I'm quite happy with my Nexus S. But there is one annoying problem with it. It cannot render Hindi or any other Indian language properly. All I got was boxes instead of letters. So I installed a custom font[DroidSansFallback.ttf] which had all the required alphabets.
Even after this the rendering of text is not proper. Its like its missing some rendering rules -
It should be like this instead -
Now Gingerbread was supposed to support Hindi atleast. I am disappointed a lot. Has anyone has found a workaround or fix?
I know there is a way because a mid range handset like Samsung Galaxy Pro supports it out of box.
PS: Pardon my n00bness. This is my first thread.
Indic language rendering is not enabled on Android by default.
Please see page 2 of this thread:- (and help, if you can)

Thanks a lot for guiding me there.
DN in this context refers to the swedish newspaper "Dagens Nyheter" (http://www.dn.se).
They have developed an app that is called DN+ and works rather well on iOS devices.
The app requires the user to have a paid subscription for the user to be able to read the latest newspaper on their respective device.
For testing the application there are some sample 'newspapers' to download from inside of the app.
On the Android platform at least, the app is based on the Adobe Air platform.
I got frustrated about how the DN+ app didn't work on my Samsung Galaxy Note II but worked on my Samsung Galaxy Note.
So...inspired by some of the hacks here on the forums I thought I would give it a try to hack it.
The instructions and tools are similiar to this thread:

But you need to replace the com.hbo.android.app.apk with air.se.bonnier.dn.newsplus-1.apk.
The directory where I found the apk on my device was 'data.ext4\data\app'.
The file config_android.xml is located in the directory: 'assets\assets_runtime\config'
I will provide a link to the .apk file here (as soon as I've reached 10 posts on this forum) if you don't want to hack it yourself.
I changed some settings in the config_android.xml file. Not being an Adobe Air developer, I might have changed a little bit too much or tweaked the numbers wrong. Please let me know if you have any problems or if you can improve on this 'hack'.
I attached the changed config_android.xml file to this post.
Unzip that file to your directory where you unzipped your .apk file in the subdirectory: 'air.se.bonnier.dn.newsplus-1\assets\assets_runtime\config'
Confirmed working on my:
Samsung Galaxy Note II (Samsung GT-N7105 Galaxy Note II LTE), Samsung Galaxy Note

I have two questions about the development environment for the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Is there a library that gives access to a "canvas environment". For example to create a popup note with inking?
Is there a library that gives access to the handwriting recognition on the Note?
Thanks

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-Keyboard-Dock/dp/B0069J13IE
Why this Poll ?
1. I want to see how many have got this Keyboard Docking.
2. How many use it .
3. Under which Android Version is it using.
To prepare it is important to add the Function under V7.x
