battery than if your phone was just sitting idle, or even being used normally.

For those of you desiring a phone with +6h SoT. Revert back to cm11s and be happy with your SoT. I did two days ago and I have no regrets. Running amplify with greenify simultaneously and I'm getting around 7h SoT.
i´ve been using the mate 9(l09) for about 9 months and at the start the battery life was the best i had experienced in a smartphone, after a month the battery life was noticeably lower(4hr 30min hr sot) that when i got it. i was on some weird latin firmware(mha-l09c212b181) and rebranded to l09-C432B198 hoping to get more sot but only got about 10 more min.
Any suggestions of firmware?or should i replace battery? whats your experience?
What's your daily usage like?
Maybe you've installed a rogue app that's draining your juice?
Been using my phone for a year now and I still hit 9 or 10 hours of sot.
YMMV, i would trace back on what app you installed before the whole issue occurred, if not worst case scenario is to hard reset everything, make sure to back up all your stuff.
If no change then either your usage habits are greater than when you got the phone or a defect in the battery
One year using this phone and Im still able to get 9 to 10 hrs SoT within 2 day usage. I used fb and fb messenger a lot (4-5 hrs), web browsing + video (2-3 hrs) and of course 2 hrs of playing games. It's still a beast for me right now, no phone can replace it, maybe mate 10 or other Kirin chip phones. For me, Kirin is extremely good in managing battery and multi task, my phone is always smooth and fast as hell lol
My phone is so much better on Oreo battery life.i don't know how you get so long sot other poster are you on wifi with good cell reception all day.
. I get around 5-6 hours
Been away for some time son no time to reply. im going to factory rest on the weekend and only install the basic social media so i can get more SOT than im getting now. If this works ill install apps one by one and see if one is draining the battery. Otherwise i will concider a battery replacement.
anyone know a better way of tracking the apps that drain battery?
Hello Guys,
my 1+7pro seems to have a really bad sot.
I get barely 5 hours with [email protected] and 90% only WiFi.
It's rooted with Smurf kernel+XXX not limits ROM for Magisk.
All of them are updated to the newest versions - no app seems to walk in the background draining battery.
AccuBattery measures the battery health is about 3400mah left after just 5 months now.
I never charged it over 100% , never used Quick Charge and never let it discharge beyond 20%.
Any suggestions ? Maybe a defective battery?
In the other forum sections they get 6-7+ sot that's why I'm so curious...
Best regards
Have you been flashing the phone recently...when was the last time you left the phone as is...everytime you flash/ clean cache etc..the phone will need a few days to settle down...If all's settle down and you are still getting bad battery...get it to a service centre and see if they can fix it..
Good morning,
Before updating a few weeks ago to android 12, I was getting decent battery life with use of Galaxy Max Hz. Since updating to android 12, I've been seeing life as bad as this.
I woke up at 8 took off charge. And have done virtually nothing.
Anyone having terrible A12 life? I literally watched it drop from 82 to 81 typing this.
You still having bad battery drain?... not sure if they might of fixed it, as my phone has quite decent battery life with alot of use, watching online sites & Netflix etc..one thing I don't use which I see you have is Facebook & messenger which I do know from experience how much these 'work' in the background...my battery life was better immediately when I got shut of those imo intrusive apps...they're always doing something.
I had to re-flash the stock firmware 5 times because of terrible battery life before it finally settled down, I think it was something to do with the kernel. Are you able to odin flash the firmware again?
